Art is giving the trolls more power just like he gave the stalker more power.
Well, just to be fair Art created the "stalker" so he can adjust the power levels however he pleases depending on the kind of mood he's in...

So Heather's real name is Sum Ting Wong??

Alright, it's all beginning to make sense now...

Quote from: a comment on Art's FB pageMy few visits to Bellgab... it felt like there were a half dozen or so anonymous guys sitting around in their underwear, having the best time coming up with the most biting, hurtful, sarcastic commentary, chuckling aloud to themselves as they gleefully inflict pain on others. The types that click back and forth between Bellgab and some porn site... yank one off then go have a cig and spew some spite. Always a dark, bad vibe from that place. Creepy. And absolutely no one but them cares or finds it amusing. That bunch should be real easy to let go of.

The only thing accurate is the part where we beat off.

Yep.
Thanks for posting that.

Quote"She really sounded awesome."
That sure sounds a lot like what Art has posted every day since she took over, doesn't it?
So, from day number one the audience rejected her... and he was quick to defend her.  Sound familiar?   Hmm.

No, I didn't forget that. But, he never actually said he wanted her as a "co host"., that was something people on this board were saying, as far as I know.
I'm pretty sure Art did in fact state on air that he was "testing the waters" to have her as a co host... but listeners didn't want it, so she quickly disappeared until his reretirement.  Somebody here maybe can confirm this, since some here probably have recordings of the really early pilot show and first episodes of MITD.

Then, as time went on, he wanted to put Heather in his chair

Huh?  If I remember correctly Art tried putting Heather "in the chair" beginning on the very first episode of MITD.  You seem to be forgetting that initially Art wanted her as a full time co-host... doesn't take a genius to see that he was probably planning a nice flighty way out the door before it even began.

For months, Bellgab did a LOT for MITD, and MV moderated the boards sparsely.  Bellgabbers pushed radio stations to carry MITD.  Big affiliates were gained.  And this worked.

Kind of interesting when you think about it... Art needed the help of this place and got tons of it, I'd actually venture to say that the snowballing success of MITD was pretty fucking impressive and much of it came from the same folks here who are now extremely pissed off/disappointed with the guy they tried to help.

I don't know.  It can be a double edged sword obviously, but just remember one thing... Art was lucky as hell to have such a huge, loyal fanbase on bellgab and facebook who came through for him to promote MITD when he needed it done.  In return Art quit yet again and shit all over his fanbase yet again... how could he possibly have not expected the intense backlash??  Folks are SICK of his shit at this point.  Lots of folks probably feel personally betrayed after the effort they put in to promote MITD.

Sounds like a sound plan.  Who gives a fuck about your loyal fans anyways, right?
Those fools will listen to anything after all...

Careful with that premium turmeric.  I heard that side effects can include stalkers that fart in your general direction, which could easily derail a live radio show.

Has anyone considered that the is some kind of hacking going on?
The only hacking around here is the fucking "hork hork" of a cat filling up a puke plate.

What is Gabcast?  I assume that the majority if you here take massive amounts of LSD late at night and talk to inanimate objects, the conversation with those objects is then referred to as the "gabcast"?

OK. So...Everybody kick me if you want, but my guess, Art is not coming back, at least not in any meaningful way IMO.

I hate to say this, but I agree.  Art has officially burned all of his bridges of support... how could he possibly come back from this, even if he wanted to?  He's betrayed so many loyal fans.  His Facebook page is a joke, it's an echo chamber of brainless following fools, but perhaps that's what makes him feel better about all of this.  I think we'd rather just listen to reruns from the 90's and early 2000's and act like Art never came back.

The most shocking thing of all is the amount of respect I have now gained for Noory just because he fucking shows up to work every night.   He may have the conversation skills of a brick wall, but at least the motherfucker shows up and I've learned recently how rare of a skill that seems to be.

Does anyone have a recording of Heather's recent meltdowns?  I cannot listen to her without my testicles shrinking and quivering in pain, otherwise I'd tune in myself to hear the sound of slow twisting metal just like any other good quality trainwreck.  Also I don't want her to mistake me for an actual fan, so I don't want to actually tune in to a live show.

Art, if you're reading this just remember that the trolls cannot define your legacy.  Blame the trolls all you want, but only you can do that and unfortunately it's not looking good.  I really thought that MITD was just as good as the old 90's and 2000's shows... wish it would have lasted.

And by the way, Art, lots of us are sick of hearing how "good" Heather is.  She really truly is not, and I almost wonder if deep down inside you know that, and it bothers you more than the trolls do?

Bitching about audio quality was awesome. I can hear a guest just fine, but he's all uppity about their mic.

To be fair Art runs the show on a headset, so sound quality issues will be noticed by him much more accurately than any AM radio listeners.

I forgot about the Carlin show, definately one of the best.

For anyone who cares... here's a "Very Best of Art Bell" stream from U7radio.  Great source of old shows streaming 24/7.

But not all of it is his expertise.  It is amusing to see him interviewed on television every other day on topics ranging from hurricanes, earthquakes, to his ethereal thoughts on eternal life.  Dr. Kaku is a theoretical physicist.  He's been a great popularizer of science in general, but when he strays from String Theory, and the like, he then ventures outside of his expertise and assumes the role of a reporter.

I agree with you, but even if he wants to discuss his favorite recipe for baking a cake I'm down to listen because at that point he's a theoretical physicist baking a fucking cake.

It's hard to beat Art's shows with Michio Kaku over the years (beginning in '97, as I recall).  Michio's brain is just an endless source of mind blowing information.  I think Art really shined in those interviews because he genuinely loved the topics and did a good job exploring Michio's brain piece by piece the way only Art can do... they are definitely some of my favorites.

even IT has their level 1 techs that are supposed stand at the threshold of computerland waiting to fix all of your problems
"Level 1" is in India nowadays, so you're lucky if they can even speak Engrish.
Keep your asshole nice and lubed up, because thanks to leaders like Obama we'll have even more advanced IT levels outsourced to India soon.

QuoteHeather has done quite well i think will continue to do so.
No offense, but saying something like that doesn't make it a reality for many of us here.  Art Bell fans have high expectations when it comes to someone who was chosen to "replace" him, and they should.  Keep in mind that we've already been burned by having George Noory thrown in as Art's replacement on Coast, now we have Heather as his replacement on MITD.

I tried listening to her.  I truly tried, but Heather just seems like a lost child with a microphone when I hear her on the show.  It's a painful experience to hear her trying to mentally keep hold of a conversation.
