Schrader is definitely up for the task.  I liked his "floogle hopper (?) Jesus in the woods" story.  I always like "floogle hopper (?) Jesus in the woods" stories.  Tomorrow’s "dead bigfoot" show should be interesting.  Will Schrader ask the tough questions these bigfoot folks need to be asked?  I hope he will.
A few months ago, I discovered Schrader's show as an Internet podcast. Good for him, he is good at what he does and the PremRat powers noticed and are giving him a shot. He's a talent.
As for tonight's "I shot Bigfoot" show - didn't Art have a classic episode with a grizzled old hunter named "Bugs" who claimed to have shot a BF in Texas? Eventually proven to be a hoax?? Anyone remember?

I agree.  Some of the shows have good audio, good content, etc.  But some are terrible.  I heard one last night that was apparently recorded in 2012.  It had four hosts all talking over each other, most on horrible cell phones, and one kept trying to be cute - something that fails miserably on radio.

If you're going to do one of these, at least get a good USB audio interface (not a sound card) and a decent microphone.  A Shure SM57 is an all-purpose vocal mic that costs around $100.  A Focusrite or M-Audio two-input interface is another $100.
Good advice - A great all-around mic is a Shure SM57 or SM58 - put them in a shock mount on a boom stand. Put a windscreen on them. And a small audio mixer like a Behringer or Mackey gives a lot of control. Pair this with a software-based audio program, like GarageBand (Apple) or Audacity (Free), a few cables, and you can record a very high quality show. Most of this can be purchased on eBay or Amazon. Maybe $300 for the whole lot. But the main ingredient is interesting content. That can't be purchased...but is most valuable.

I don't know why, but I have re-read this at least four times as this-
Strange finds inside human skulls, including caves.

Maybe it's a reverberation portal from my days as a mental spelunker. Or a topic for a future show? Or, Onan, am I damaged?
Jill says I have a big cave inside my skull...or at least a lot of empty space.

any shows going to be on strange animals/tracks/etc found in caves?  i remember a old art bell show that had bonnie crystal (i think) as a guest. bonnie went into detail on finding strange tracks, large spiders and so on.
Yes. In a few weeks Jill is going to do an audio expedition on strange finds inside caves - including human skulls! Mid-January...Thanks for listening.

Wait, what?
I mean that we. as hosts, should try our best to stay aware of what's going on at BellGab. The conversations/threads here are very relevant to our broadcasts, and the members actually listen to the DMRN.

Punnet just tweeted that he won't be filling in after all due to a dental emergency.  What did we do to deserve this?
This needs to be investigated. Did JBW whack him in the teeth? Did he burn his palate on a pizza roll? I am bummed.

There was a caller on coast the other day that said they and some friends traveled through an underground cave network underneath Denver Airport.

Tuesday Dec 17, guest was William Forstchen and the caller was somewhere in the last hour of the show.
We are "Cavers." There is an amazing world beneath our feet. Some day there may be some exploration $$$ thrown at "Inner space" as well as "Outer Space!"

In August of 2010, a young man from Tennessee travelled to Florida for a scuba diving adventure. He was never seen again. Was it an accident? A hoax? Or something more sinister???
This week on Into The Planet radio.  Saturday, 11PM eastern, http://DarkMatterRadio.Net

Here's a video preview:

Thanks for the support. The first show Saturday at 11pm ET is our "pilot" which we recorded for Keith as a kind of audition - but it is full of good content. We appreciate all suggestions, feedback, and criticism as we make the continuing episodes tighter and engaging.

I really tried to listen objectively. As of this past week, I can say with confidence that C2C has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in common with the program that Art Bell created.

Excellent news. I always liked Ian because he is smart and spiritually intellectual, without being "religious." Always hoped he would have Christopher Hitchens on as a guest - but that can't happen anytime soon. RIP Hitch. Anyway, you can follow Ian on twitter, where he tweets fairly regularly @deaconpunnett

The problem with AJ -...like the sideshow he is, and not to be taken seriously.

While Wells may not have the crazed AJ rant down, I suspect his show is an attempt to tap into the conspiracy cash cow, whether by his or his producers' intentions.
+1
Both shows should have a disclaimer that they are a simple form of "entertainment," and not to be taken seriously. It is mental masturbation.

Wells' program has really drifted. He has talent. He has taste, as illustrated by his musical choices. But what corporate entity is booking his guests and screening his callers? I have a feeling that if he had free rein, his program would be a lot different. But, hey, a guy has to pay the bills, and there aren't exactly dozens of paying gigs available in the genre...

Veering off to AJ. He's certifiable - and stupid like a fox. He has perfected the formula of alternative media resulting in a very lucrative business. I don't agree with most of his B.S., but I admire the alternative network he has built.

There's a guy on WABC in New York named John Bachelor. (sp?) He has an interesting format and is a real radio pro.

We invite you to join us beginning Saturday, December 14 at 11pm ET on DMRN for "Into The Planet" radio.
After much thought, we have decided to "throw in" with Keith and help build something that may very likely be valuable Internet broadcasting real estate as it gets further developed. Obviously, Art has to step back a bit, until his issues with Sirius are resolved. This is a bit disappointing, in that Art's name still carries a lot of weight in broadcasting circles. I'm betting he will be back. And I'm betting he will broadcast from DMRN.
Anyway, here's the scoop on our program: Hosted by myself and extreme explorer, Jill Heinerth, we hope to bring an interesting and entertaining hour of content to DMRN. We will focus on Exploration, Science, Culture, and Current Events. One of the features on each program is taking listeners on "Audio Expeditions."  Here's a link to a video about diving inside the largest moving object on the planet: "ICE ISLAND" our first "AudioEx."

http://youtu.be/SIdoJwLl2tA

Our co-host, Jill Heinerth led a National Geographic underwater team expedition to Antarctica and for the first time in history, they climbed, landed a helo on, and cave dived inside this massive berg.

This remarkable expedition, some "Science Faction" and other good stuff coming your way Saturday nights at 11 Eastern starting December 14th.

Please check out Jill's website at http://www.IntoThePlanet.com

Cheers, Robert
