As far as Art's endorsement meaning something, no it doesn't.  Just because he's a great broadcaster himself, knows the equipment and how to operate it, has been in the industry for decades, and built his program into a popular syndicated show, doesn't mean he is an expert in talent evaluation.  Why would that even be an expectation?  Clearly, he isn't.

You're right. Art was a master at his craft. Batshit or not, he could still make it entertaining, and that was the whole point of it. Whether it was real or not, he made it entertaining. That;s why even alot of non-believers loved the guy, because he was a showman. Simple as that. None like him...

The Art Bell show is over. It's the Heather show now and we're all bummed. I just said give her time. I probably won't as I simply don't have the time to wait to see how good it may get. Art's gone, and here we are.

That seems a bit harsh.

Heather needs time to develop. Anyone in radio needs probably a good year to 18 months to develop and settle into who they will become. Give her that time out of simple respect plus the fact that all of us are on this forum because of Art. His endorsement means something, no matter how small you might regard it.

I don't care for Noory but he is a radio talent, if you want to go that far. Company man all the way and it will pay his bills and I'm sure he's laughing all the way to the bank. His right to work. The last time I had the unfortunate happenstance of using AM radio I heard him doing a show about nutrition. I flipped the car stereo switch to auxiliary input (old ipod full of podcasts i would rather listen to over and over as compared to Noory).

Coming from me, a person who would rather read RCH's obit might seem odd, but damn I still just like listening to how batshit insane he is. Art's done equally batshit shows in the past and has said it himself that 80% of his guest are full of shit and he knows it. He just mastered the craft of allowing them to drone on and make it interesting enough to listen to.
