nuts. imagine the comedy gold within those emails?

While I believe everyone’s entitled to privacy, I guarantee you there’s enough in there to warrant a 5150

I think he's just overtired with doing all his laundry and all.  Especially the green Alien Abductee shirt.

Why is the caregiver not doing his laundry? What the hell is he being paid for? Lazy SOB.

were you not offered the show as well?  or did heather freak on you preemptively?  i can't remember half of this shit.

The show was not officially offered to me. Pete was putting out feelers because he knew he couldn’t sell Heather. I told him it was something I’d have to give some serious thought to, and that I’d get back to him. I think that was on a Friday. By Monday she had found out there were ‘contingency plans’ and she went apeshit.

Listening to the  Bateman/Heather thing on GabCast. Heather was really afraid of having the show taken from her, wasn’t she? other people were in fact offered slots on the network, so what was the issue with Bateman specifically? She wanted do do Art’s show, and would not settle for “less”? Howard Hughes could have actually done MITD (great voice, IMO), but was only offered a spot in the lineup.. as far as I know. Why didn’t she flip out over him?

Seems like a huge misunderstanding on her part? Or paranoia?

Mental illness coupled with the fact that she had my number. She didn’t have Howard’s contact info. She called me in an absolute frenzy after a discussion with Pete the MITD sales guy who told her in so many words that maybe someone else would be a better fit.

Howard Hughes would have been excellent. He didn’t want it.

If, as has been postulated, she is, minimally, a bipolar, if not higher order personality disorder, and upon the death of her 'mentor' she is thrust from the limelight into relative obscurity it would explain, to me, her losing her sense of proportion and her ensuing devolving behavior.

Quitting because of 'cruel treatment' would salve her ego vs failing over plummeting financial support numbers, essentially being voted off the island.

Long time lurker hope it's ok to jump in.

This is a very astute first post.

Jesus Christ where have you been? Did you decide to take HW's lead and move in with LMH?

This place is like a crack addiction. You know it’s bad for and you try to stop, but eventually you wind up back in the gutter with your pants around your ankles. Hello!

Pffft. Heather and Bateman did not negotiate for top billing prior to the airing of that episode. WTF.

This was TheMudKingâ,,¢️ at his greatest.

Co-starring Showroom Dummy and StarrMntn as leading lady. GravitySucks as stunt coordinator.

Lets quit building up a couple of losers that just wanted attention for their cute little podcasts.

Ooh! Someone’s been taking lessons at the Heather Wade School of Sass!

Absolute shit show. Made worse by stop-loss orders orders being triggered.

that had to be the worst super bowl half time show in recent memory.  what happened to the Prince hologram we were promised?  guessing it was running on Windows 10 S and wouldn't boot up so they grabbed a sheet and a projector.

Yeah that was, uh, really something.

The amount of debt that I-Heart owes is staggering, in the billions.  This missed interest payment is around 100 million, and their net income, I think last year, without looking at their financials was around 250,00 million for the year.  There is no way they can make those payments, and  in 2019, a balloon payment is owed.

They owe something like $22 billion total, $8.5 of which comes due at the end of the year. They'll be in bankruptcy court within 6 months.

I definitely see a bankruptcy on the financial horizon with the impact on all of the radio industry being substantial.

Lots of stations will flood the market. Today's best multiple is about 6x cash flow but it will be rare to see that number. 3-4x will probably be the norm as the industry continues to tank. Keep in mind this is all happening while the economy is booming, just wait until things cool off.

I'm not a radio person but it seems like they thought they were too big to realize that what their consumers wanted was important to their business.

I started working for them in 2004 when they were ClearChannel, and I can assure you they never cared about what consumers wanted. They bought up as many stations as they could, all financed, and made nearly every small or medium-market station a syndication mule. They then turned around and sold the whole mess to private equity firms who were dumb enough to buy and masturbated into piles of money.

I would think they would have to renegotiate contracts like Hannity and Rush.

They both got their contracts renewed last summer, and I know at least one of them was until 2020. Those 2 in particular are deemed untouchable in bankruptcy.

There's no real way for iHeart to continue to operate with 850 or so stations. By 2019 some of the smaller and medium market stations will glut the market and find even fewer buyers than the few that have financing now.
