I'm so needing this show tonite.  Auras, energy barriers, ufo's and a nice cabernet is healing my soul.  Thanks for going on with the show Art despite the circumstances.
Ufos do go great with a good cabernet. 😁

I wonder what the ramifications would have been if Art had shot the fucker.  I feel like it should have been justified even if he didn't see a gun, but I'm not familiar with Nevada law.
trespassing, you can be shot. And with the previous trespassing a few weeks ago,........well.....

A couple of professionally trained military grade Belgain Sheperds, and that guy would have been laid out until the Police got there. Art must know some miliTary pro out at Nellis or Creech. Or some of the K9 trainers at Metro. Art, if you need some references, pm me.

When we get out of here I still want the Dachshunds, but I am also considering getting a highly trainable dog that's good for person protection as well. Like a Dutch Shepherd or one of the Belgian Shepherds. I think working with a dog like that would be very satisfying for us both. Just as long as they're cool with the goat.
I worked my dog with a air force k9 trainer that had BelgiAn. Brilliant dog. Not all crazy hyped up, mellow. Loved everybody and all the dogs at the park. But would tear your arm off on command. My dog is a goof ball, I'm still working with her. But I loved that BelgiAn. Always like Shepards. Lots of hip problems anymore.

I worry more about the one dog park I go to also being a gay meetup area (think Grindr) that I do about the bufo toads. I don't dare use the bathroom there and some of the gay people I know won't use it either.
as a woman, there are a lot of places that I am way more concerned about the people than the wildlife. But I take precautions. One metal, and one with teeth.

Very bad news. If you think your dog, even a Great Dane size dog, has gotten ahold of one, stick the garden hose in his mouth ASAP. They go into convulsions.

I had a Bassett growing up. There basically the two sizes up version of the Dachie.
I had a Bassett named Boozer. Love those silly dogs. Had Danes and a Mastiff. Now my third pit bull. Silly girl dog.

hmmmm....always something somewhere to know about. I was up in the Sange de Christo mountains this summer. The thing I was told to watch out for with my dog was porcupins.
"always something somewhere to know about." Christ, I need to go to bed before even better words of wisdom get put up in the word box.

All my Dachshunds have been standards. The youngest one is on the large size and is now a great dog. He was bit reactive when I rescued him but that's been pretty much worked out. Dachshunds like to mess with each other's heads. The sneaky stuff they pull on each other is amazing and clever.

The mucous covering the bufo toad is toxic and will poison dogs, sometime fatally. No fun. They are by one of the dog parks we go to which is just a few miles west of here. If we find one there we just move it outside the fence and let 'em go.

Dan Carlin's "Wrath of the Khans" series- available here for free-- talks about how "we" first started to domesticate horses. I believe he said much the same thing as you.
there no love like the love of a horse. I had seven, but really loved one. She almost killed me a few times, but who counts those things.

I used to worry about my little girl dog (18 lbs.) being a target for the birds-of-prey around here. I don't think there was enough open space for a bird to strike though. I don't worry about my remaining boys (21 lbs. & 26 lbs.). I think they're too big to be taken from above. We have no alligators where I live and in 16 years I have not see a venomous snake. The dogs rule over the iguanas. The biggest hazards for them are humans and maybe a bufo toad. The bufos are in the area, but I've never seen one this close to the ocean.

Yes I have a 26 lb. full in shape Dachshund. He's a good boy. Just don't fuck with him.  ;)
Are the bufo toads poisonous? Those are some large Dachsis. 😁 always humans, the most hazardous.

I have Dachshunds (scent hounds). Being ruled by the nose their exuberance can get the best of them.

Dachshunds are independent operators. They consider all commands as advisory and process commands agonizingly slowly. My youngest dog is one hell of a hunter though.

That said they could probably be trained to avert snakes 'cause them snakes do smell and they could smell a snake way outside its striking range.
LOL. "Dachshunds are independent operators. " Top right contender. With some of the Eagles I've seen, I'd worry about one getting nailed. And, "all commands as advisory." HahhHhhHhA. I soooooooo understand. 😁 p.s. I still laugh about how you use them as a first line of defense as a trip trap.

Siegfried and Roy liked to get in cages and poke wild animals. That outcome was no surprise.
pretty much any animal, including humans, can cause one harm. Bones are going to get broken - horses / dogs, ur going to get bitten - dogs, fish, humans, birds. S & R's tigers are tigers. Not wild in the wild sense as most were hand raised by Roy. But a tiger is always a tiger. Roy loved them......Siegfried did not. Roy was the one that had'd the relationship with them. I'm not sure I would call what he did 'poking.' As in when I rode horses, I don't think I was ripping there mouth out when I pulled back on the reins to make them stop with a bit in their mouth. He might have a rod in his hand, but that may be used as a tapping communication against the body.....not done to hurt, but as a direction, to get attention or awareness......the music in the showroom is so loud, I'm not sure verbal commands would be heard. I have had a the experience  of seeing things in a different light.

I keep telling Mrs. Flash she can't allow the dogs to run wild in the wild. I'm not sure she gets it. I do.
hopefully they have perfect recall command in all situations. But sometimes, that won't keep them safe. There is rattlesnake aversion training in some places.

So whats your point? People who don't follow procedure have accidents? I'm shocked. If the guy who wants a tiger habitat, and he follows the guidelines, there won't be any problems.
Siegfried & Roy have a pretty amazing personal tiger habitat. Noisy.

I've spent years out in the desert on a weekly basis and have seen more coyote than I can count. They are not going to bother you unless they are rabid. And the only time they're going to eat your dog or cat is if they are running lose. I've always Dogs and  out in the desert I rarely let them off leash anymore because of rattlers, coyotes, foxes, badgers, skunks, mt. Sheep and bees. Coyote will follow you, so will foxes. And Cougars. I worry most about animals being rabid as opposed to just being attacked. Except for Sidewinders and Cougars. People that live in golf courses on the edge of the desert worry about their little animals being eaten by wild animals. How about understanding the environment and the animals that were there first then being smart about protecting what you value without killing the wildlife off. The idiot poisoning dogs/coyotes in Pahrump is a fuckhead.

I know!  But what's so interesting, is that I can feel the sensation, I can feel what it takes to lift off -- it's like I should be able to do it when I'm awake, but of course... :-\
have you ever tried any of The Monroe's Institutes 'hemi-sync' cds? I did their Gateway Program years ago. Very interesting.
