"North Korea said Wednesday it had successfully carried out its first hydrogen bomb test, marking a major step forward in its nuclear development, if confirmed.

"The republic's first hydrogen bomb test has been successfully performed at 10:00 am on January 6, 2016, based on the strategic determination of the Workers' Party," a state television news reader announced."

This news was preceded by an announcement from South Korea of the detection of an "artificial earthquake," which usually indicates a nuclear test has been conducted.

I heard about this on a web site discussing the death on the stock market.  Went to Yahoo and found it buried about half way down the news feed.  News at other sites was not prominent either.

Is it really that unimportant of an event, or are they waiting for relatives to be notified?
