This is what Art Bell does with his time now. He monitors an internet message board dedicated to him, waiting for anonymous users to make comments he finds disrespectful. Sick with COPD and Colitis, shitposing on the internet is the only thing keeping him alive.

I’m not a fan of lynch mobs or band wagons, and I’m not going to line up to praise MV or anyone else.

I think that sometimes you have to put on your “big boy pants” and grok that when bad things happens, usually everyone involved shares some of the blame.

The recent blowback actually has nothing to do with Art Bell going off the air after the recent stalker incidents at his home.  If that’s all that had happened, the vast majority of his fans would’ve expressed concern and patience through this.  The blowback he’s received is a cumulative frustration over his previous departures from hosting his shows.  And that’s unfortunate, because his decision to take a hiatus while his family feels imperiled isn’t a valid reason to burn his house down, and in fact, he deserved some measure of compassion and support after being stalked and apparently even intimidated by gun shots at his home.  I don’t think that anyone would’ve expected the intense animosity that he’s been subjected to since his latest departure under these conditions, least of all Art, so it must’ve struck him as a miserable shock delivered at an already terrible time.

MV, your position when the blowback started was very passive aggressive â€" perhaps because you felt personally disappointed by Art’s latest announcement to depart the show, I don’t know, but you chose to sit back and let slip the dogs of war.  Inaction is an action; some of the blame for what has happened since rests upon your shoulders.

A lot of really horrific stuff has been said around here lately.  Innocent people have been dragged into it.  And some of the worst types of people on the planet have basked in the vile atmosphere here.  Art shares some of the blame for that, because his fans have been remarkably loyal and supportive for a long time, and his history of retirements makes many of them feel disposable if not outright betrayed.  But MV also shares some of the blame for leaning back and watching “THE Art Bell Fan Forum” turn into a cesspool of rage directed not only at Art, but also at Heather, and even invoking his most painful and totally unrelated personal experiences involving his family.

I don’t condone Art’s roundabout and conditional threat of legal action, but I understand it.  Many of Art’s fans feel betrayed by his long history of sudden “retirements,” and I understand that.  But imagine how he must feel reading through the hundreds of pages of hateful and often way over the top attacks against him.  He saw this place as a prickly but “vaguely lovable” source of support and a certain level of camaraderie.  Image how he must’ve felt watching this namesake site turned into a shooting gallery against him, where no blow is considered too low.  With my home and career in ruins, an unknown gunman on the loose, and my last refuge for a friendly social media fix turned viciously against me, I’d probably be looking for a way to grab hold of a reign as well.

So I won’t be raising any torches, or raising any glasses, to anyone tonight.

Art, great idea to start out as a small webcaster.   That will give you time to build an audience.  And have a cash reserve to pay the bigger fees when required to.

As far as everyone jumping on this "charge more" bandwagon,  I disagree.  Not everyone will want to pony up $20 a month just for one show.  $5 is more than reasonable for the extra bells and whistles.  Having a donation button satisfies those who wish to donate to the cause.  That is, without forcing people to pay more.

I'm also guessing that the small amount of advertising will bring in plenty of revenue, when the listener count goes way up.  (It's a matter of when not if IMO)
Dude...it's a Starbucks, it's a fucking Happy Meal, per MONTH of Art....Let's loosen up a little

I just could not resist screwing with you all a bit with the change over!

Here is what I can tell you, Keith and I are going to think about this over this Weekend but it looks like instead of making a deal with anybody else we will do it ourselves. We will be on the Internet and everybody will be able to hear the show on Tune In (free app) Worldwide.

If we decide to move forward I will be ordering the gear by Tuesday. The music is taken care of and the time of the show will be 9PM-12AM PT M-F.

The live show will be free, but because we are doing it ourselves we will be depending on people buying membership for 5 bucks a Month which gives you the Podcast and Wormhole and so forth. If they don't we won't get very far because we pay music, Bandwidth, Producer Etc.

We could have signed with a Partner BUT they wanted to put us in a pay wall with other stuff and the price would have been at least double with all kinds of restrictions so we think we will put up the money ourselves and roll the dice. It's a gamble but so is life.

Art

Art....DO IT..... if cost is a big part of the discussion over the weekend, charge MORE, it is worth MORE.

Or when they're presented in a "wall-of-text" like you did.
I didn't even read it until now.
Since you're apparently intelligent you should know better than to present your thoughts in such a lackluster way.
The whole paragraph boils down to "I believe evidence stands over believe", followed by an incomplete and partially wrong discourse about what belief is - which makes it at best an appetizer, and at worst - useless.
Dumbing down is obviously happening. The ruling class of the state does not need too many well educated people, because then their rule would be challenged. They only need enough smart people to be able to maintain control inside the state and prevent competing states to become too powerful.
The less educated are needed for the military and other organizations of control.
Nobody who cares to read your wall-o-text finds it difficult to discern and unpack it, despite its flaws and incompleteness.
"I believe I own a Jeep" was a very bad example. It's not really a believe. It is just a silly thought, and you already know you have the physical evidence.

I also noticed, while reading the article that you linked, that China's dominance in the PISA test is just a huge SCAM, because they only run the test in select cities that have good schools and universities, while all European states use the data from pupils and students countrywide.
If we would run the test like the Chinese do, we'd only PISA-test pupils and students around Harvard, Yale, Oxford, Paris,...

PS. I hope I didn't offend anybody or make anyone feel bad. I love you all, also Mark.Knight. I just found you a bit too boastful, implying that people who don't "understand" your wall-o-text were simply not well educated or less intelligent than you. Sorry for bad grammar, it's not my first language.
PPS. Please don't ban me! I'll try to avoid writing anything negative in the future.

I’ve worked through several M&A projects, albeit in a different industry, and in this has been my experience precisely.  Direct talks with the other party and due diligence often go fairly quickly, particularly if both parties are motivated and want the deal to happen.  Then it goes to the lawyers……and no matter how easily the first part of the process went, no matter how amicable the negotiations went, everyone is just SO happy……the contract drafting processes will drag out for weeks/months.  Something about seeing it in writing makes people become very picky, careful, anal, or whatever you want to call it.

I think it can be a combination of A) lawyers being lawyers, let’s be honest, this is where they make their money, B) Art’s attorney earnestly looking out for Art’s best interests…. Coming off the Sirius debacle, if I’m Art, I’m telling my lawyer “this needs to be fucking perfect, don’t fuck it up” and C) Sometimes one of the parties wasn’t completely forthright during the initial phases, and is now “changing the rules”.

With the deals I’ve worked on, only when C happens is there any real risk of the deal falling apart.  If both parties want it to happen, it will.  People, including Art, need to be patient, and not pee-pee down their leg

Always liked it when Art played Boom Boom Ba.  Wouldn't suggest as an opener, but hope it makes the bumper rotation. Always associate it with Art, something comforting about it.

cweb, if my post "made your morning", I am sorry for you.  You must not have any sort of life!  Poor baby.

I have been impressed with Art Bell since 1995.  After 20 years, it is tough to see him turn tail and plop himself into complete filth.  If you enjoy that sort of stuff, I am sorry for you, too.  What a sad outcome for you.

Well I knew the news was big..but this is EPIC!!!  R.I.P. C2C as we now know it.

Can't hardly wait!!!
Indeed.... I have to say, I was getting amply annoyed with the "in" crowd on this blog, and had promised myself NOT to get sucked back in.....but under the circumstances, there's no way I can stay mad....it's a happy day, indeed.

This whole forum is a tease for anyone who is not in the "club"...I used to have fun coming on here and seeing what the latest speculation on Art's return was and sharing in the anticipation with everyone else...now it's just kind of a bummer because certain folks have been given privileged info...and that's cool...but it kind of kills the vibe of the board for anyone outside the "circle of trust" especially when the main topic of discussion can't actually be talked about.

Certainly not a way to motivate people to "on command" participate in a social campaign or to keep visiting the forum...now someone is going to call me a "davebot" or "jorch"....whatever. Just to be clear I think a lot of you guys really deserve to be insiders for the man power and hours you put into promoting Art on the grass roots level. Mv, Jaz, Bateman...but...I'm probably going to be lurking less from now on and until the show kicks off...it just bugs me waaaaay too much....as an adult... to NOT be in the KNOW on Art Bell news....Lol.  Buncha teases! All of you! Lol.
Will you marry me?  Sincerely....couldn't have said it better myself.

Anyone out there find it in their hearts to PM me the news everyone is buzzing about???  Yes, I've only been a member for a week or two...Yes, I've only posted twice.  Truth be told, I'm not entirely that social....a little shy, but I've been devoted to Art for over 15 years.  I'm dying.

Art,if the bumper music situation starts looking bleak, and is a "deal-breaker" for you........CHARGE US......I don't know what the number is, but I know there is a number that makes this work.  I currently pay for content from two other podcasts, and I would pay five times what they charge me to get you back on the air.

Understand this isn't in your initial plan, but do hope you consider it before hanging it up.
