it was a lube issue.

I knew my $5 / month was finally worth it!

Lube is required pretty much every time, or at least at some point.
I originally thought it was all going to the diaper fund.

So far these have been 3 pretty shitty sets of officials this weekend.   Not sure I want any of them doing the Super Bowl.

Those were all HOME TEAM calls--where the ball is spotted (when possible) 1/2 to 1 yard forward of the true spot...gets a lot of 1st downs for the HT.

I'm picking the Panthers and Steelers today.
I'd really be worried if eddie dean picked the Steelers !!!  He and MK both picked the Bengals last week, thanks again you two.

Reverse MOJO seems to be working just fine.  Big Ben is hurt as usual and AB is concussed and won't play. hmmm oh well.  might be Payton's last game--that's what I'm going with on this one.

Go Steelers

Nice punt by Alex Smith if it stands.
not everyone on the field knew it was 4 down and the consequences of the situation particularly a few defensive players in the secondary...go steelers.

This show is great.  I missed Evelyn and you two have a great dynamic.

It's nice to know that there can be polar opposites reading the same typed lines and thinking something completely different: the magic of BellGab....is there a way to fast forward (in real time) through the parts where Evelyn speaks? Just not worth my time--No problem listening to the other one.

I agree it's a train wreck.

I won't admit to being an expert when it comes to this but I think it is ridiculous that the coaches can dispute anything.

In my game only the umpires (field or goal) can call a score review and only in case where they are not sure a ball was touch before going through or  whether the ball went through the goals or point posts. Neither the players and nor the coaches can dispute a score and call for a review.

No one can dispute foal decisions in game. If the umpire make a mistake then the umpire makes a mistake.

NFL is very different to my game as the NFL is very stop start and AFL is more free flowing. Stopping to review every umpiring decision in Aussie Rules would totally ruin the game.

The information provided on a ticket from an NFL game states in so many words or less that what your are watching is considered "Entertainment" not "Competition".   I always have a problem distinguishing between the two while I'm watching an NFL "Game".

Can't recommend this enough. Punnett did an excellent show about it.

The compelling thing about the JFK rabbit hole is the unbelievable amount of other weirdness and shenanigans going on around that time.

Garrison Tapes and Clay Shaw are all you need to get a good head start, it's more of a rabbit warren once you get started into it.

I'm pro-squirrel.  They are good hunting

I shot a bunch for an old woman one time and she thoroughly cussed me out for only shooting them in the head.  Said I ruined the best part.

There is a really nasty prion related disease that you get from eating squirrel brains... the rest of the meat is wonderful; even compared to wild rabbit.  Squirrel is definitely my favorite rodent, much better than ground hog and much much better than muskrat.  Hmmm... smoked muskrat quite the experience.

I know you were just trolling and trying to create conflict where there was none but the truth is there is no animosity between any of us and MV. I fully understand MV's new direction with the GabCast and I agree with and applaud it. It's great hearing new voices of posters and to have the many different points of views of people from this site that I love.

But does that mean I can never do another podcast again?

If it wasn't for finding this site and enjoying MV's talent at hosting I would never have been opened up to this world of podcasting. I love doing it and really enjoyed the people I was hosting with. I owe all that to MV. Just because we're doing a new project and continuing something I enjoy doing doesn't mean I won't occasionally join in cohosting the GabCast. I'm a member of this site and an avid listener of the show. To suggest there is any animosity is insulting and an effort to troll. If there was any bad blood between MV and I would I be assisting him daily with the live threads?

I probably shouldn't have even given you the satisfaction of a response but just wanted to put it out there on front street lest people believe the bullshit that flows from your keyboard. Grow up old man. Good day sir.

Well put Jaz...

Have you ever thought about running for president (either down under or up and over)?  Don't worry about citizenship status, doesn't seem to make any difference any more for a few of the previous and potential new candidates as well !!!

Yeah I'm fairly certain the sofa incident was from an earlier interview, it sounds familiar I just can't place my finger on it and I didn't really feel like calling her out. So unless he's made two couches disappear (which maybe wouldn't surprise me)...But regardless, the fact that Art's kept in touch and plans on talking to madman again just makes me happy. With a grain of salt that will make for some entertaining radio I'm sure.
Gabcast caller mentioned contacting MadMan directly.  Caller said he knew MM's mother.  MM was being hit from two directions if that were all true...Art calling him and this other fellow contacting him directly and calling The Gabcast.

Sumatran Madheling, light roast

I always roast my Sumatran to just before second crack...makes it more like city plus with hints of darkness but not quite there.  No oily eruptions on the beans even after several days post roasting.  It's all in what you like  :)

On tonight's c2c, Noory apparently will be announcing the change of his "science advisor" from Hoagland to Robert Zimmerman.
Noory will have Zimmerman on tonight for "periodic Pluto updates" - but the problem is that c2c's time period is too early ending at 2AM PT, the first Pluto data won't be received until at least an hour later than that.
Hoagland on the other hand will start his marathon Pluto special at 3AM PT Tues morning and run for up to 6 hours on the Dark Matter network.
Noory blows it again...  8)

Well I missed it again...MV, how come no mass email alert? I am pretty sure I opted in...I got one for the last show?

Anyhow...what did I miss? Can I get a quick recap? Any new info?

I'm pretty certain MV is training us to listen to the stream regardless of a live show or not...just tune-in to the stream at 8PM (eastern) on Tuesday, and if the Bell rings you can listen as if it were a live show, regardless of your state of mind or the crew doing the podcast...nicely done MV.

Hope that all makes no sense at all...See you all next Tuesday evening!

why leave your dog out? the ultimate dog biscuit:

Stinkin’ Dog Treats
recipe courtesy Alton Brown, 2014
1 small sweet potato, approximately 8 ounces
10 ounces old fashioned rolled oats, approximately 3 cups
3 ounces oil packed sardines, drained
1 large egg
1 ounce unsalted peanut butter
2 teaspoons fish sauce, optional

Procedure:
1. Heat the oven to 350 degrees F.
2. Pierce the sweet potato several times with a paring knife, then microwave on HIGH for 6 to 8 minutes, or until tender.
3. Meanwhile, grind the oats in a food processor for 3 minutes or until the consistency of whole wheat flour. Remove the oats from the food processor and set aside.
4. Combine the sweet potato pulp, sardines, egg, and peanut butter in food processor. Pulse 10 to 12 times until the mixture forms a thick paste, there will be some lumps.
5. Add 2 cups of the ground oats and pulse an additional 10 to 12 times, until the mixture starts to come together. Similarly to pie dough, it will look dry but should hold together when pressed.
6. Sprinkle your work surface with some of the remaining oats and roll the dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut into treats using a pizza wheel or cookie cutters. (Size of cookie cutters used: 2 inch)
7. Bake on a parchment paper-lined half sheet pan for 30 to 40 minutes or until treats appear dry and lightly browned on the bottom. Turn off the oven, brush with the fish sauce, if desired, and let the treats dry in the oven for 1 hour.
8. Store in an airtight container for 1 week or freeze for up to 3 months.
Yield: 40 two-inch treats

i leave out the peanut butter and substitute coconut oil. also leave out the fish sauce. my dogs go apeshit over these things.
you can substitute any fish you have on hand (ive used canned salmon and tuna), although my dogs like the sardines the best.
i usually double the batch, and freeze them all, save 10 or so out at any one time to use for treats.

Yes, this looks like something I might like as well  ;)

just be very aware the certain PB brands have xylitol as a sweetener...  do not use any of them for dogs

http://www.preventivevet.com/dogs/is-peanut-butter-safe-for-dogs, yep my neighbor says his dog loves PB out of the jar directly on celery !!!!

Thanks for all who had comments about the topic. It is nice to see where peoples heads are at outside the group I deal with. I learned a lot and hope to put it to good use!!1

Therefore it makes perfectly logical sense to replace one bad idea with another bad idea just because the base concept is to put your fat ass on the ground and roll around on some skinny little surface connected from one end of where you start to the other end... Get your ass off the ground and put the $$$ where you get the most bang for the buck.  If you're going to maintain something then make it only one thing and not both the vehicle and the road surface.

Think of it -- computer controlled (we won't be driving our own cars in another 5 years) mini blimps with solar cells on top of the blimp.  You take your power with you where ever you go or buy some fuel; could have gasoline option for night flying/clouds/etc, but smart engineers can figure all of that out, no matter how difficult the problem.

Yes, engineers can be very smart -- a whole new industry based on installing, maintaining, and constantly cleaning every square inch of our newly created road surfaces would be valued as critical work thus providing a better place for mankind.

However, being Wise comes from a different part of the brain.  All those road surfaces are gone and the earth shows itself again in places we haven't seen for hundreds of years.

There's some Navel gazing and I wasn't doing anything...I swear.
