Probably more visits with Doc Wallet or one of his buddies?   :o

So Georgie's long years of work trying to capture Linda's heart has come to a crashing end. Onward and Upward dear Noory.  You can still win the love of the fair numbers lady maiden, Glynis McCants.

She has your number Georgie.

Sounds like a replay show, must be a problem at Knapp's studio tonight... :o

Hi everyone Sorry but we have a technical issue. The phone line connection is down. Will keep trying to connect but it looks like we will have to reschedule Linda Howe and Nick Redfern. An earlier recorded program will air instead. Apologies.

Thanks Morgus!  I figured Snoory had put the axe to the interview because Linda is his girl and not Knapp's.

From what it sounds like the final stages of COPD consist of- I would have offed myself with narcotic medication- Just going to sleep sounds a whole lot better than fighting for each and every breath.

I was a heavy smoker and this was the catalyst that got me to quit- All last winter I had a horrible cough that wouldnt go away and bordered on bronchitis and I was starting to get pretty concerned and then I heard about Art dying (even if it turns out to have been at his own hand it would have been more euthanasia because of the COPD) and I gave em up. The cough is already gone and I canmt ever remember breathing this well.

Still have half a carton in the freezer and no ghosts stealing them as of yet.

I'm now a bit past a month and a half of being (cigarette) smoke free- I had done alot of thinking over this and I dont want to ever find myself in a place where i'm in such pain that I would willing take my life- And in the late stages of COPD I would have to face that choice.

Congratulations and thanks for sharing!  I hate the big tobacco companies that have taken so many special people from our midst.  Maybe we would still be hearing new classic Art shows if tobacco had not robbed us of the pleasure.  Maybe Art's death did some good by helping you to quit.  Spread the effect and tell all your friends to stop using tobacco.  If there are any folks growing tobacco out there, let me plead with you to stop growing it and choose some other crop.

Small world???  NO COINCIDENCES:

Art worked at KUDE out of Oceanside (a couple of miles north of me...)
https://www.radiodiscussions.com/showthread.php?496572-If-I-was-your-newsman-see-your-doctor

Karen Jackson...  WENT TO HIGH SCHOOL AT OCEANSIDE HIGH.

She claims she didn't meet Art until Ramona's funeral in Pahrump.

(Additionally:  Bill Balance was a perv.  Balance was on KFMB in San Diego and my sister got into a phone (possibly more) relationship with her.  He used the term "dear" when talking to his women minions.  Big radio voice, not unlike Art's as I remember (just a kid then).

Possible Art Bell influence???

Thanks for the info!  I agree that Balance looks a lot like Art and definitely sounds a lot like Art.  Maybe he was an influence.  Good find on the Balance recording.

I found a bit more on the 1970s Art Bell on a discussion page for old radio pros:

A guy listed as Bob Hudson says:

Art and I were at KUDE in 72-73. After that he ran an adult bookstore in Vista for awhile and even made the newspapers because of a
"swinger's club" he operated. Then he went up to Alaska and started doing his copy of the Bill Ballance Feminine Forum talk show. That was, I believe, Art's first talk show.

KO worked in San Diego at KGB as Bob Elliott so he may have had some San Diego County ties that brought him to Oceanside for a while (it certainly wasn't the money or the prestige). When FM started to ascend in the mid to late 1970's a lot of Top 40 AM jocks began to have a tough time getting gigs and KO was not the only one who'd done Bill Drake Boss Radio and ended up at (or at least stopped by) KUDE.

Just posting more news relating to our discussion.  Make of it what you will.  Maybe someone on that site could be contacted by Liberace?

It just reminds me of a quote that's stuck with me for years. "You have to keep the people who do things apart from what they do." Art was a great radio host. Was he a great person? Most likely not, but who am I to say?

I have also heard the sayings "goodness and greatness are separate issues." and "never judge the value of an idea by the actions of those who supposedly believe it and follow it."

Was that from one of those 'Star Olympics" shows in the 70's NBC vs. ABC Vs. CBS...

Looking back, I'm not sure I miss the 70's all that much.

Telly

That was from Vince McMahon's first WrestleMania on March 31, 1985.  The show consisted of nine professional wrestling matches. In the main event, Hulk Hogan and Mr. T defeated Paul Orndorff and Roddy Piper. Also, Wendi Richter (accompanied by manager Cyndi Lauper) defeated Leilani Kai to win the WWF Women's Championship, and Nikolai Volkoff and The Iron Sheik defeated The U.S. Express (Mike Rotundo and Barry Windham) to win the WWF Tag Team Championship.

Aside from Lauper, other celebrities also appeared during the buildup to and at the event; most notably Muhammad Ali, Liberace (with The Rockettes) and Major League Baseball manager Billy Martin all appeared during the main event.

Just throwing this out there...

I remember back in the 90's at the end of Art's show he would mention something about a Philipina Hoax and he had a link on his website that he would direct listeners to that explained the situation.

Wasn't it a rumor/hoax that Art was running a Philippina prostitution business...?

After the latest AB revelations, it kind of makes ya wonder.

Yes, here is a link to that letter:
https://www.pinoyexchange.com/discussion/349866/anti-filipino-letter-by-nevada-radio-host-art-bell

It also was tracked down to San Diego so it probably involved one of Art's ex-clients?

The golf show was just probably yet another False Flag operation.  :D

I haven't heard Jimmy Church too much, but guess I will tonight. If they take on the fake news problem, I'm guessing they'll distort it, and we won't know any more about spotting it than we did before.

Bingo!  You already have the show down without listening.  If everything is fake, then how do we know anything?  Do we even exist?

I think the Malibu thing is just treated as a given now.  The real action these days is in Antarctica.

Yes, Antarctica is really hot right now.  Buzz Aldrin & John Kerry were among the big names that took recent trips down there.  They are supposed to have located ancient structures and bodies of 14 foot tall pre-Adamites.  The Blue Avians are down there leading the fight against the NWO crowd.

A special chance to enjoy even more of the great Dave Noory.  He is to be the guest on Jimmy Church's Fade to Black tomorrow night 2-8-17 (9-12 Central).  A great way to enjoy extra torture IMO.

Welcome to THE A. Bell forum!

I detest Alexander Graham Bell for creating that infernal monster, the telephone.  Every time I sit down to enjoy a meal or watch something interesting, that intruder rings.  It is always someone trying to sell something or shame me into making a donation to something.  I slam the phone down and curse the name of Mr. Bell.  Without his invention, life would be do much more peaceful.  If we could time travel, I would like to go back and stop his meddling.   >:(  :-*

?  Are you talking about last night?  I can't bring myself to listen to any of the usual conspiracy shows that I listen to because they're all reveling in His Orangeness.  So ... if you're talking about what happened last night, do tell.

I assume they are talking about a caller that I believe is named Dino.  Jimmy went an extra hour to cover the election and took calls from his regulars in that hour.   Anyway, Dino was discussing the election and getting ready to make a point.
Jimmy interrupted him.  Dino responded "Hold it....".
Jimmy then went postal.  He said that no one calls his show and tells him to hold it.  He cut off Dino and reminded the listeners that it was his show, it was done for himself, and he would not take orders from any listener,  blah blah blah.

Hey kids,

I just wanted to let y'all know that we have re-launched UFONAUT. We have free podcasts available, and we are live Monday nights @ 9PM PST - 11. No agenda except to MAKE UFOLOGY RELEVANT AGAIN!

www.psn-radio.com/mondays/ufonautradio/

Glad you are back.  Heard the show and it was great!  I really enjoyed Angel carving up Jimmy Church and all the frank opinions of some of the more well known folks in UFOlogy.  Great show to listen to after Nancy & Bill finish up on Monday evenings.

I really enjoy the Friday open lines with Sarradet and Ecker.  I usually listen each Friday night and it reminds me of a small group of friends sitting around and discussing the paranormal and life in general.  Sort of like the talk at the barber shop when I was a kid.  The only problem is that they often have repeat shows on Fridays.  Also, do not let them get on political issues as they are as far left and far right as any duo can be and the show disintegrates into a shouting match.  Still, it is good to see that two people with such different political views can unite on the paranormal and seem to be genuine best of friends.

Heard JC take a shot at Art at the end of tonight's show (February 12, 2016).  It was in the final 30 minutes.  Jimmy was talking to a caller and heard a sound on the line.  JC said "Wait a minute, I think I just heard gun shots outside.  I guess I better retire."  He followed with "I'm sorry.  I just had to do that."

Someone (Barfly?) on one of the discussion blogs mentioned that he thought he had known Heather's dad well, that he was a fine broadcaster, and that he really missed him.  Could Heather be the daughter of an old broadcasting compatriot of Art's?  Maybe he was trying to get her into the business as an old favor.

I didn't listen, but I am curious if/how the show changed your opinion on the whole "Art quit MITD because of a terror stalker who he felt endangered him and his family" drama.  Not judging, nor do I care, if you believe or disbelieve the story, just interested in if anything you heard tonight changed what/how you believe.

I still suspect that we have not been told the whole story but what I heard tonight was believable and Art was consistent.  I am not sure that we will ever hear the whole truth but I am now more at ease with the decisions that have been made.
