Good question! I wonder myself where TV boy went to.
Does anyone know what happened to him?

Bateman is a guy who is genuine and intelligent  and really does in many ways carry the torch from Art.
Big kudos and appreciation for John Batchelor and his crew at the radio station.
Looking forward to next weeks segment.

For those who do not know what we are referring to, Anthony George Senda admitted in a leaked audio file that he was sexually attracted to underage little girls.

I agree with the others- do what you like. Remember those open lines shows you did? People seemed to think those were pretty fun. Were they necessarily paranormal? Some got political.

People remember Art as the king of the paranormal genre, but he could get political. He could talk current events. He even touched on sports. If it was interesting, he wanted to discuss it.

You could always do a test show here or there to see what the response is like. Try a few things and put them up for download. Watch the numbers. If the numbers suck and the feedback is bad, oh well. Like it has been said recently- one bad show won't kill you.

Is it better to turn off fans with no show, or just turn off a few by saying something they disagree with? Talk radio should never be a safe space.

Regardless of what you do, many people here wish you the best.
You are knowledgable, talented and we enjoy listening to you.  I even enjoyed the shows that weren't quite my thing - like the flat earth interview.  But you made it interesting - because you LISTEN and ask the appropriate questions.    I concur, do what you like - follow your heart.

I'll have to take a listen.

We used his books when we visited Italy.  They were very accurate. In fact I was holding his guide book as I entered Pompeii and one of the tour guides came running over to me and said "I'm in his book!  He recommended me as the best guide here!" then he showed me the page - and sure enough there he was.  Having that tour guide made all the difference in the world. Yes, I'm a fan Rick Steves.

Thanks Brig, hope I didn't sound too loopy. I have a horrible cold and was all hopped up on cold medicine and bourbon shots (for medicinal purposes). Indeed, the idea of being trapped and retreating into a virtual reality seems disturbing. But it really just goes back to the brain in the jar concept of Descartes, if you replace all sensory input with artificial input, then that brain cannot tell that it's living in a virtual reality. For all we know, we're doing that right now. We could be trapped in a mine living in a virtual reality as we speak and because we have only our senses to describe the world around us, we might never know any better. Fool the senses completely and you have a new reality every bit as real as the "real" world as far as you're concerned.
You sounded great! Knowledgable and well spoken.

Seriously Steve, I thought that your test show (THANKS BRIG!) was pretty damn good.  I enjoyed it, even with the unpreparedness (I didn't notice any, really). The fact that you only had four callers, didn't matter at all. You engaged each caller, personally and got the best out of what they had to bring to the table.

Show notes? We don't need no stinkin' show notes! You were, to some degree, knowledgeable in every subject that came up and could converse, confidently and fluidly, on multiple topics. If there is one thing that you can do, it is talk.

Not to suck your dick, but you are very good at what you do. What you did with this test show, is demonstrate, without a doubt, that you can indeed do the 'live thing'... and do it well. I could tell that you were having fun and it made me, as a listener, want to be a part of that. No matter how much one might be 'getting better every day', you just can't fake that.
- or fake natural talent, very well stated Bellboy!
