I caught part of the show when that woman UFO investigator was on.

George: "Can you tell us about your near-death experience?"

Her, laughing: "Do you have five hours?"

George: "We can squeeze it out for you."

Much like he does every night on the radio.

Digimon program? Just dump this lame ass prank caller.

I'm doubting this guy's scientific credentials.

I love that he's using The Chase for the intro. It's his theme; Coast should've dropped it a long time ago.

Technology / Webcam Recommendations
July 19, 2015, 02:09:01 PM
I'm wondering what people would recommend as a webcam/headset/microphone setup for a PC that's with the times technologically but not too expensive.

I'm going to use it for Skype, other such communications, maybe VLog or create a podcast or something.

As usual, Amazon reviews for stuff are too mixed of a bag to be helpful.

Thanks

Seems like when they do get around to open lines, the tent revival crowd is being outpaced by the paranoid "race war" or just plain racist callers. I appreciate George not entertaining them too long, and in some cases cutting them right off.

Radio and Podcasts / Re: Connie Willis

I've never made it through an entire Connie show because she's kind of insufferable to listen to. But I heard most of the interview with McMoneagle and she was much better--more subdued, no HEY YA'LL WE'RE JUST HANGING OUT HERE AFTER MIDNIGHT TALKING CREEPY STUFF WHOOO I'M STONED.

Though she did throw in an extremely out of place Bill & Ted style "Excellent!" after one statement.

I think all hosts other than Knapp need to drop their cutesy show intro lines. Especially since she says she's just outside of Area 51, but is also broadcasting from Louisville?

I don't know if this fried his brain, but your post made me recall an old interview he did about the concept of a Binary Soul. This guy had been on with Art before and was pretty interesting. His wife had committed suicide.

Midway through the interview, George said "If the Grim Reaper came along and a guy had two souls, which one would he take?"

The guest got really offended and gave a terse reply about the idea not being a fairy tale. I think his name was Peter Novak.

She only needs a quarter of a million dollars:

Medication poisoning sounds pretty serious.

I loved the show she was on with Art, because unlike Weeber, he wasn't buying into her in the slightest. And notable for the last caller telling her she was really condescending and full of herself.

Too bad I bought a MITD subscription or I'd gladly help her out.

Really?  So Dave is all sweetness and light on the show, but that's just a cover for a short tempered bully?

That's what happened? I woke up, turned on the radio just in time to hear Dave say "Richard, stop it..."

I thought wow, did I just miss a classic on-air slapfight or something?

Tonight might just be a full 4 hours of Hoagland's breathless raving, followed by UFO Phil and call it a night.

Why bother with the half-show, half-assed opened lines anymore.

I love my Clip+

If I needed a replacement I would try the Sony NWZE384 Walkman MP3 player. Not too expensive and the Amazon reviews are much more positive than most of the other mp3 players on there.

I've really enjoyed reading this thread; but I don't think I've seen my two favorite Noory lines. Both are from about three years ago.

(1) He was introducing Dr. Morgus (I think), and screwed it up so badly it came out as him introducing his "childhood boyfriend." To make it even better, he let out this really disgusted sigh before correcting himself.

(2) He was doing a commercial for something and fumbling the lines completely. In the midst of it, he said, "Come on George, spit it out!" It was so self-deprecating I had to laugh.
