Republican and Democrat doesn't matter anymore.
for me, this is what much of the current political climate boils down to.  if the republicans sweep the senate and house in november, i'll respond by squeezing a gasser.  it will literally affect me about that much.  it's amazing how my perceptions have changed.  ten years ago, a republican sweep would have me looking for a roll of bounty towells to clean up after myself.

i just can't take it anymore.
Maybe I'm in a funk, but listening to Julian Cribb talking about the impending world famine has got me thowing up my hands and saying, "screw this."  How is anybody supposed to deal with economic disaster, global climate whatever, famine, and (we learned today) a couple of asteroids zipping by the earth and we didn't see them coming until three days ago?  It seems the only guy with a plan is ole grandpa down in Florida who, in spite of the entire world telling him not to do it, is gonna have a little cook out this weekend and risk engulfing the planet with the bloody vengeful wrath of the religion of peace.
I've been in this funk before.  It usually goes away by the time the sun comes up.

Anyone willing to call out the present administration for what it is, name the communist and socialist that work for him, hammer the radicals that President Obama hung out with, connect the dots of hope and change and George Soros, use old fashioned blackboards instead of those stupid whiteboards that you can never really get all the ink off of, gather 500,000 regular, normal, pissed-off Americans to Washington D.C. and not burn the place down, lose his sanity in front of a national audience for the sake of something bigger than himself, and wear Converse All Stars, is alright by me.

communists?  do you prefer Obama's "communism" to Bush's Plutocracy?  the only people Bush helped were the rich.  how is that more honorable than helping people who work for a living?
This is a false dichotomy. Bush started the Wall Street bail out and Obama continued it. Proving once again that despite all the bluster all major politicians agree on one thing; take care of the people that fund the campaigns first, everything else is window dressing.

it's just that the american way of life does not correspond at all with the manner in which the islamic belief system would have one live.  just go ask a muslim, or take a look at the many incongruities between sharia law and american law.  i don't know anybody in my personal life who would be prepared to adhere to that system.  while most muslims aren't extreme in their beliefs and don't push for the imposition of sharia law on infidels, the cream tends to rise to the top.  the most vocal, extreme, oppressive, intrusive members of any belief system, while a minority, are always the party most responsible for exacting change, be that change social, legal, or spiritual in nature.  it's the case in nearly every revolution i can think of.

nobody is saying we should live under sharia law.  merely tolerant of a religion.

since we've opened the door to political discourse ... which seems to frequently descend into flat out argument ... i'm just going to state a few things i believe to be true or a close approximation of the truth

1) our government has been hijacked by corporate interest
2) there's little difference between Dem/Repub.  lesser of two evils
3) we desperately need to dismantle our current government / military
4) US foreign policy is creating more problems than it is solving - STOP
5) US needs to stop being global bully
6) i'm for a civilian work/peace force that would be akin to a 2 year tour in the military.  focus on domestic programs.  everyone would be trained in firearms and self defense

there.  chew on that.

and for the record ...  the disclosure movement isn't going anywhere.  our government would never disclose the truth about ET's because it would mean we'd be pressured to share that information with our allies.  this is more dangerous than atom bomb / hydrogen bomb tech.

and how did this get stuck in the GN Sucks thread?  maybe we need to move this to another thread/forum?

b_dubb

it's one dimensional because i didn't want to take a lot of time writing a post about alllll the things that are messed up with the US under a post titled "George Noory Sucks! -- The Definitive Compendium"

i'm punching out of this thread.  ciao

ps - also ... i think we should close our borders.  it's too easy to become an American citizen IMHO

Yeah politics are lame and honestly don't matter. Back to something we can all agree on, George Noory needs to fall down a well and have the top welded shut.

NightOwl

Well I'm listening to Robert Shapiro right now and after the first 1/2 hour ... it's so obvious Noory hasn't a clue as to his idiotic
patronizing manner. As Mr. Shapiro tells the story of what happened with his son and the disease of alcoholism, george repeats
everything he says as though having no real connection to what is being said--totally playing the radio. He's totally f-ing sappy/cheesy
it;s embarrassing listening to him. This is totally opposite as to how Art would conduct this interview(or anyone else for that matter)

He's doing again now... 2nd 1/2 hr, repeating Shapiro's words  ... what a dope.

Listening to George last night. He has it all figured out. The UFO/alien agenda...They are making hybrids so that when humans destroy themselves and the planet these hybrids will be able to take over and live on Earth. How many times did he mention that in a 40 minute interview? By the 3rd time I got the impression that Yvonne Smith was saying, get over it, there is no proof of anything and I am not going to agree with you just because you are George Noory.

Way to kill a good interview George. He was doing so well at the beginning ad even going into the 1st break.

robey1129

So now, not only has Snoory ruined C2C, but I come to my only respite, C2C Gab (GEORGE NOORY SUCKS thread, I remind you), and find this right wing, left wing debate goin' on. Common people...can you take that meaningless horseshit somewhere else?
It was nauseating to listen to Bore Head try and conduct an intelligent interview last night. Talking to the alien hybrid lady, whoever she was: "Do you think they know they have a purpose?" "Why would they (the aliens) do this?" "Maybe they...well...they are getting prepared for, say, when an asteroid hits planet Earth....but I'm thinking...if they are that intelligent to make hybrids why don't they just zap the asteroid....or, maybe, they know something about the pollution, so they are making them (hybrids) so they can breathe when we can't and they can take over."
Where's Maury Povich when we need him?

I don't know.  I think they are making hybrids.  Have you ever noticed just how much Asians look like greys?  They have super high test scores, pioneer many technologies and are virtually hairless.  My husband is Korean and I've almost convinced him.   ;D

i am beginning to think Noory is ADHD or just plain ADD.  maybe he should start endorsing Ritalin?

re: the recent abduction episode ... they didn't discuss sleep terror which explains most abduction stories that begin with someone in bed and then not being able to move when alien critters enter the bedroom.  also they never discussed how hypnosis can be used to create false memories or memories of events that never happened.  keep in mind that the hypnosis that 'researchers' use to reveal hidden memories from abductions is the same hypnosis that night club performers use to make someone from the audience do all manner of crazy stuff.  because hypnosis is a state were people are really, really open to suggestion.  which makes most/all of these hypnotic regression therapies very suspect

punkinpie

b_dubb, did you catch Rick Collingwood's show about hypnotism a while back?

I found him very interesting.  He said that there are hypnotists who use their skills for evil, like putting someone under hypnosis in a matter of seconds and stealing their wallets.  That was unsettling.

Do you think that many of the abduction stories that we hear are implanted false memories?  That's interesting to think about.

I recently watched Close Encounters of the Third Kind for the first time.  It made me wonder if that movie influenced the stories that we hear of abduction or if the movie was inspired by personal stories.  I was three when the movies was made.  I wonder if prior to that the descriptions of greys were the same or did they change?  It was probably the first time that we were exposed visually and on a national level to an ideal of what an alien looks like or moves like.

I also wondered if the game Simon was inspired by that movie. :)

i think Bud Hopkins is definitely in this group.  if you read the interviews you see how he's asking questions that are leading.  even asking the question is leading if the subject is in a highly suggestible state as they would invent something if they had no recall of the event

absolutely.  i think a lot of abduction stories are false memories. however i find the story of betty and barney hill to be believable if only because it occurred years before the abduction scenario had seeped into popular culture (well there were some cheesy 50's sci fi movies)

may have influenced subsequent abductee reports.  however ... betty and barney hill predate Close Encounters by about a decade

I couldn't agree more. What really drives me nuts about it is the insane double standard. We have an open debate and vote on gay marriage, some states allow it some don't. For that we hear 'hate crime', 'human rights abuse' etc. Meanwhile in many Muslim countries homosexuality is punishable by death. But that's okay, we have to be tolerant of their culture.

The same people that go all wharglle bargle over Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson seem to be willing to tolerate much more horrible behave in the name of religion,as long as it is a non-Christian religion.

Scottish guy Malcom Robinson (paranormal stuff) the first hour, then open lines.  Among George's really bad habits is his tendency to try an finish someone sentences.  He did that with a lot in his horrible interview with Robert Shapiro a few nights back, and he did it all night tonight, and he always gets it wrong.  Always.  Very embarrassing.  JC called in tonight and George steered him away from any talk about Muslims, and later some kid called in and claimed he was 500 years old.  What would it hurt George to grill the little liar and show him for what he was?  George was enthralled and, after the call he said he believed him.  Really?  You got a call from someone you believed was 500 years old and you couldn't give him more than five minutes?

i think selective tolerance indicates something other than tolerance.  it indicates an agenda being disguised as tolerance, and most of the people who are a part of it don't even know THEY'RE A PART OF IT.  i find it ironic that the people most likely to tolerate islamic extremism are the people whose lives are lived in a way that is far more incongruent with the beliefs of islamic extremists than anyone else in america.  in other words, they'd be the first to have their throats slit at night in bed.

and robey...
don't sweat it that the thread has taken a momentary turn toward the political.  it's bound to happen from time to time, and it's not a permanent fixture or anything.  it's just the natural ebb and flow of a conversation going where it will.  you'd be hard pressed to find a single thread on this entire forum where people stayed "on topic," because it's just something we've never troubled ourselves to enforce.

i live in a college town and i hear a lot of college kids and intellectual types ridicule christians and christianity but every other faith is treated with the utmost respect and sensitivity.  double standard?  yes.  and for all the talk about tolerance and diversity they are frequently just a bunch of posers.  a lot of 'Left' politics on campuses / college towns are just fashion.  challenge that view and you're ridiculed.  amazing how two extremes become almost indistinguishable

Let's face it, that has everything to do with the fact that in America, when it comes to someone pushing religion down your gullet and pointlessly interjecting it into conversations, it's naturally Christians who are doing it the most, which is why people get so irritated at them. When's the last time a Muslim or Jew tried to convert you? Maybe in other countries it's different. It's like how I hate both the Red Sox and the Yankees, but because I live in New England I hate the Sox more because I have to hear Red Sox fans say stupid shit 24/7. If I lived in NYC, I'd be the other way.

i used to live in western kentucky, and they're huge UK fans there.  i didn't understand it at all.  i'm not a fan of any professional sports team, NEVER MIND a college team.  to me, caring about college sports is like being interested in little league sports or the local high school team.  it's just anathema to me and serves no purpose in life whatsoever.  PERIOD.  i used to work at a radio station where some douche would regularly call me up and start trying to chat me up about the local high school teams.  talk about pointless dreck.  a tsunami of floating baby heads couldn't get this asshole to shut up and put the phone down.  never in my life have i come across a more pointless waste of telephone time.  you want my analysis of how the high school basketball team did this weekend?  ok, here it is:  fuck you.
