I'll be honest here: this is almost precisely how I felt about the Obama presidency, eight years ago. "This is gonna be great, hells yeah!!!"

So, ask yourself... has it been? Well, for me, it's been a little column A, and a little column B, and a whole lot of wtf.

I have yet to find out if I have the sack to actually vote for Trump when the day comes, but this time, I probably won't be thinking quite so much about how great the schadenfreude is gonna be. (spoilers: it's gonna be awesome)

I think the WTF moments of a President Trump would be hilarious.

If it comes to Trump vs Hillary, while I'm not his biggest supporter, I'd crawl over broken glass to vote for him to keep her out of the White House. Imagine that shrillness for 4/8 years? *shudders*

Cruz is a slimy, calculating phony who can't possibly win a general election and his campaign has too many special interest connections to accomplish anything meaningful once elected.  america doesn't want a preacher in chief.

Sadly I took that quiz posted a few weeks ago & was tied with Cruz & Rubio. Ugh please shoot me now

Ted Cruz is Hollywood casting for a B-movie swarthy sleazy slimy televangelist. He reminds me of Ernest Angley.

I grew up in the DC area. When I was a kid I'd watch WWF rasslin' Saturday mornings at 11AM on Channel 20. The show preceding rasslin' at 10AM was Ernest Angley. I remember catching the last few minutes of his show where he'd say things like "reach into your pocket...that money there...it's GOD'S money & he wants you to send it to me!" Even as a kid I knew he was full of shit. It was also the first inkling that rasslin' might not be real, because if Ernest was full of shit, then maybe WWF wasn't too...

I'm hoping Trump gets it all. Not because I am a big supporter, but for the show value. We as a country are going down the drain. At least with Trump in there the fall will be entertaining to watch.

Duuuuddddddddeeeeeeee great call, great call.

Art Bell - Mega heel, ultimate boss heel. We're talking Hollywood Hogan at his NWO zenith levels of heat.

Heather - Number two heel in the company but too much of a jabroni buffoon to be taken seriously. Getting a mega push because of the boss despite the fans not buying it. Kind of like Mike Graham.

Falkie - Tweener, kind of like Raven at his peak. Fans hated him for his wishy washiness and whinyness yet still was arguably the most over person in the company.

MV - Reluctant disillusioned baby face like Cactus Jack in ECW.

bateman - Mega face as he has the best alternative show right now and is show an anti-authority turn like Stone Cold Steve Austin.

George Noory - Washed up mid-card heel who once had potential but now no one cares about. Like Jeff Jarrett.

I'm late posting this. Sorry life got in the way of Bellgabbing.

I see Art as evil Mr. McMahon. Total power trip. Everyone loved to hate him.

Heather would be Stephanie McMahon. Remember when she first came on she was pushed down our throats & people resisted. Parallels here.

Falkie: I don't get his appeal. He's the equivalent of Xpac heat to me.

Bateman is Sting (crow version; I know I'm mixing WWF & WCW metaphors): way over, courted by all sides but remaining above it all.

Praise MV!

I mean this as no disrespect to any current/former police officers but this phrase is why people want to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights:

There were multiple appearances by the likes of Dames, Kaku, Malachi etc. On the flip side who is everyone's favorite one off or infrequent guest?

Ed Pankau- Art did 2 interviews with him in 99, I think February and again in August. They were awesome. Art seemed fascinated by the ideas he talked about.

Dr. David Anderson- Time travel researcher. I don't know if he was legit but he sounded like he knew what he was talking about.

Kenny Young- Trumbull County UFO. One of my top 3 Art Bell shows of all time. He had the police scanner tapes of a police department chasing UFOs. I don't remember date off the top of my head. I want to say 99. Google is your friend; Art Bell Trumbull County should do the trick.

These are all in the megatorrent.

She's not a newsreader, where one's identity is irrelevant. Like it or not, that job requires you to be a radio 'personality', not simply a voice. Your experiences, attitudes, background enhance the listening experience, especially in that particular niche of broadcasting. Art made that work for him, as do most major radio figures that I can think of. If Heather plays the 'woman of mystery' card she won't be able to promote the show effectively: she can't do interviews, because she's unwilling to tell the interviewer anything interesting, and she loses out on new potential audiences who will not be given a chance to know anything about her. If she doesn't want to do it then that's fine, but she will always be small-time, even if it lasts very long, which is unlikely.

Art also has a voice that is perfect for the spooky genre. His laugh sometimes reminds me of the Vincent Price laugh in Thriller.

Art & Rush Limbaugh (love him or hate him, he's a great broadcaster) have one thing in common. They both talk about, from a very early age, having a love for radio/broadcasting. They took that and through trial & error found success by developing genres that were different but were of great interest to them, Rush with politics & Art with the woo-woo. They also talked about their "off air" lives as well, which developed a deeper bond with the audience as it let them see them as more than just voices, but as people.

I think Heather did a great job as producer. I've heard other shows where the producers or other behind the scenes folks tried being on air. It was almost invariably a trainwreck because it's not their strength. I'm not saying I'd do any better than she's doing. I have a face for radio & a voice that's best suited for being a mime. Hat's off to her for trying when asked.

I'll listen to 16 year old Art streams (& frequently do) over fresh Noory shows anytime.

Happy New Year to most of you vaguely loveable fuckers, except a few 4channers & bitter trolls with WAY too much time on their hands.

Praise MV!

Yes you imagine quite a lot. If you read what I typed as mean spirited, that says more about you than it does me. I was simply speaking from experience as a failed business owner. Shit like Art Bell, getting laid, sleeping never hit my radar while I was working for myself. I was simply 2 busy.

Reflecting on my previous experience, if I were ever so successful to have a company with 70 plus employees, Art Bell, or a thread about Art Bell wouldn't amount to a hill of beans in my life. Even less so if my company was having problems due to current international economic conditions. But thats just me, hence why I said "if I had a company". Chefist may feel differently and hes more than welcome to tell me so, or tell me to fuck off if he feels the need. No ill will was intended, I was trying to be succinct and honest. If that came off as brutal in text. I apologize for my lack of diplomacy.

I like chefist even though hes a "Noobie" that missed the Art Bell Quits Dark Matter days. This thread, website, went to "shit" back then also. Give it time, it gets better. A forum is only as good as what the community gives it's power to. Be it good or bad. It's not Daddy MV, or Art Bells job to make this forum good or bad. Only forum members have that power.

A dossier on everyone here? Yes, It's between my ears. Sorry if me retaining what I read in a medium thats open to the public disturbs others. Seems you are expanding your dossier beyond Falkie, and trying to slam new member of the forum nao. Pot calling the kettle black? It's always fun watching baby take it's first steps, and expanding their horizons.

3/4 of the time you post I go "WTF?" That is, by far, the most coherent thing I've ever seen you post. Good job

So much drama in the LBC. One of my favorite podcasts hosted by wrestling manager Jim Cornette is in some shit as the co-host just quit over Cornette's Islamic rant. I'm not big on this thought process but thought a lot of you would find it amusing.

I love Cornette. Definitely in top 5 managers of all time.

He does have a point on some things (shooting people over cartoons etc.)

This was posted in Leo's manifesto:

'One of the big issues right now is the music licensing.  That rates are set to go up astronomically in January.  We were already struggling with how we were going to handle the old rates.  The new rates simply make this impossible.  2016 will bring a mass exodus of internet streaming radio stations because its simply too expensive to play the music.  Something like 55% of the gross income would go to music licensing.  Even though the music is only a tiny portion of the overall content of the show'

If true (and I trust anything Leo says even less than I trust Dave) that really sucks. Any idea how that'll affect DMDN, assuming it's around in 2016?

Yeah.  :-[ So what is your bet? Is this character Obama going with the "workplace violence" or the gun-grab stuff, or a combination of both tonight? Reckon if Islam will be brought up by Barak or not? Or just going to go with the hand-wringing and pleas for tolerance and some milquetoast explanation of how peaceful it Islam is and why open-borders are a necessity?

I can't stand B.H.O. but he did say one thing that surprised me: calling Ft. Hood terrorism. That's the first time I recall him calling it that.

Otherwise was the same B.S.

Some interesting side details that I've heard:
- The victims weren't random; Farook knew most of them, some very closely.  This is highly unusual in terrorist attacks.
- A couple days before the massacre, Farook got into a heated argument with a co-worker, killed in the shooting, who was a messianic Jew who was apparently very vocal about Islam and terrorism.

He certainly proved the co-worker wrong didn't he?
