It's always the ultra-straight ones you gotta watch out for.  ;)

Lol, my fave Trek episode.  True story.

The hippies getting killed by eating bad acid at the end is even more ironic than the finale of Polynesiantown:D

"Forget it La Rue ... this is Polynesiantown."

Watched Logan tonight.  Not your typical super-hero fare.  Very bleak, loads of gore, and many f bombs.  It was quite adeptly directed and acted.  Just weird to see Patrick Stewart's Professor X hurling out f bombs.  Realistic though as his character is 90ish and experiencing the onset of dementia and brain deterioration.  As for Logan, his health is deteriorating as well due to adamantium poisoning occurring in his body.  Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart deliver excellent performances.  I don't want to give away the ending but this is Hugh Jackman's final performance as Wolverine and the ending is appropriate.  It was a good film in the fact that the plot was good but I left the film somewhat sad as did much of the audience.  I'm giving it 3.75 stars out of 5.  Probably the best X-men film and maybe the best superhero film of the 2000's though I like Raimi's Spiderman.

There was a nice nod to Shane, the classic Western, in this movie with several clips being played as Professor X and a mutant child watch the film on tv.

Dave Schrader mentioned he saw it, and gave a parental advisory warning for that reason.  He liked it ok, but he really liked the new King Kong movie alot.

No child under 10 should see it.  Certain images might cause nightmares.

Just saw Logan - overall good, but a bit drawn out and paced badly. I think that kind of violence level, coherent story, and direction is what all the other Xmen films lacked (and it is the best Xmen film).

Also nice to see a Marvel film without Stan Lee pretending he's Hitchcock or Tarantino with a cameo.

Last movie i watched was The Shonen Merikensack i love rock music comedies especially Japanese ones. Aoi Miyazaki is a talent scout working for a record company she finds a video of a punk band and tracks them down and finds out the video was 25 years old and they are old men now.

Terms of Endearment. I've never sent it before, and am really enjoying it. Jack Nicholson and Shirley Maclaine have great chemistry, and are a lot of fun to watch. I've loved Shirley Maclaine ever since I watched her in Two Mules For Sister Sara.

Well this movie went south quick. Still watching terms of endearment. The family moved to Nebraska, and then ended up in Lincoln. The lady got cancer and ended up in the actual hospital my mother passed in. And they showed the airport my dad managed for years. They filmed scenes that are just a few blocks from my house. Wow. Really took me back and kinda got me down.

Just a heads up that Bubba Ho-Tep is on in ten minutes of Comet TV. Bruce Campbell as Elvis and Ossie Davis as JFK do battle with an evil Eqyptian mummy that's draining the life forces of theother residents of a run down nursing home.

So that's what this weird movie is.  I just tuned in by chance.  Thanks, RGG!

Cheers! It's great fun. The DVD commentary by BC as Elvis is hilarious if you ever get a chance to see it. And the actor playing the Lone Ranger was Dash Riprock on The Beverly Hillbillies.

I'm digging it.  Elvis talking with Black JFK, eating a Baby Ruth. :)

I wasn't aware of her porn work.

I once made a friend watch this. (In addition to showing up drunk/tired and calling to ask if I could crash in his guest room during a lay-over, turned into long delay, then cancellation in London.) And we watched it, and I continued to drink, he replied, something to the effect, of "I'm not sure what I just saw, how this movie got made, and it explains some things about you. We are going to work in the morning, sleep in. There are eggs in the fridge. Set the alarm when you leave. (But no code to get back in, suspiciously.) haha"

"Bubba Ho-Tep" was pretty amusing last night.  Bruce Campbell was good, of course.  Comet's showing it again tonight at 8:00 EST.  The DVR is set and ready to go this time. :)

... and show you things you’ve never seen before and will never see again. Old Elvis and Even Older JFK eat candy bars and fight a mean-ass mummy! With fisticuffs and magic! What’s not to love, baby?

"Look, man, President Johnson's dead."

"Shit. That ain't gonna stop him."

Every so often I watch 'Buckaroo Banzai'. I always remember it as being more fun than it actually is: John Lithgow going so far over the top that he comes up the other side; Jeff Goldblum in woolly chaps; a bunch of aliens called John.

"Laugh-a while you can, monkey boy!"

Another good example is his giddily played arch-evil villain in "Cliffhanger".
