Looking at that Japanese cake I first thought it to be Flan.  It sure would be nice to try it if I ever come across a Japanese grocery store.
When it comes to Christmas sweets I generally have a soft spot for Germanic goods. However, that doesn't extend to Stollen, which I have never enjoyed.

Her health is obviously worse now than it was five months ago.
Do you recall earlier in the year when she was talking to some of her supporters and she started barking like a dog?  She exhibited much more energy and enthusiasm than we are seeing now.
Unfortunately for her campaign, this is now an issue that will have to be addressed, since it's not going away.

The area I live has seen an exponential increase in Refugees being resettled.  The vast majority of these are from the Middle East.
Last week I was in line checking out at Costco's, when a fully Burka clad woman informed the clerk that the government of the United States gives her $1700.00 a month for the family food budget.
I was unaware of the generosity of the U.S. government.

I'm sure many of you remember the time Ian had Steve Quayle on as a guest  and started challenging him in a manor that Steve was not accustomed to.
As a result, the next time George was on he kept apologizing for the unfair treatment Steve received.  He even had Ian apologize several times for the way he conducted the interview.
I believe it was at this time that Ian began to plan his exit strategy from Coast.
Ian has cited his tinnitus as a reason for leaving Coast.
I always enjoyed the evenings Ian was a host on Coast. He seemed to always be well familiar with the topic and the interview, going so far as to actually reading the books the guest wrote.
Could it be that one of the reasons Ian is going to be a guest on Coast is that he will become a host once again.
I don't know. It's just me thinking.

This guest has been nauseating.  (Or I shouldn't've eaten cheese-&-onion sandwiches.)  From the early bit not knowing what a machine gun is, and on & on.
Hear! Hear!
That first hour guest was a total disappointment. Saying the U.S. is equally to blame for the terrorists attack in Orlando FL is total bunk.
Lisa didn't have much to contribute to the discussion either.

That caller was the infamous "Will from Wisconsin" who always goes on rants about Finnish language words, no matter what the show topic is.
Will has been calling in reguarly to c2cam and other radio shows for 20 years now...  :o

Will from Wisconsin is certainly entertaining.

I remember once when Ian was hosting a weekend Coast show that Will called the show. However, he later called the show again and try to disguise himself by referring to himself as Bill from Wisconsin.  Ian even asked him if he had called earlier and Will/Bill told him No. He then proceeded to change his voice an octave lower in his pathetic attempt in violating the one call rule per show.  Ian being a tolerant man allowed him to continue.

He certainly has a unique accent.  I would have thought he was from Canada and not Wisconsin.

Did you see ELP with the full orchestra in Aug 77 in Montreal?
I was fortunate to see ELP with the full orchestra as well in 77.  Shortly afterwards, they had to cancel the tour because it was way too expensive to carry on.
Too bad for the loss of Keith Emerson.

Thats a wonderful treat from the past. Perfectly illustrating how both the minimoog and the mellotron can complement a symphony orchestra.

Here is an interesting BBC segment:

Interesting piece from Radio 4 indeed.

Being a Shortwave enthusiast while growing up, I would come upon these number stations.  Most would be spoken in Spanish.  However, one time I recorded what I thought was a Russian number station.  It turn out the language spoken was in Serbo/Croatian.

Definitely relics from the Cold War era.

All this spy nostalgia is making yearn to see "Bridge Of Spies".

Just finished listening to the latest Gabcast.

Quite lengthy, but also quite informative and enjoyable.

Thanks to Inglorious, Gravity and MV for your contributions.

Will tune in next time.

Art,

Thanks for coming back this year and giving us all a treat of hearing you do your magic on your broadcasts.  Will look forward to any time you'll come back to make an appearance.  Hope you and your family will have a Merry and safe Christmas.

And to all my Bellgabbers, a Merry Christmas indeed.

If he really wanted to do the show and not put his family in jeopardy, this is what might work.

Do the show off his property somewhere like the radio station in Pahrump he owns.  This way he separates his work from his family environment.

Either way I wish him the best of luck

I have to retract my original comment expressing some discontent with Church hosting a serious guest on US/Muslim history.  He did an OK job of letting the guest present his material without getting in the way.  Noory would have stepping all over SHeehan with tales of growing up with Arab Christian parents. Though I thought the show heading should have been "The Bush Family and Facism".  His discussion of modern Islamist movements came pretty late in the show. Most of what I heard has been covered by Russ baker in "Family of Secrets".  I was a little peeved by Sheahan's habit of repeating the same statements three different ways too.  Maybe he was stretching a usual 1-hr book tour radio bit into 2+.
Yes, Sheehan did repeat himself as well as being all over the map.

He made an assertion about the U.S. taking the Japanese Treasury which he claims was hidden in the Philippines. A claim I've never heard mention anywhere. It sort of reminds me of a similar story my Grandparents told me how the Soviets stoled the Spanish Treasury during the Spanish Civil War. Another claim that cannot be substantiated.

I did find Russ Baker's book "Family Of Secrets" to be a very well researched work.  Perhaps I should give Mr. Sheehan the benefit and read his material.

This is serious.

Perhaps the F.B.I. needs to step in, due to the fact that Art has a radio show that transmits via cable wire which obviously crosses state lines.

Art said that they have a few suspects in mind. Lets ask ourselves, who would benefit the most if Art abruptly quit his radio show due to perceive safety concerns for his family. Perhaps the focus of the investigation should be on that individual.

I haven't been to that fine city since the early 80's but I thought it was always thus. You mean, for a while, the subway system and city were nice places?
Its about the same time I last visited the Big Apple. Although, I did pass on riding the subways at the time.
I do remember at the hotel watching a cable access channel that had a program featuring Mayor Ed Koch. It was called the "John Report".
He would read a list of all the men who were arrested for soliciting prostitutes for the week. I guess it was his way of public shaming.

This page will give you the names of the Roman historrians at the time. You can use their names to find the original source material. It lists 3.
http://coldcasechristianity.com/2014/is-there-any-evidence-for-jesus-outside-the-bible/

There was a Jewish historian named Josephus. Sane with that you can goigle to find the original source material.
Thanks for posting the link with the secular confirmation of the historical support for Jesus.
Although, I was only aware of Josephus up until this point.

Longtime caller Bill the AAA called in just now to talk about JFK, a new topic for him?

Yes, that was his second call for the evening.
Earlier, he called the Bill Cunningham Show to express his fear over "The Donald". He fears the establishment of internment camps and was having a total melt-down like I never heard. It culminated with him calling Trump the Anti-Christ. Kinda weird for an Atheist.
Bill Cunningham at that point cut him off and banned him from the show for the rest of the year and possibly all of next year.
