Dr. Mac is getting pretty long in the tooth. I'm not sure , but I'm thinkin' he's got to be in his 80's.

I looked it up to see how old he is, because listening to him was torturous to me.  He's 72.  I think he must be in very bad health.  What a shame.  Should have been a great show, but I couldn't get past the guest's droning on.  :(

Oh man, are you in dreamland.

You probably also believe that the Newtown massacre is a hoax (I warn you, careful what you say, I knew some who died there).  Deception?  You are self decieved.  This is not a loonatic fringe thread, let's keep the extreme politics to a minimum, unless you want a fight with a liberal like me who might embarass you.  Alex Jones is a huxter, and if you take him seriously, you are a sucker.  Take the Alex Jones junk to a conspiracy forum where it belongs, spare us.

Best thing Art ever did was show he has a reasoning mind on politics.  I don't agree with much of his stands on things, but he's not histrionic and not an activist, he's not a loon.  I like Art because he's bright enough to realize that there's already way too much politics from the right on the radio as it is.  Centrism and moderacy is what the nation needs.

Laserjock, I've been meaning to tell you that I like you.  :)

I'm a Knapp fan for sure, but sometimes his topics are just too far from what I look forward to hearing about in the middle of the night.  This is one of those nights.

I'm listening to a rerun of Dreamland from 1995, re various forms of ET's.  Much more interesting than the Beatles.  :D

Me, too, 21, I've been looking forward to Jim Harold all week.  They waited til the very last minute to add the 1st half "whatever."  I haven't bothered to listen to it ... still waiting for mid-show, and something good from Harold.

How much suckier can this bunch of morons make Coast.  Talk about bait and switch.  >:(

I tuned it to the last part of the show to try to catch the new morning crew, and now not only does the local station cut off the last hour of the Friday show... but they have a disclaimer at various times during C2C saying the statements made on the show are not those of the station. They have been carrying the show since the 90's, and have never done either before. Yikes.

Verryy interesting ... Maybe someone has been listening to George's medical advice, and complained to the right person ...  8)

I wholly concur.  I cannot imagine why anyone would think she is entertaining, and, as you said, she throws the others off, too.  I never listen on Friday nights, which I believe is the only time she's on.

This is what I also "hear" happening.  Since his first  innocuous C2C show quite a while back, I've noticed Syrett progress to more of the Noory (wolf in sheep's clothing)/Wells (total maniac) types.

You can bet Noory is coaching him along.

I listened tonight just to see how Syrett did.  I fell asleep soon after the show started, but that may have been my fault.  Woke up at the halfway mark, though, and so got the full effect of the open lines segment.

Syrett is definitely a disciple of Jorch, and it showed tonight.  Not saying he's not bright, but he really likes to get into the conspiracy stuff.  My favorite part was when a caller said he heard Syrett on another show lately talking about the "birther" issues on Obama, and wanted to hear more.  Syrett (a Canadian) seemed quite invested in the need for an American President to be a "natural born citizen" of the U.S.  He's looking for followup information from Sheriff Joe Arapaio on whether Obama's birth certificate was forged and -- even better -- who may have forged it.

Syrett's suggested topic, and the prevailing theme, involved a waitress who served him and who wore a necklace made up of the numbers 666.  He and his wife were both very upset, and he ended up tipping the girl only 5% because of it.  Not surprisingly, this brought out a whole barrelfull of (ahem) interesting callers ... the usual Bible thumpers and others of fixed mindsets, and even one who is of the "Vampire religion."  Syrett's proclivity to Christian beliefs bothered me, even though I'm a Christian myself.  I like my hosts to be objective.  He reminded me of Noory.

Just my opinion, but I was not pleased.

The guest was talking about a case in which a man paid another man to kill him, and make it look like a murder for insurance purposes. She laid the whole case out, and good ol' Neorge followed it up by asking "Ok, here is the all important question... why did he do it?" The poor lady didn't skip a beat in saying once again for insurance. Neorge is a buffoon, and if they want to talk about murders then they need to interview him on his ability to kill a once great show with no ramifications.

I heard that, too, and once again wondered if, by some stretch of the imagination, Simple George is really NOT a total moron, then WHAT is it he's doing to make him miss the point of the story so often?

Could it possibly be terminal ADD???  >:(

Joorch completely flipped off by Zimmerman! He runs his Insulate The Grid campaign by the guest, and Zimmerman just completely thumbed his nose at it. Not at all worried about it, he says. In fact, he goes on, the main mystery with the sun 'today' is its complete lack of activity. The Idiot thought he meant today literally. Zimmerman slightly irritatedly says he means over the last decade. Just dismisses the idea there's likely to be a problem and anyway, he says, when a solar flare caused a power outage in Quebec, it seemed to him the grid coped with it. Joorch was saved by the bumper music, and made no comment on Zimmerman's dismissal of his new pet theory.

Hearing that would have almost made listening tonight worth the mental drain.  8)

Ebola is actually only somewhat more contagious than AIDS-at least for now.  It spreads through bodily fluids (not sneezing and coughing like the flu).  It is rampant in Africa mainly due to tribal customs surrounding the burial of the dead.  Many tribes ritually wash the dead and even kiss the person after death.  Unless you have date plans with either of the two infected people, I think you are safe.

Not crazy about bringing them here, but am glad to see we are helping Americans for a change.

Thanks for the info re why these things spread so quickly in other parts of the world, Mike. I have been concerned about the coughing and sneezing thing.

I'm also glad to see us helping Americans for a change, though not thrilled about bringing ebola to our own shores.

After seeing the repugnant nature of Mike Bara through his blogs and those of debunkers from Bell Gab, I thought I would listen to his interview again to see if I could link that, let's say new-agey, voice to the vile persona on the internet.  I didn't listen much the first time around having been put off by the abuse of the title 'engineer' in his introduction and the content of the first few minutes.

In the process I came across this little gem.  Sorry it's a little difficult to read.  I thought I would give everyone who no longer listens the full pleasure of the Noory experience.

[Bara talking about being interviewed]

George Noory:  You know what?  A good interview is when you listen.  Larry King told me that... a long time ago.

Bara:  [sounding incredulous] Eeoohhh

Noory:  He said, uh, you know, listen.  (You know) and I... and.. (you know) sometimes (you know) you stumble into someone or you jump on somebody's sentence.

So (you know) one of the most difficult things about a radio interview, Mike, is... just when you think they've stopped talking, and you don't want to have a lot of dead air on the air?  (You) so you're ready to... you jump in?  (That) They pick up again!  and that's... that's the frustrating part of an interview.  (Nd you know) and some people think 'oh you interrupted him.'  No I didn't interrupt him he stopped!  And then I started but he started again.  So, you know, it sounds that way.

Bara:  [jokingly] Well, see, the problem when you're doing a show with a guy like me is that (uh, you know) occasionally I do stop to breath... and... and that's always a problem.

Noory:  [jokingly] Not very often.  Not very often.  There have been times you've been on the air with me, I have left and gone to the restroom and came back twenty minutes later.  Nd you were still talking.

Bara:  [serious] You know...

Noory:  I'm kidding, I'm kidding

Bara:  [continuing thought] I know that you've done that.  I actually know that you have done that.  I've heard that you have done that and I know it's not with me.

Noory:  That's a joke...

Yes George, you do need to listen.  But you need to listen for content, not for cues.  I think that is the biggest bash against Noory here on the forums.  He doesn't seem to listen to content and doesn't seem able to anticipate or notice when a story has been building to a climax it has yet to reach.  If Noory could just help the interviewee build a narrative, rather than breaking it up with miscellaneous cue-card thoughts and questions, it would be much easier for him and us to follow along.  I hate to say it, but Bara makes a good point when he says sometimes the guest/caller is just pausing for breath.
>

Thank you for chronicling this exchange so well, GFP.  I was too lazy to post about it myself, but loved hearing Jorch explaining why he so inappropriately interrupts people so regularly. I've often wondered who brainwashed him against leaving one second of dead air. As you say, he's just listening for sound rather than meaning. GNS

I thought a lot of what I heard was wild and highly unlikely, but I found it entertaining for the most part, and I thought Schrader was masterful in dealing with all the bull he listened to for 4 solid hours.

I like Dave, but I do not like his bumper music.  That's always just going to be a matter of personal taste, though.

I'd be very happy to have Dave as a regular host.  He not only actually LIKES dealing with the paranormal, he's intelligent and well-spoken. For me, his show was an oasis in the desert of usual Coast cukoos, selling death, destruction, and turmeric.

Anthony Cumia was fired from Sirius and start his own show just 1 month later. August 4.
I still don't get how Art can be banned that long from working, I mean the whole idea of a non-compete is that he can't broadcast for another network WHILE working for Sirius. I mean now that he is gone he can hardly compete with his own no longer existing show, can he?

Is Art really so naive and bad in legal things? I bet a guy like Alex Jones would get a lawyer and destroy Sirius' case in a week and start broadcasting right away again, and probably get them fined for damages of lost income on top.

I personally believe that once the dust settled, Art considered his parting with Sirius a reprieve from what he had gotten himself into.

...ahem... cough cough... How are you?.. cough ahem.. How arrr yeewww?... okay her I go...

George:  I saw.. well let me tell you something.. I saw it was something.. and I'm going to bring this up if it's okay.  I need your permission.  Because it.   Has to do with a personal thing with, a family member.

Tommy:  I know what you're going to say.  You can.

George:  Uhm, years ago when you were in...  We... we've got a set up here in Los Angeles where Tom is in his own sound proof booth where he answers the calls, puts them on hold, he can send me messages.  Things like that.  And then I... I'm in the studio with our engineer and operations director Dan Gallante.  We're in there.  And we're going to be that way when the new one's finished too.  The new one is the old one being remodelled.  Haven't touched it in thirteen years so you know we're getting brand new state of the art equipment and everything else.  The stuff that Marconi gave me, we're not going to use anymore.

But Tom was in his little sound proof room, and this was several years ago, and I could swear behind him, and I described what the boy looked like, was Tom's brother who died of cancer...

[Tom's comments ommited]

...and I was pretty right in that description wasn't I?

Tommy:  [agrees]

George:  And I've never seen pictures or anything like that.  Uh, so that.. that was a weird one.  That's probably the closest I've come to something like that.

I didn't really omit much... no actual description but I still felt a little uneasy about posting Tommy's comments about his brother.  I figure George just saw a reflection of Tom in the glass.

Thanks for this recall, GFP.  I heard the incident, and pricked up my ears because I love a good ghost sighting.  Unfortunately when Jorch digressed into another of his "new studio" moments, my brain went into momentary sleep mode.

Rebounding quickly, though, I came to in time to hear what seemed to me Tommy's extreme reluctance to verify that George came close to identifying the "ghost."  I had the impression that all he was corroborating was that George saw "something."

Tag another one up for for Noory's stories that just don't quite cut the mustard.  ::)

I can see that my seldom listening to Simple George in recent times has put me at a disadvantage for keeping up with his grandiose dreams.

I just went to the Coast website to see if there would be any topic worth checking out tonight, and I nearly wet my pants when I saw the part about "... George Noory's campaign to protect the grid from an EMP attack..."

I came here to ask what that was all about.  Plenty of info here, as usual.  I think NoMoreNoory nailed it best when he said, "... it'll be fun for us all to watch this latest Walter Mitty fantasy unfold and unravel."  ;D

Another telling absence of information we get from Jorch is any evidence of world (or even U.S.) travel that he could well afford to do.

While he often brags about how he only takes one week of vacation a year as if it were some kind of virtue, I always think of how boring would any person be who does nothing but go through the same old "workday" he graces us with endlessly.  He talks about how much flying he does, but it's all between Los Angeles and St. Louis (for family reasons) and now to Colorado for his "Beyond Belief" joke t.v. show.  How broadening is any of that?

My take is that George has absolutely nothing to talk about that would interest the average chimpanzee.  :P

Sunday night our friend from Toronto, Richard Syrett, hosts.  As most of us know, he hosts his own radio show in Toronto, "The Conspiracy Show."

The topic of Syrett's local Toronto "The Conspiracy Show" Sunday is "THE SANDY HOOK SCHOOL SHOOTING: REALITY OR ILLUSION?" with Guest Jim Fetzer.

If you Google the name of Jim Fetzer you'll find Fetzer is a lunatic who believes Sandy Hook was faked.

The fact Syrett would give a platform to some like Jim Fetzer to spew his idiocy proves that Syrett is an A**HOLE.  And Premiere obviously run by A**HOLES for letting an A**HOLE like Syrett guest host.

Same thing I think about Jimmy Church on Fade to Black hosting John B. Wells last night.  I tuned in for just long enough to hear once again that Sandy Hook didn't really happen.

How are these maniacs proliferating like they are?  >:(

I've never even visited this thread before tonight, but I've found Jimmy Church an acceptable alternative at times.

Tonight I tuned in and heard the most outrageous hogwash I could ever imagine coming from the guest, with Church humming along.  Said guest sounded suspiciously like one John B. Wells, but not nearly as basso as he did on C2C.  Nevertheless, when he started on how the Sandy Hook shootings never occurred, I KNEW it was Wells.

I tried to listen just to see how crazy it could get, and how Church would handle it.  Ten minutes was my max.  Disgusted is too mild a word for what I now feel for Fade to Black. :P
