because art never instructed anyone to believe anything.  it was just presented as is, and the listener could figure things out for themselves if they chose.
That's what I'm saying though. "I heard Hancock was thoroughly debunked after Fingerprints of the Gods came out I never read his stuff or looked into it because I lost interest after hearing this." So if someone is so close-minded, why even bother?

I agree.  I don't like to be front-loaded with anything.  As soon as they say what they think it is you automatically listen and focus on that.  They should just play the clip then tell us what they think and then play it again.

The interesting thing for me with EVP is the mystery of what it really is.  I don't assume spirit activity because I don't really believe in that.  Some of them could be RF or other interference.  There was a cheap recorder that people were using years ago for EVP that was known to be problematic with electromagnetic interference.  A lot of people were running around using this particular recorder and claiming they got EVP, but it was really nothing.  The strangest ones are when the voices say something relevant or specific to the people doing the recording.  Perhaps our own minds are imprinting something onto the recordings.
I agree. EVP is much like the "back masking" and "reverse speech" you can hear it after you have been set-up to be listening for a certain phrase. Sure some "back masking" was legit and done by bands but I think some of the others are the set-up. With EVP and "reverse speech" I'm guessing that the pre-knowledge is the main cause. Still can be decent shows however with a good guest and host!

Yep, and the fun was all in the speculation of what might be.  Even if only a small percentage of topics were the real thing, that's still pretty fascinating stuff.

I like the way that ghosts carry around reverbs to make their recorded pronouncements (EVPs) sound more spooky.

"I'm Gabe"
"It's dark in here"
"It's cold here"
"Our DEATH Gate"
"YOU MURDERING TRAMPS"
Just to name a few.

Terrible first guest. Graham Hancock is a notorious brain dead pothead and pseudo-archaeologist. His bullshit makes Ed Dames' killshot bullshit look like historical fact.

Brain dead? More like intelligent, engaging and imaginative. You would never have been able to tell he smoked pot until he anounced that he'd been doing so for many years. His ideas are always great material for conversation whether he is right or wrong.
Scientific process irons it all out in the end, but we can have some fun with ideas on the way there.

Anyone who donated to the forum recently... I'm sorry if you didn't receive the usual "thank you" note with accompanying full frontal pics.  My mail server has been having problems related to the downtime we experienced over the weekend.

All I read saw was something about full frontal pics, and male mail server downtime which never happens if you constantly snort lines of turmeric... and pop mail order Viagra like candy the way Dave does.

I don't know, I heard Hancock was thoroughly debunked after Fingerprints of the Gods came out, not necessarily as an intentional fraud but as someone who cherry picked his facts and ignored contradictory evidence.  I never read his stuff or looked into it because I lost interest after hearing this.

He's even said he wasn't correct on a lot of stuff in Fingerprints. The updated version coming out this Fall should go over a lot of this.

I loved Fingerprints of the Gods and I like his War God series.
It's the perfect time for him to be on Art's show again. Dare I say now's a better time to be on the show than it would have been for the Sirius show since now he'll be promoting Magicians of the Gods instead of War God.

Hahaha.  Remember when Mr. Hanky's avatar was literally a picture of poop?  This was the last post Art made to him in 2013:

Mr. Poop is just trying to distract you, he might even be a reincarnation of DP.
My advice is carry on. Remember a Troll is born every second in America.

My latest beef with Saint Bell is his dealing with Jimmy Church going on C2C as a guest host. Bell acted like a petulant child and removed Church's Fade to Black channel from his Dark Matter network. A dick move to be sure.

As I said, I didn't look into it that much so I'm not putting a lot of weight on my statement that it was debunked and don't expect anyone else to either.  That is why I qualified my comment.  I don't remember the specifics of what I read about it; it was probably twenty years ago that I formed this opinion when the book first came out.  It was a new idea to me at the time; I hadn't heard of Art Bell.  My brother read the book and I was very intrigued, but after being exposed to a peculiar new idea and then, before reading the book, learning the author was a poor researcher who's conclusions were flawed and who's facts were contradicted by the hard-won data of a large scientific community, it soured me to his work.  There's a lot of information out there and you have to filter the good from the bad, or just waste your time spinning your wheels.  I reiterate that I don't remember specifically what the criticisms were and that I don't have a strong opinion or strong basis for my opinion.

We all rag on the guests Noory gets.  We all know many of them are frauds.  We all know this does not mean we are not interested in exposing ourselves to alternative ideas if they are well supported.  Why all the animosity for people who who question Hancock as not being a credible researcher?  That was the main reason for my post.  Why is the belief in Hancock so strong that questioning his work receives bitter feedback?

Reality suspension always made Art's shows more enjoyable!

I agree. Skeptics ruin paranormal radio for me. The last thing on my mind when I'm listening to some "expert" go on and on about shadow people, remote viewing or magic holes in the ground is whether or not there's any truth to what I'm hearing. I don't visit timecube.com because I think Gene Ray's onto something. Crackpot views and theories are like folk art to me. They're magical.

Zahi Hawass, the foremost expert on Egyptian archaeology and knows more than anyone on the face of the planet about Egyptian history, recently walked out on Nocock at a symposium because he wouldn't be associated with this fraud.

In other words, you don't have a clue. Not terribly shocked. I have read his books, and while I dont agree with everything he says, he makes a good case for many of his theories.
