Courtney Barnett - Porcelain

I "discovered" her last year, good to see others finding her also. Lots of talent and potential in her.

Here's a cover of Tenacious D's "Kyle Quit" from a punk band, that I downloaded 15 years ago from MP3.com.

An article about which songs radio stations play on classic rock stations. Originally published on July 7, 2014

Why Classic Rock Isn’t What It Used To Be (((link)))

Quote
I heard Green Day’s “American Idiot” on a classic rock station a few weeks ago, and I was shocked...
my colleagues related some of their own, like hearing R.E.M. or Guns N’ Roses on a classic rock station â€" but it made me wonder, what precisely is classic rock? As it turns out, a massive amount of data collection and analysis, and some algorithms, go into figuring out the answer to that very question.
No one starts a band with the intention of becoming classic rock. It’s just sort of something that happens.

Other data from the article:
Most played songs across 25 stations
1. Dream On (Aerosmith) 2. Sweet Emotion (Aerosmith) 3. All Along the Watchtower (Hendrix)

Percentage of All Plays
1. Led Zeppelin (4%)  2. Van Halen (3.3%) 3. Rolling Stones (3.0%)
Quote
This list looks at the 25 most-played artists in our set and then finds the city where they’re played most disproportionately. So if you can never get enough of Led Zeppelin, pack it up and move to New York, where 7 percent of all songs played on WAXQ are by Zep.

Looks like Taylor Swift has an article on music too. This one from the Wall Street Journal.
I haven't read it yet, but if you read it and find something interesting let me know.

In mentioning album sales, I'd like to point out that people are still buying albums, but now they're buying just a few of them. They are buying only the ones that hit them like an arrow through the heart or have made them feel strong or allowed them to feel like they really aren't alone in feeling so alone.

Kinda surprised that news of a new Pink Floyd album hasn't garnered much attention.  Especially given the new band members:

He covers 4 or 5.

Which tells us the ones he did not discuss in the song are actually REAL!1!

So which ones did he not cover?

Great music for your Western vacation.
