I totally agree. Tea Partiers tried their best to send fiscal conservatives to office in 2010, 2012, and 2014. They are still in the minority N that is why we need term limits. Too many bought-off politicians in both parties in office for too long.

Special interests - run the gamut. Some which would like to see us brought down a notch or be brought into socialism. The Soros name comes to mind. Large industries like the defense industry, big pharma, what's left of the automakers. Banking and Wall Street. Unions. AARP. Insurance companies. Even other countries such as Israel and Saudi Arabia. DC is a cesspool with revolving doors. You work as a staffer for congress, then go to work as a lobbyist.  You head up an agency like the FDA and either came from or go back to Big Pharma.

Because you have career politicians, they get too cozy with the lobbyists.

They made insider trading illegal for corporate executives, but exempt themselves from the same laws. If a congressman know he is going to vote to fund the next Northrop stealth bomber, there is nothing to stop him from going to buy a bunch of Northrop stock right before the vote.

If they know they are going to cut a program, like subsidies for a certain industry, nothing stops them from divesting their portfolio. It is criminal.

The growth of the federal government is ridiculous. When I started in the space program, most of the people working were contractors. Contractors could be let go when a contract ended or a program ended. Now, most of them are civil servants. Once a civil servant is hired, it is virtually impossible to get rid of one without some type of voluntary buyout. Multiply NASA's budget times 1000 and that is the problem with the DoD.

I don't believe there is some secret shadow government, but I do believe there are some very strong banking interests that grant de facto marching orders, at least as it applies to economics.

On the other hand I don't want a Racist. He knew exactly what he was doing just before Super Tuesday across the South. It's hard to believe a man raised in NYC would be Racist so it was opportunistic. I don't want Hillary and the rest of the field just does nothing for me. My head hurts.

On the personal side, the rich have used their tax savings to accumulate more wealth, which is then invested using the best tax shelters available. The richest rich tend to have more toys and hobbies than they know what to do with, and are not running around wastefully spending more money. They also generally don't consider it fun or satisfying to start businesses and employ people. They are into wealth preservation. That's the key phrase and btw, it's a very healthy part of the financial services industry.

On the business side, businesses have and will continue to have lots of priorities and uses for tax savings that come before hiring more people, opening more facilities and giving out raises. When they do use the money to grow the business, it's often spent outside the U.S. in countries that offer them sweetheart deals beyond the tax savings they already get. Small business may be the only place where tax savings go where they should go -- towards making a stronger U.S. economy.

What does this tell you? Trickle-down economics doesn't work in real life for the people it should work for. If it did, and globalization wasn't such a disaster in many ways, there would be very little talk about the wealth gap and wealth redistribution would be much less popular than it is in some circles.
