I know this is going to sound schizophrenic. I'm not schizophrenic. And neither am I.  I sometimes very faintly hear music coming from this cheap little $15 dollar heater with a fan in it. The music has been 80's hair band type music. I thought maybe this music is coming through the electrical wires that may be connected to my house from another house close by that is playing the music.

Lol. I have a large fan I run at night in hot weather that I can hear voices coming from. Definitely human voices, no doubt about it. Haven't figured out what they're saying yet but they're saying something. I don't think you're schizophrenic at all, and neither do I.

This is no mystery. Baby monitors pick up other baby monitors and radios and TVs all the time, especially if your homes are close together.

My sister once had to lie in bed and listen to her neighbors lying in bed, discussing what to do if her brain tumor surgery went bad.

Thanks for this link.  They're listed for sale on eBay too, but I agree it's fun to hear them live on SW.
Even scarier than these mysterious number stations are the apocalyptic preachers on SW, some of whom are really wack.  While listening to SW in Mexico many years ago, I heard one who was convinced Jesus was an alien.

Well it used to be. It seems like more and more going to the web. Voice of Russia (ex radio Moscow) did last year. I used to listen to AFRTS but they shut down now they are just on European decoders at the bases over seas. I do still do am dx but with all the noise pollution its a rare night where its just natural static instead of all the other interference. Radio is great but I'll listen any way that works. Remember 2 cans and string?

Good question. Will this work in the UK too. My gramps has a heap of old radio equipment. I'm positive he has a few shortwave radios amongst it. He be proud to know I was putting it to great use.
