This is awesome. I've only heard some of these songs in 48kbps shoutcast streams. They sound great here. Thanks for this.

i hate nice

I agree; nice people irritate me.
this reminds me... did you guys ever see the south park episode about mormons?

this is my second mention of mormons in as many days.

They weren't too kind there, but Mormonism lends itself to ridicule. If you believe your doctrine came from a magic hat then you'll pretty much believe anything.

Quotei think half of noory's audience is comprised of art bell fans who continue staying plugged in to the show and/or subscribed to streamlink just to catch art on the rare occasions he hosts.

My sister and brother-in-law are long-time listeners, and love Noory. They don't care for Knapp, loathe Punnett, and aren't amused when I mention that communities like this one exist. They're part of the other half, who think Noory is "nice," and the other guys are jerks.

Here's a few that are okay, though they're podcast shows.

Open Minds - UFOs only
Radio Disclosure - Not updated very often
PsiOp Radio
Mysterious Universe - The two Australian chaps ringthane alluded to
Earthfiles

Quote from: gerogeeatsit on August 05, 2010, 09:21:02 PMI was listening when a crazy sounding caller claimed he was on the run and he 'didn't have much time' and the line went dead.  Those were classic moments, IMO.

That whole show was just a little too perfect. Not saying the callers were scripted per se, but it makes me wonder when I listen to that one. Audio from that guy was used in this weird Tool song.
that guy called in a couple weeks later and admitted faking it.

He was definitely a fake, but the whole show felt like a production...

one more thing, anomalies... i know where you're coming from, and i'm not surprised by you or anyone else who feels the way you do about art.  he often comes across as an impatient, dismissive man who harbors some sort of deeply seeded resentment toward others.  i can't explain it, but i totally see it and understand it.  i have said before that if i were given the opportunity to meet art, i'd turn it down.  i think it would be such a disappointment.  i see it when someone compliments him and he responds with a palpable disinterest.  actually, it's almost a disgust he shows when someone compliments him.

I've been listening to classic coast for many years, and I have a completely different view of Art. I think he's had an incredible level of patience with callers that I'm not capable of. I would have been institutionalized after a few years of having to haggle with callers to get to their point, especially when most of them have to spend air time gushing about how they looooove the host before doing so. It's irritating to me and I'm just a listener.
point taken.

You threw me for a loop there, MV. I'm used to boards that are extremely hostile and confrontational. This is a special place.

unfortunately, smoking has been one of the greatest pleasures afforded me in the course of my existence in this realm.

have you tried masturbating?  you have opposable thumbs, right?
yes, and every time i'm done, i want to smoke.

I just found it hard to do both at the same time.  Had to quit one of them.

I found a site once where the kink was, women smoking while having sex. I thought it was pretty disturbing.

Radio and Podcasts / Re: I can't take it anymore

That was a great rant. I've stopped listening to Coast, unless it's a rare subject that I'm interested in, and if it's Noory hosting, I spend a lot of the show cringing at his inanity. I don't listen to the final hour of any show though, as the rambling callers are too much to bear. I just think that Art has a lot of character, that he's honed over a lifetime of broadcasting and ham radio, and that it's crucial to field the wide range of crazy. Noory is just on autopilot and possibly flat-out incurious.

I had ringing in my ears for a few years, from being in a band, and it was two tones that would oscillate horribly out of key. I got so tired of those tones, but it finally went away.

I listen to Open Minds every week. It's UFOs only, but the host is a nice guy and he doesn't make me roll my eyes like Noory and Rense.
