How do you make good acorn squash? I got a bunch of them on sale and they are just sitting on the counter. I was going to cut them into little pieces and boil them, but I know that will be gross and I will just throw them out. If you have the chance, PM me a good recipe or 2. I don't want to derail the thread.
Love acorn squash. A good pairing with Cornish game hens and Beaujolais.
Cut in half. Remove seeds. Bake cut side down at 350 for 40 minutes.
Turn cut side up. Pepper. Dollop of butter. Generously sprinkle with brown sugar and a little cinnamon
Bake another 20 minutes.  Enjoy

Basically my recipe...skip the light fandango on the savory side and mash them up with more butter, parmesan cheese and a little heavy cream! OMG! :o

Question for Art.

Art,

What is your favorite type of vegetable?

OK. Thread is back on track.

Just caught up on last night's shenanigans here. So glad when the sun came up and the trolls went back to their (Falkie) cave.  Bless you "normal" gabbers and gablings.
Bateman needs to do Saturday and Sunday night shows on DMDN to appease the angry hordes and keep us entertained.
Now I'm gonna watch football played in England (?)

no didn't do anything there.  i literally do bite off the white tips and throw the rest away.  i've never eaten an entire candy corn, or if i have, i don't recall it.

Oh I thought you were rolling with the "white" food bigotry thing...I just use them as pretend fangs then spit them out..

I don't remember Art ever talking about food.  He's probably like my dad, who, unless it's a chocolate-chip cookie, ranks it all about the same.  How such an effete sybarite as I could have sprung from those loins is a mystery.

So I bet it's potatoes.

Is tobacco technically a vegetable? Or coffee? Or the other one of course...

AppealPlay

Tobacco is an herb.

If you get them fried in peanut oil you might actually like them. Unless, of course, you are allergic to peanuts. Then, not so much.

What with all you Bella-Haven trolls, this morning, coming over to Art's thread and stinking up the place with your food pervsions?  Did brig take the last cup of coffee and forget to make another pot? AGAIN!

Take your niceness over to the Bella-Haven thread or STFU   :-*

You're right Art doesn't need the distraction. But the website is yawn inducing. I'm not a site designer, I only know what I like and don't like. I don't want to be a site designer, I only know that when I visit Art's site I am not interested enough to search his site.
would you prefer it looked like this?

I'm different. I eat the yellow part. My family disowned me for that in fact.

Just think we needed an extra dose of yin energy after last night's hostile vibes. Bring some balance back to the Universe and 're-align our chakras. Now where did I put my sage...
