I think you don't understand the point you made; reality is whatever we imagine we want it to become.  It's "vision", which is what drives progressives.  We envision a world that creates better opportunities, an end to a multitude of discrimination, of active participation in governance by the people.  We know as human beings we imagine can do better than the status quo, so yes, your attempt at derisive dismissal was actually a spot on key to our motivation.
It's a shame in your cynicism you cannot grasp that.
