I suspect a PremRat operative.  It's more their style to derail all-things-Art than to actually try to put out a quality product.  It wouldn't be the first time.  Bunch of jerks.

I wouldn't be surprised. Did you see how many people were falling all over themselves to prove how sensitive they were? In my experience in other forums, if you can't resolve a simple dispute with 3 back and forth direct questions and responses - then you can be pretty sure you're being trolled.

One forum was way rougher than this one- an atheist crowd, mostly progressives- they're every bit as intolerant as the religious fanatics they rail against. Some of the long time posters became trolls. One day, a young college girl (am I allowed to say "girl"?) joined and got into all sorts of odd topics. Really caused a stir. She got to like some of the people and so she fessed up that she was part of a group that would troll forums to see if they could change people's minds on some crazy idea. They would then laugh together about it and they had a point system to compete with one another. She's still a member there, I think. I rarely visit them. Lots of players on the web.

I have nothing against people for their lifestyles as long as it's between consenting adults and I have empathy for others. You would think that LJ would seek help for this trauma for himself and his son from an appropriate source- not from a bunch a strangers on a fan forum. I'm just not too keen about drama queens seekers on the boards.

Somewhere between lots and not at all. I have been driving, wanting a something to drink, a convenience store comes into view, and I decide not to stop due to the store being "not quite new". I suspect the same thing happens on a forum.

Great point, PB. I consider the Art Bell thread to be our flagship- maybe I'm wrong, but if I were new to Bellgab looking for information about Art and saw that hot mess- I might not stick around. People can get that kind of talk anywhere- maybe they come here for a break from it.

It's interesting the topic was political correctness censorship.  PremRat would love to censor, as in silence, Art, of course.

Given the effort and time for the trailers posted, those going out of their way to get Art on terrestrial stations, etc, this is an impenetrable wall of support.

If I were the rival I would be jealous of the world here.

You've got a point, zeebo. Unmoderated forums are more interesting and we all have the choice to participate or not. It also allows for a thread about a thread ... the possibilities are endless!

I suspected as much, but can say that with any certainty. It just seemed like an overreaction to an inside joke between 2 people that was not directed at anyone in a pejorative manner. It's possible that my comments here will be perceived as intolerant. I don't have the energy for that- I'm just a cranky person.

I don't think I inferred that LJ had no right to post whatever he wanted- that's not my call. All I did was question his motives and the way he went about it. I became sceptical and did make an observation of how this ongoing conversation effected other posters and how much it derailed the thread.

You can give your opinion if you like but I'm afraid this thread has upset a few people for some reason. You'll also have to search back many pages on the Art Bell thread to get to the origin of all this butthurt- although, I guess that term is offensive, too.

Or... you could start a new thread about political correctness and speech and forums...your call.

Oh yeah. This is the PC Butthurt Thread.  My post is just General Butthurt.  I'll leave it to the Top BRass to sort this out.  And thanks for the "howdy" pyewacket!
