The only way they make money and stay afloat is to increase the number of subscribers. I don’t see how this does that. Maybe if she gets arrested and there is national press coverage she will get a few new listeners. They should concentrate on making the show better. Shortening the show would help a great deal. Take it back to 3 hours. It is obvious that she has to stretch things to fill four hours. I seldom listen anymore.

Even the mention of a stunt like this creates word of mouth. I've had two friends who dropped off from MITD when Art left mention this stunt to me within the last week, so this is definitely creating visibility that the show hasn't had in a long time. I think going through with the event/appearing to go through with this event creates even more interest in the show, definitely.

Why do you think she's announcing this months away? To drive attention her way. It's a good marketing ploy. Look at how many new posts this thread's gotten since the announcement, if we're to use this place a microcosm to gauge interest.

Firstly, I do think that this is purely a stunt made to raise MITD's profile amongst those who aren't aware of it. With UFOlogy back in the news (thanks to Tom Delonge/To The Stars), it never hurts to try and enter the news cycle with a nice little stunt like this.

I see this going a few different ways:
1 - A few weeks beforehand she will call off the march on-air and mention the fact that "they" visited her and told her it was a "bad" idea. She will imply that "they" threatened her but will not talk about specifics. Callers will call in and rail against the government and those who were perhaps on the fence now fall into Heather's camp. Throughout this, however, we will not be presented with any sort of proof beyond her statement.
2 - She's going to postpone it due to "logistics and timing" a few times, perhaps mentioning that she has spoken to "legal counsel" and hope that people forget about  it after the third or fourth postponement, and during an open lines segment like a year from now someone will make mention of it and she will laugh and dump the caller
3 - This is going to be a staged event â€" she will end up uninviting others to join her, but she will end up doing this "remotely". This stunt is actually the spiritual successor to the 1997 Sept 11 Area 51 show, which can be considered the most talked-about segment on Art's show to ever happen. Connection during her remote broadcast will be lost and we will be left wondering, like any great radio drama, what has happened. Heather will re-appear on-air two or three nights later, giving off cryptic missives about what happened to her, feeding us chunks of her narrative throughout a regular interval of time to perhaps drive more people into tuning in post-event.
4 - This is gonna be a dud. She goes up to a gate, gets denied permission, puts up some sad little protests and leaves mumbling.

If she were smart she would have scheduled this for Sept 10/11 for the synchronicity factor â€" the angle of having an Area 51-related incident happen 21 years apart to the day is too tantalizing to pass up.

Art and Heather, in cahoots, plotting some great radio drama, just like Art has been doing for decades.

Saw somewhere on Twitter that Knapp's gonna have Luis Elizondo on next Sunday. Should be an interesting night.

Damn I fell asleep around the 2hr mark.

What a great episode that was up to that point, though.

Does anyone else hear someone else's voice when David talks?

Can the DEEP STATE be cutting in?
#7
We've entered the realm of the guest pregnant pause.

David Wilcock, holding on for dear sanity, lets Hoagie do his little thing before going into more info.

'an audience of TENS OF MILLIONS'

these people including Hoagie need involuntary 72 hour psychiatric hold assessments.

Well his Youtube videos get "a million hits" each and then the DEEP STATE copies his videos on YOUTUBE

It's PLAUSIBLE.

Much in the same way that Hoagie's hair is controlling the rest of him. It's plausible.
#9
Breaks cut out of a car, eh.

Shades of Steven Greer's infamous phone call threats.

And Hoagie's heart attack was due to the MEN IN CHARGE.
#10
THE DEEP STATE IS STEALING DAVID WILCOCK'S YOUTUBE CONTENT
WHY?

WHO KNOWS
#11
This shit is delightfully unchained. Classic Hoagie, off of his leash, pissing off the very person he invited onto his show with his scatterbrained ranting.

"The alpha male of NBC, Matt Lauer"

David: "You're locking horns with me on this one."

Okay good the Navy are the ones with the secret space program and not the Air Force

BUT WAIT

DEPENDS ON WHICH SECRET SPACE PROGRAM

*record scratch SFX*

Will Hoagie's guest hang up before the end of the allotted time?

I feel like he's exasperating the dude with his ornery attitude.
#15
4D CHESS GAME

For a dude who dislikes Trump, he's sure borrowing a lot of his terms.
#16
God bless Hoagie for getting angry about specific link protocol with his guests.

Didn't he already do that for the em drive project?

Ohhh right he was pushing Dave Distler. I totally forgot about that.

Holy shit was that a legit braaps?
#19
"what is advanced chronom...chrono....chrononometry?"
#20
Oh solid. Still perpetuating the idea of glass structures on the moon.

Yep. That's totally a valid thing that exists.
#21
Lord save us if Hoagie ever finds out Kickstarter or IndieGoGo exist. He'll be demanding $19.50 from every person ever in order to get one of his projects off of the ground.
#22
IS ART BETTER THAN FICTION?

Also Hoagie doesn't realize his own website doesn't work and keeps telling people to go to it.

Welp.
#23
So.... Hoagie is saying that Brian Williams got mad about running stories about disclosure recently and made it sound like it's Williams' idea to run other stuff instead.

I don't think he understands how the news works. Reporters don't pick topics, producers do.

An observation, not an accusation:
Since last listening to him, Richard seems to be searching for his words a lot more often. That's a bit unfortunate.

EDIT:
Also I just learned from Hoagie that Kim Kardashian is getting a divorce â€" guess I'm gonna start getting my pop culture news from that dude.

THE SECRET SPACE WAR?

ALL OF MY DREAMS HAVE COME TRUE
#26
For the first time in almost two years, I'll tune into Hoagland and his classy hair.

Don't let me down, braaaaaaps

EDIT: Hoagie couldn't remember Steven Greer's name. Oh my lawd this is gonna be gold.

Let's get back on track with the subject at hand:
In what configurations will we be forming roaming groups of lookouts in order to catch SDM, preferably in a large burlap sack? Who wants what states?

So former Midnight In The Desert guest/caller punching bag Peter Robbins is now flipping on Larry Warren and... Nick Pope is in Robbins' corner?

What a strange world we live in.

Haha I forgot about that.  Oh I wish Uncle Hoagie was back so he could tell us what it means!

Once the Accutron is fixed and up and running he will strike fear into all of us with his searingly-hot insight.
