It's like that old pilot's adage:  There are two types of people.  Those who went over the top and those who never made it.  Actually, there's only one type of person.

There's a great line in a late 80s British mini-series ("A Piece of Cake") about the RAF early in WWII.  A senior officer is briefing a group of fighter pilots during the Battle of France and he warns them, "..and the French have some very ugly aircraft, for God's sake don't shoot them down".
