Morgus

Hoagie is reminiscing about his time as Walter Conkrite's CBS science advisor starting with the Apollo 8 mission.

OK that's it. This btr site is consuming 60% of my processor capacity. I'm outta here.

Who is this person?

If the info on the OSOM site is accurate, this guy might be legit in spite of the way he started.

OK. I re-set the network and reduced the permissions for BTR and tried again. Now it looks more normal, so I'm back.

This dude does not sound legit to me.

He is describing the same basic system that is deployed on ISS Boeing didn’t develop it. Not 100% sure if it was Rockwell, MACDAC, or Martin but Boeing ended up with it based on acquisitions and NASA combining all of the ISS contracts and giving them to Boeing. I know Draper was involved.

He's starting to sound better.

But now... RCH is planning on holding listeners hostage to his technical inability so that when he screws up, listeners have to be 19.5 members to hear the show? What could possibly go wrong?

=Schlyder=

Holy fuck... get the fucking audio levels sorted. Just overloading his gain signal like crazy.

GravitySucks

I headed over to C2C to listen to Knapp. If anyone comes across a copy of today’s Boeing show and can pm me a link, it will be appreciated.

Yep. I'm afraid to walk too far away from the computer if I have the audio up far enough to hear RCH. He can't keep from twiddling knobs. I bet that's a good part of how he manages to kick himself off the air so often.

Compressors, people! Hoagie will never get it. ;D

Yep. I sometimes set one up for listening to other stuff that fluctuates in volume wildly. I'm too lazy to do it for RCH show right now. And yeah, it should be on RCH's side anyway.

I'm saying that he or his people (if he has any) should be doing that. If you're streaming over the net there are usually plug-ins and such for that.

I guess RCH figured out BTR? No ability to d/l the recent shows now and he is not popular enough for anybody to post on torrents, interwebs, or youtubes.  :(

There is someone who has been posting monthly torrents on TPB.  Also, if you happen to get the show within a few minutes of its end, you can download the full 3 hours.  I have this weekend's.

It appears to me that RCH is planning to ride off into the sunset behind a paywall. He's already managed to alienate himself behind a "NO comments allowed website" wall. And of course there is the suspicious lack of any real live callers when he actually manages to pull off the occasional show.

With the introduction of his new server feed that will be only available to paying members of 19.5 club, it seems to me that RCH is planning to hold all potential listeners hostage. Hostage to his lack of technical ability so that when he screws his show up, the new listeners will have no choice but to be 19.5 club members in order to hear the show. What could possibly go wrong with such a strategy? And when the shows do go pear-shaped, I suspect the neat 'solution' will be to raise the price of 19.5 club membership fees again.

Morningstar again?  He must have pictures of Hoagie with farm animals.

Have you ever gone to the Klondike casino?  It is by far the worst casino in Vegas.  I think it was used as the crappy casino in Vegas Vacation.

If anyone here has no cloo who Ken Johnston is, here's a bio including his relationship to RCH. Cheers.

What do you get when you couple a low-level file clerk and failure at life with RCH?
