I've fallen behind, so let me catch up:

1) In 2007, Oklahoma made the watermelon its official state vegetable, even though it's usually considered a fruit.

2) The FBI listed Groucho Marx as "a potential threat to the life of Richard Nixon."

Jokes about Art Linkletter's daughter go over the head of most young people.

Well, she went over a few heads in her final moments....

Seriously, though, after she died, that sanctimonious old fart placed all the blame on LSD, conveniently glossing over her history of emotional and/or psychological problems.  Thanks to his considerable popularity and media influence at the time, he deserves a lot of blame for contributing to the anti-drug hysteria for which a lot of non-violent offenders paid a big price.  Ironically, his afternoon weekday show was called, "Art Linkletter's House Party."  Schmuck.

Are you planning a trip to the states? ;)

Related fact:
Oral sex was agaist the law in as many as 14 states until 2003 when the Supreme Court ruled on Lawerence vs Texas.

I have been to the States; and maybe in the future I would come over again. A few on here I want to share a beer with, but I'll avoid those states where doggy style sex is illegal. I don't want to be sent to jail for 500 years if simply doing it missionary position would have been a plea bargain reducing it to 30 years, something I could have managed easily.

Over 90% of Australia is dry, flat and arid. Almost three-quarters of the land cannot support agriculture in any form.

Could be worse, you could be describing the women... although the agriculture point may be a good thing in that case.

What happens on a bachelor party stays on a bachelor party unless you contract a venereal disease.

Now if we allowed those homeless people to clean those houses they could afford some decent accommodation.

In 1977, Australian Alan Jones scored a surprise victory in the Austrian Grand Prix. Initially officials were going to play the Austrian anthem but then realised that Australia and Austria were not the same country. Unfortunately, they didn't have the Australian anthem so instead a local drunk played "Happy Birthday to You" on a trumpet.

I know right. Surely the drunk Austrian local should have known that considering this next strange Aussie fact.

'Waltzing Matilda' the title of Australia's most famous song, is German for 'carrying a backpack'.

The first person to descend Niagara Falls in a barrel and survive was a woman named Annie Edson Taylor.  She did so on her 63rd birthday in 1901.

Anything that contains “natural and artificial strawberry flavors” also contains castoreum, a liquid extracted from beaver anal glands. That’s what gives strawberry-flavored foods their punch.
