Fukushima meltdown?
« on: January 04, 2014, 10:37:57 PM »
I'm seeing quite a few alternative news sources state there have been underground explosions that occurred on December 31, and a possible radiation cloud will descend upon the west coast of the US any day now. If true, it makes sense that the mainstream media isn't reporting it. Good luck to all those on the west coast, myself included.

Sheezus.

I wish John B. Wells was here.  :-\

John?

JOHN??

But seriously, that's disturbing. I will say that if Memphis got drenched in radiation, it'd be no great loss, though. City of filth, crime and despair. But great BBQ!

Yes, but I believe it's easier to accept if you know it may be a possibility. That's why I posted it.

This is actually pretty alarming.

Quote
And while the paper has reported that testing conducted by Peterson’s department on their own Geiger counters has since revealedradiation level of about 100 micro-REM per hour, or about five times the normal amount, officials are confident that there is nothing to be concerned about.

... officials are still uncertain as to why those levels — even if they are relatively safe — seem to be five-times higher than what is expected. Peterson told the Review he was “befuddled” over the ordeal, but suggested the culprit could be something not too sinister — such as red-painted eating utensils buried on the beach.
... what?

I'm in Seattle, and I am still eating the sushi.

When my limbs dissolve and fall away and/or I develop super-radioactive super-powers, you will read about it here first!

I live in Bellingham. It'd be cool to have super powers for a few days before dropping dead. Almost worth it.

I'm between Tacoma and Olympia.  It's worrisome.  I've been concerned since it happened.  I grow a lot of our yearly produce in my gardens and worry about the rain. I do think something big happened a few days ago, according to the reports I read.

Make sure to take iodine just to be safe. I know I am.

I did back when all this started, but then I quit.  I think I'll start back up again, because this isn't looking very good.

Don't bury the red-painted eating utensils in your backyard... put them in your attic -- it will keep the spy drones from scanning into your home !! Really

Prayers for Nippon  :(

Great link, M.  Did you hear the lady say that the power plant's cooling system had reportedly stopped working?  Hopefully just a rumor.

Update.  The cooling system has stopped but authorities are saying that water in the containment pool will keep the rods cool for 'awhile.'
