I think Bateman interviewed this guy when he was still doing a podcast.

As I recall it was a contentious interview. Guy seemed to be in a bad mood or had a chip on his shoulder.

Jeff Mudgett interview, 9/18/15.  The guy wouldn't say squat about his supposed evidence connecting H.H. Holmes to Jack the Ripper, except to say over and over: "It's in my book! Get my book".

After the interview, I posted: "I don't remember an interviewer ever confronting a prevaricating guest with such abrupt panache as you did with Mr. Mudgett.  'You could be bluffing'. Ha! Bonus points for point-blank telling him he couldn't shut the show down."

So Steve shut the interview down.  It was great.

We need your show back, Bateman!

Heh, I didn't even know this "History" Channel show was happening, somebody pointed it out to me on Twitter.

The premiere has credibility issues that don’t bode well for the remaining installments.

Shocking!

This was a pretty funny synopsis from Reddit:

Was Erik Larson the guest or was it someone else?  Missed that show!

What happened to Dark City?  Is it done?  Sad.  Was one of the best podcasts out there.

Open-ended. I'll be back, it's just not something I feel compelled to do right now. But thank you.

DNA test proves H.H. Holmes did not escape execution.

In the conclusion of American Ripper, it was revealed that DNA analysis of the remains showed a “conclusive link” to Jeff Mudgett. This discovery ends over one hundred years of speculation, proving even Holmes couldn’t cheat death.
