We had a dude here in NC that got not one but two DUI's between the time early voting started and election day.

Just an example as to why early voting might not be such a great idea.

Assuming he is elected these might serve him well. There is, in many States and for the Feds (Article I, Section 6, Clause 1), a rule about it being illegal to detain, arrest, or delay a legislator going to Session. There have been stories in DC, and elsewhere, about cops arranging transport etc for drunken Congressmen (not sure if true or not.)
