Like Noter Dayme? Or Seltics? And not to state the obvious. At least it should be. Anarchists are not liberals
I recall a funny Phil Hendrie decade or more ago about wanting to get rid of the "Fighting Irish" name, due to the racist stereotype that Irish are violent. Then the "guest," a person of Irish descent goes on to mention all the violent situations he has been in, child abuse, IRA, etc but at the same time saysing "Irish aren't violent." Frustrated callers, also claiming Irish descent, calling in "you aren't making your case any better by mentioning..." "why do you keep mentioning incidents if you don't want the stereotype to exist, etc."
Little did we know that political correctness, at some point, might go that far. Maybe not for "white" stereotypes but why not, when we see the push for "the other" stereotypes to be changed (or try to be changed?,) speech curbed, humor muted, etc? I know, I know the patriarchy, the historical racism, colonialism, blah blah blah why isn't what is good for the goose good for the gander? I demand the Minnesota Vikings, and all the colleges and highschools who use similar racist mascots/names, change them because it is offensive, demeaning, and "triggers" me.
Yeah, most of the protestors these days don't seem to be kumbala and about peace but about violence.
ps: I've always assumed the Seltick vs KELL-tick was so in conversation one would instantly know if you were discussing a basketball or football(soccer) team or an ancient people.
