RELIGION Thread
« on: October 25, 2016, 04:51:49 AM »
Hi friends,
Let's share in this thread our thoughts on religion.
I will be posting here about Christian religion {not particular church associated}, but you are welcome to post on other religions.
I ask that we act civil {let's have strong arguments but no personal vulgar insults would be preferable ;)}

I like to start with Book of REVELATION in The Bible.

As first here is a documentary about The Book of Revelation by History Channel BBC
"Secrets of The Book Of Revelation" Documentary History Channel

There is 13 days left to the Presidential elections in the USA (today is 25.October.2016)
*2016 Election Countdown Clock* http://www.270towin.com/2016-countdown-clock/

Who knows, perhaps next President of THE USA will be the President who will take not only America but the whole World
into the events described in The Bible in The Book of REVELATION
Even if you are not believer in the teachings of The Bible why not to get familiar what it says about forthcoming events.
What if Bible is correct foretelling coming Apocalypse and changes to the social, religious, political, geographical structures on this Earth

You can always reject this knowledge later, but for now why not to get familiar with it :)
With Love - theONE

Here is a very interesting interview with some guy named Art Bell..(from 1997)
At the beginning of the interview Art admits that he doesn't believe in God-in Jesus Christ, [Art said that he only believes in the UFO :)]

I wonder now after so many years and his current wife being Catholic (from Philippines) did he changed his view, did his new wife
had any influence on his luck of belief in God ??

"Art Bell Radio - Lost History of Jesus"
Art interviews Dr. Glenn Kimball about his new findings on the lost history of Jesus.

True and quite a few now legal and popular things promoted by the government and media were listed in the DSM or considered mental defects or problems not even just a few decades ago. In the Soviet Union if you disagreed with 'dear leaders' or communist reapportionment/confiscation of formerly private property you might have 'sluggish schizophrenia' and sent to an institution. Obviously don't need to go into what we in the USA, Germany, etc have done over the years to "crazy" people.

Thanks so much 21.
I'm at 3/4 of listening right now to this gem of Art Bell
"Art Bell, G.Kimball - Hidden Politics of the Crucifixion"

..but tomorrow I will listen to your suggestion, especially that I had twice out of body experience, not dead related
but they were very-very real

I loved Glenn Kimball's appearances on the show. He was one of my favorite guests. He is very deeply missed.  I remember him coming on the show while he was dying and talking about seeing demons and all sorts of weird things.  RIP, Glenn.

RIP Glenn indeed

?? he was seeing demons ??, wow that must be very telling for a guy who was so deeply into God topics, do you know what show it was?
I would love to listen to that.

I'm having very interesting reflexions listening to Art now, /and everyone knows my beef with him/ -but oh boy Art is so good as a host guiding
interviews and guests to paint pictures with words...
(I mean I started listening to Art like 25 years or so ago,.. so I'm very well familiar with his charm and skills as a host)

There is an argument by some, that "attacks," or whatever, would be more hard on enemies. It makes sense even in a non-religious aspect- but Malachi Martin etc mentioned this stuff also. Regardless of beliefs I think most can agree that he, Glenn, and some others were great guests- even if one would just say 'for entertainment value.' I would include Kathleen Keating WAY up there also.

I'm glad you couldn't resist and visited this thread -even tho you posted something very evil
/be assured I'm not going to watch that filth/ judging by the title,..but maybe this first visit here by you will lead to few more
and maybe Spirit of God will have influence on your disturbed mind and your soul to guide you out of your confusion and your
unhappy life and you can change your ways...and find peace and happiness ;)

Nothing is lost till the last Trumpet sounds !!

"The final trumpet blown on that day, soon after the opening of the Sixth Seal,
will indicate the last chance—thus, the term Last Trumpet—for people to be removed from the earth,
prior to God's vengeance and wrath (Revelation 6:16,17) being dispensed upon the earth.
His wrath will commence with the First Trumpet Judgment, which will follow the opening of the Seventh Seal."

The Visual Bible Series is a very professional production with a unique perspective. The script is entirely the Book of Matthew (New International Version). No other words are added and none are omitted. Of course it is impossible to know what how the events were manifested over 2000 years ago, but I found this version to be very believable and well worth the time watching it. When the actors are not speaking, Christoper Plummer is providing the narration.

Some of the words are used as the script for scenes where the scene is acted out. In others, it is an elderly Matthew dictating his memory of the events to a scribe. Very smooth transition between the two techniques. I recommend this film, and Acts as well. I have the DVDs of John and Mark, but I have not watched them yet. I would expect them to be of similar high-quality.

They changed the actor portraying Simon Peter between the two. James Brolin plays Simon Peter in Acts and I wish he would have done the same in Matthew. Dean Jones plays Luke in Acts.

Bruce Marchiano plays Jesus. I believe this (and the follow on Acts) was filmed in Morroco.

The Sermon on the Mount really came to life for me as I watched this movie.

Matthew (4 hours)

Acts (3 hours)

John (3 hours)

Mark (4 hours)

Finally a decent post DN! Louvin Brothers were great. And interesting history of that type of music. Lots of old stuff across the seas came into that genre. And, oddly, to some the banjo was, African origin. But also interesting was how songs changed or adopted from others. Some good box sets outthere by PBS and European labels. Thanks for posting!

I'm def going to watch the other 3 you posted.

I have a 20 CD set of "The Word of Promise-New Testament" presented in a dramatic radio theater audio Bible recorded by over 500 actors.
Very nice production.

"The Word of Promise Full Bible"

For those who would like to listen to this audio theater on a long drive trip or during walk here is the download link:

I'm having now in the background your suggestion "The Visual Bible-The Gospel Of Matthew" playing, but need to watch that
in the next couple of days. Watched few minutes of it, indeed nice production

In the beginning...

Max McLean was a broadway actor. I have seen him do a one-man play on the book of Genesis and a live production of The Screwtape Letters (C.S. Lewis)

This is his rendition of the Book of Genesis

Quite well done (4 Hours if I remember correctly). His stage performance did not cover the entire book. I think it stopped either right before or right after the story of Abraham.

1. there are many religions as you well know that, so depends which religion you are talking about ,but I assume about ALL religions.
You are partially correct ,excluding that there is a mathematical possibility that there is one real GOD amongst all the various gods
that are claimed to be real.
What if there indeed is one real GOD who created all of this?
We are too busy to think about it in our free time, therefore many times some not so pleasant things happen to us to slow us down
so we can take our attention from every day life from spending our time on not so useful activities but to have chance to contemplate life,
it's origin, it's final destination.

If person believes that there is no Creator-God and that we come from some organism in the ocean then that person has lot's of questions that
have no logical answers,.. and still at the end even if they somehow explain how all that life chain evolved from other organism
from some other matter, final question still will NOT be answered,..where/how the first element started from which ALL the next elements become.

This question also would be present in their evolution theory,.. was there at the beginning only one element or few or many elements from which evolution chain reaction started.
And regardless of answer how many elements there was at the beginning of the evolutionary cycle - big question is where did they come from,
were they created /if so by whom/ or were they just there all the time,... nothing/nobody created them they just were there waiting for
special moment in time to start the evolution process to eventually become humans but before that they were just some micro organisms
that combined with other micro organisms etc-etc-etc and eventually become life forms in the ocean /o...how did water in oceans become to be,
just on it's own ,just by desiring to do so some elements desired to combine in order to become water/...and later from some plankton in that water
humans decided to evolve themselves

...you see how absurd the evolution theory is

It's fine to have unanswered questions, it doesn't invalidate a theory. The idea of a God doesn't explain anything; evolution gets much closer and has evidence to back it up, rather than the word of  a bunch of illiterate peasants 2000 years ago. 'God' is just another word for ignorance. In the ancient world people used to claim that everything in nature came about through the actions of a god or gods, simply because they didn't know any better. These days, we have better explanations.

God doesn't believe in aetheists. Proof they do not exist.

p.s.  The idea of a god can explain everything. It might not prove anything, but it can explain everything. Just give man enough time and a typewriter. Sooner or later he will create a God that explains wverything.

Very - very interesting statement made by you Sir.
So let's get straight to the chase and focus on the nano element of this confusion.
Let's skip all the complex explanations by evolution theorists how the trillions - quadrillions - googillions /? did I just made up this word?/ of combinations
of chemical elements, of gazillions of animal life forms body tissues, of plants and minerals, of gasses, etc-etc-etc  come to be,..
and lets focus on this one question.

How the chemical elements that are part of all what you see around you, including your own body, -how those elements come into existence?
Because evolutionists are claiming that all life forms evolved over long period of time,...fine so far so good with that concept.
But can evolutionists explain where those elements that evolution used to evolve into more complex forms of life, where did they come from?

There is only ONLY two options, two answers to this very basic question.

1. They were always there, nothing nobody made-create them, they just always existed, always I mean that there was never time that they were not existing.
2. They were created by an intelligent force /some of us call it GOD/ they were created using very intricate mathematical principles.

If you subscribe to the option 1. -just take your time and contemplate on that possibility, that something that was used to create all the life forms
and as we know all life forms are composed of various chemicals -where those various basic chemicals come from?
I'm talking about the first few chemical elements that according to evolution decided on their own to start to combine with each other
to form more complex combinations and more complex after that, and so on and so on.

Sir, I suggest you start at that nano /or even below nano/ chemical structure question, where it got it's start, because as we know
everything has it's start.
Take car for example, it's made from thousands of pieces of various parts, each part is made from various elements, and we know that
various manufactures make those parts, and we know that those parts were made by using not "empty air" but by using
chemical elements that were extracted from the Earth.

But how those extracted by us chemicals got there, how they become part of this Planet, ooo-OK this Planet was somehow just formed,
fine let's say it formed it's self, it formed it's self based on the evolution desiring to form a Planet Earth, /no GOD/ but where did the evolution
took the elements necessary to form such a complex Planet from ??

You see Sir,...how empty the evolution concept is.
Evolution theory doesn't look empty when you take a slice from the middle of the "action" ,..but if you go for the beginning
of the action, evolution has no answer ... and it never will, Sir

GOD the Intelligent Creator is the answer, Sir

It's your answer,  not mine. Your solution is the same superstion that believed the world was supported by the back strength of a turtle. It may give comfort to apply god's will to deal with the fear, dread, sadness, and confusion of a chaotic universe. I guess if one wants to remain child...

Believing in a final reward as the motive for doing good deeds is a fundamentally flawed premise.

Serious question - Are you referring to Christianity?  If so, I would be interested in knowing which denomination(s) you are familiar with. As a Christian, that is certainly not a belief or tenet of my faith.

religion is a fraud..what people need a bit more of is spirituality..not what some book tells you what you can and can't do or who you can and can not like

I wish I had a dollar for every "spiritual" stripper I hired (wait..I think I do, actually). typically, they had Chinese symbols tattooed somewhere on their body, and an elaborate tramp stamp. Oh, and they had to be reminded to bathe. At the time, I liked them. They were dirty and made me a ton of cash.
