The second-highest-ranking official at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has written a proposal to reduce gun regulations, including examining a possible end to the ban on importing assault weapons into the United States.

The 11-page “white paper” by Ronald B. Turk, associate deputy director and chief operating officer of the ATF, calls for removing restrictions on the sale of gun silencers; allowing gun dealers to have more guns used in crimes traced to their stores before the federal government requires additional information from the dealer; and initiating a study on lifting the ban on imported assault weapons.

I am tired of winning Mr. President i cant afford to buy all these imported guns it's just to much please slow down it hasn't even been a month And America is so great i cant take it anymore!!!!!

There was an ad in the local free paper for Valentine's Day gift from some local shop. A "home defense" short-barrelled (legal)  pump shotgun on sale. Just the thing to win her continued love and a perfect gift to give after a nice dinner out.
God Bless Texas!

There are uses, breaching doors, combat in close quarters, etc. Plus just the fun cool factor.
ps: I love this guy's site. He tries out various myths and legends. Here is the old Western "dimes in the scatter gun" and "rock salt in the shotgun to run those kids off"

I have breached doors with my 590A1 using bird shot in a house a friend owned he was tearing down, its fun i highly recommend it! A shorter shotgun would have been more maneuverable but the 20" did it's job.

I thought this sort of stuff only happened in America.  That is what the left would have us believe.

Evil guns.  They go everywhere and fire-off, all by themselves.  Every time.

Damn Yankee-style videos.  I blame the hand grenades but thanks, AP and Froggies, for clearing things up for the deplorables.

"...officials believe he had watched American-style mass shooting videos prior to the attack.

The AP news agency..."

The odd thing, sort of, is that it was an actual French kid doing the shooting- not some immigrant or "refugee." But a few comments from what I've seen on this incident that have things in common with ours, often: the fascination with the "Joker" and evil clown characters, rumors (now dismissed) of a second shooter, the interwebs/fascination of other shooters, and recent history of posting violent images etc on Facebook that were, apparently, ignored. Also an interesting note, considering the upcoming elections, the article point out that he is a son of a "far-right" politician.

A son of an "evil far-right" politician.  Of course, if he'd been the son of a far-left politician, it wouldn't be mentioned.  I blame Trump.

I hope those are ivory handles. ;)

"They're ivory. Only a pimp from a cheap New Orleans whorehouse would carry a pearl-handled pistol."

Nope. The 'left' don't even believe that either. Just not to the tune of so far this year in the USA: 3385 gun deaths. 6482 gun caused injuries, 484 unintentional shootings and 71 mass shootings (four or more shot). Only South Africa beats America to the crown of leader of shootings. But the year is young, plenty of time to make up numbers.

Who else here came from a politically liberal family and a part of the country in which guns were never seen or used, and thus has never fired a gun? The sheer explosive power of a gun scares me, in the same way that the first time you sat behind the wheel at sixteen you were suddenly overwhelmed by the power of a car, and panicked with the sense that you could easily kill someone and weren't sure you could control it. I am guessing that, as with the new driver analogy, there is a virgin factor here, and that once you get over that initial fear and start doing it, with instruction, you'll feel more in control. But while I would like to go to the local range and start learning because I am becoming increasingly concerned for my safety, I do have that newbie fear of the explosive power of a gun. Go ahead, accuse me of having vaginitis, but I'm hoping someone here has been through this and can offer some useful tips.

My family were centrists and dad was a fudd that used guns for hunting. He took me shooting as a kid and i liked doing it but the hunting thing always put me off and i always connected guns with hunting. When i got older i would shoot a friends guns and i fell in love with his Ruger 10/22 and i ended up buying one and modding it out. In the beginning i was stuck between a fudd/target shooting phase and i thought no one needed an AR15. Then the Obama shit started and forced me to pay more attention to my rights and i bought my first AR15. After taking it out and shooting though 3/16" steel plate with tracer rounds i was hooked. That's when it gets dangerous though because then black rifles end up multiplying and filling up gun safes and draining your bank account. Then your waifu starts being a smartass and asking why your buying more when you can only shoot one at a time and why you have glocks in the dish washer. Then you tell her to go back to the kitchen and keep canning food and storing it in the basement because 1776 is about to commence again! ~desu
