I'm glad it's been 6 years since you've been bothered.

By any chance had you used a ouija board before any of these occurences?

Sounds like a meteor. Did it change colors at all?
No, it stayed green and was bright.  So, it was a meteor?  Thanks for any advice... it freaked me out.

Sounds like it to me, especially if it was fast moving along a straight trajectory. There are a variety of colors they can take on, and can sometimes change color as material is shed from them. If you saw it while it was dark outside you may have noticed a bright tail behind it as well.

Ever since hearing those ouija board horror stories on Coast when I was young I haven't dared even consider trying one of those. There were some rather shady looking people who were friends of my old roommate that were over at the house I was living in from time to time. Who knows what kind of crap they were into? They didn't seem like the type of people I'd ever have at my own house. My old roommate was a decent person, but he did have questionable judgement.

Ever since I moved away from the Seattle area, and away from that roommate, I haven't had any occurrences.

Hi! I'm new here but I have two stories, one that happened to me and one that happened to my mother.

I'll start with the one that happened to my mother. When I was about 5 years old, my grandpa died. His death was very sudden and to this day, were not sure how he died. Before he died, my mother ( whom he was very close with) swears she saw him stand in front of her in the living room of our old house and she saw him waving goodbye. The following morning my grandma called my mom saying that grandpa died over night.

The second one is my story. When I was about 14 I hung out on the culdasack on my street  with my friends, every summer ( and weekends when the weather was nice) we'd hang out goof around and what not. Well, one night around 8 AM I saw an orange star and thought nothing of it...until it started to move. It moved in a horizontal pattern, only going back or forth. Then it disappeared , my friends all saw it and we were not sure what it was. We thought that it may have been an airplane since we live on a flight path and they fly over all the time, but that didn't explain how it moved and why it was so far up in the sky. But yeah that's my story :)

I just saw a pale white / orangeish light moving fast across the sky at dusk the other day. It was relatively low in the sky and silent. I was probably a meteor with no tail, but it was an interesting thing to see nonetheless.

Supernatural Experiences is a euphemism for  "drug trip" or "severe mental health crisis"

I was listening to fineartstream this past AM, when they played Art's first interview with Malachi Martin.   Ain't it funny how all events of "possession" devolve back to Catholics and Catholicism?   What did humanity do to deal with "possession" before the Romans adopted the religion and created "Catholicism"?

I am largely in agreement with this prognosis with the modifier that a small percentage of these are unassociated with these two qualifying preconditions and are simply "super-weird" natural experiences, and also that drug trips and severe mental health crisis are not outside the white lines of normality.

Uhm, does anybody get the connection here?

Is that a call-out that I shouldn't mention "possession" stories as "supernatural," or that you didn't like my linking it to Catholicism?
Aldous, don't start our communication by calling me out, 'cause I've been digging most of your writings since before I joined in here  :-* 8)

I'd put it at 85/15. The 15% are legitimate "super weird" events. I'm sure they occur, unfortunately they tend to occur to people who are easy to discredit.
Drug trips and mental health crisises are totally normative behavior in my eyes. I don't think I know anybody who isn't a drug fiend or inherently insane.

Exorcisms are performed in many Pentecostal and other churches. As the New Testament shows, Catholics don't have exclusive rites (hee). In fact, exorcisms were performed before the Roman era. Many varied cultures have their own unique ceremonies for "casting out demons".

When I was a teenager, I saw shadows out of the corner of my eye every so often, when I was alone.

I consider myself a Christian and believe in Christ, but I do not for the most part believe in prayer.
My feeling is God created wonderful things, but cannot intervene.

Anyways, my story was around 1995, when I was living in the San Fernando Valley in a small single by the intersection of Sepulveda and Roscoe. I was a salesman for an Adult Video company as was my
ex con, heroin addicted roomate. There was alot of negative energy in my life and in our neighborhood. We slept on the floor in opposites ends.

One night I am having a nightmare in which a dark force is choking me in my sleep. Afraid at first, in my dream I remember saying to the thing that you can't hurt me, I believe in Jesus. My fear went away, and after a moment so did the choking sensation. I woke up, and with 1 minute, my roomate in his sleep says that something is choking me and he wakes up with his eyes bulging out of fear.

Whatever had been screwing with me, went to attack him.

I went to a psychic in the early '80s after my father died suddenly. The psychic medium was George Anderson before he got sort of famous. He didn't know anything about me other than my first name so he had no information about me. The first thing he told me was that my father was met by Mary and Salvatore when he crossed over. Those were my father's parents who died in the 1940s. The psychic had no way of knowing their names. He didn't do the routine of fishing for names, like John Edward does with names beginning with a certain letter. George Anderson came right out and said Mary and Salvatore. People don't believe me when I tell them, but that is exactly what happened.

avi, are you Anagrammy in disguise?

ah-HA! I knew I'd remarked on this somewhere before.
and now, as soon as Anagrammy turns up on 'art quits coast', Avi mysteriously stops posting...

coincidence? there's no such thing.  8)

Stories like this are what keep me interested in the topic. I'd love to hear more. Do you think your life was in any way changed by this?

I have a few experiences that I can't explain.

I used to live in an old crafstman style home, built in 1925. It was probably some kind of servants dwelling because the house behind me was really big, while mine was only about 1/3 it's size (maybe  1,400 sqft) and had a flagstone walkway leading back toward the larger house. Anyway, it was really old, had hardwood floors and was just kind of basic. Sometimes at night, my wife (at the time) and I would hear banging going on in the kitchen. We agreed it was the cabinet doors opening and closing, but we never witnessed it. We had cats, and they were easy enough to blame, but I remember one time the racket was really intense and I sat up in bed to see all the cats asleep around me. I remember being paralyzed with fear.

Another time, in the same house, I was awakened by something. The phenomena always occurred between midnight and 3:00 am, as per the paranormal textbook. Anyway, I saw a bright, almost neon, green light zig-zagging down the hall and disappearing. I figured it may have been the reflection of vehicle lights, somehow making it's way through the blinds, but the more I think about it, I don't know what it was. Green lights? Weird. I never made contact with any entities. I think there was something there.

I sold the house in 2006 and bought another house built in 1963 - and that is another story. Stay tuned, lol. I believe something got stirred up in the wake of my very painful and quite brutal divorce and subsequent home remodel. Haunted places or haunted people? I have other stories that I'll get to in time.
