Guy crashes trash into folks watching Endymion Krewe's parade. Suspected drunk driver. This stuff seems to be happening more. (Not the purposeful Muslim peace but some drunk plowing into parades or events. That gal In OK, SXSW, and now Mardi Gras.)  :'(
He probably thought they were protesters.

I could see the OK thing or the SXSW one (smaller town event and the latter guy drunk/high fleeing cops) but NOLA PD has a big prescence and during Mardi Gras streets pretty well blocked off and crowded and youd have to be literally blind drunk not to notice crowds. (Tho cops pick their battles, I stole a NOLA PD wood sign from a barrier to hang in my dorm room a long time ago. Why? It seemed like a good idea at the time.) I wonder if they still have the drive-thru Daquari and liqour stores in LA? Could explain...

“What other choice is there than to be exactly who we are?”

She told a pretty big "white" lie, and I suppose prospective employers don't want a sue-happy liar on staff.

Sad...one of the last stations in a major market that has a personality. Now to be assimilated by the Clear Channel Borg or similar.

That is a shame, because WGN's programming always had character and engaging local personalities. It was where I first heard Ian Punnett when he had an afternoon show for a couple of years that was usually zany in a good way. I'm not surprised at the news, though, because it started going downhill a few years ago, and dropping the Cubs games after more than sixty years because the management didn't want to pay the price for the rights was not a good sign. I just hope the new ownership doesn't sack Orion Samuelson, who's been doing the daily farm report since 1960.

They are gutting the company. They spun off the newspaper division a few years ago. They just sold Tribune Tower and the Bradley Center. I knew when they sold Tribune Tower that it was only a matter of time before WGN AM was going to be sold since that's the only thing that they do there now.

QuoteProstitution is neither illegal nor regulated nationwide in Spain but there are restrictions placed on where prostitutes can ply their trade, for example fines are imposed on those caught picking up prostitutes near schools.

The PricewaterhouseCoopers accountant handed Warren Beatty the wrong envelope because he was too busy shit posting on Twitter and wasn't paying attention.

What a cringey moment. The guy they sent on stage to rectify things didn't help though. He seemed like such a flustered, angry snowflake. Guys, I'm NOT kidding. You didn't win.  >:( ;D

I wasn't going to watch the Oscars but I couldn't sleep so I turned on the TV.  I felt bad for Beatty and Dunaway as I'm sure they received the most flak before the story got out that they were handed the wrong envelope.

It felt good though to see the ceremony descend into chaos as I have no love for today's film industry as a whole what with all of the snowflakes that dominate it.  The Oscars are a shadow of what they once were.  20 years ago, you still had people like Palance around to provide an entertaining time.  There is no one in today's Hollywood that has the humor of a Jack Palance or the charm of a David Niven.

I will say there are a few actors I like such as Jeremy Renner and Gerard Butler but they are few and far between.  As for the host, Jimmy Kimmell.  Lame and not funny.  I long for the days of Hope and Crystal.

I have a free rental of Moonlight that I could watch but I'm not because it looks boring as hell.

I think I've only seen one of the nominated movies this year and, as I was telling you, I didn't really understand it.  :-\

I saw Hacksaw Ridge and Hell or High Water.   I recommend both heartily.  I do have Arrival but have yet to sit down and watch it.  I could care less about the others.

I don't even watch movies it took me a while to understand what was going with the mix up after seeing it posted on /pol/. I like this new timeline we have memed into existence, it's going to be a dank 8 years.

I'm a movie buff but my tastes tends to gravitate toward last century during the Golden Age of Hollywood.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a publicity stunt by organisers to get people talking about it the next day.

When I heard about it, that was my first thought. Hollywood is struggling.

I tried to watch Hacksaw Ridge but fell asleep halfway through. A war flick about a pacifist just wasn't cutting for me, I guess.  :-\

I only watch Turner Classic Movies and El Rey Network for movies.

The last half is about as good as a war movie can get.

Shit! I thought it was going to turn out to be just one of those slow starters. I fell asleep too soon. I'll have to give it another shot when I'm more alert. I really want Mel Gibson to keep directing movies. Apocalypto is one of my favorite movies of the past decade and I'll always consider Braveheart a classic. FREEDOM!!!  ;D

Yeah, it really pissed me off when he was blackballed by Hollywood.  He is easily the most interesting director working in the biz today.  Hopefully, he will live to a ripe old age like Eastwood so he can make plenty of movies.  I loved Apocalypto too.
