Don't take this the wrong way, but are you a chick?

I bet you said that a few times on those getaways to Bangkok!

I had the same thought about this poster as well, only I had it first! Actually, yesterday.

[shrug] Retard it is, then.

Don't take this the wrong way, but are you a chick?  Because this whole do-si-do about complaining about something and then turning around and disclaiming any interest once the original buttsore is salved is something that just screams "female" to me.  And every other heterosexual male.

I'm a guy, but I'd still like to have sex with you while you're shouting "take that, retard!"

What made you think that?

At the risk of being accused of both using a term incorrectly and using a 'trendy' term I think you are suffering from the Dunning-Kruger effect.

'Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man'

Two notes to self:
1) Don't read this shit while eating lunch, lest one choke to death.
2) Leave S.V. the hell alone, as he is lugging the Lady Boy bomb around  and is not afraid to drop it.

I'm not entirely sure he'd even address you if that was to occur. Perhaps.

There's a very good reason for that. Let's just say the mile high club isn't that fussy about it's guest list.

The Dude was actually the opposite (more or less) of the Dunning-Kruger effect.  It turned out he was an extremely intelligent person who just chose to be a slacker. (Again, if I can use that previously 'trendy turn.')  Maybe I should wait until fearboyswithbugs tells me what its meaning is these days.

Thanks. One never knows what the proper terms for things are and one must be ever so careful lest people find offense. Sometimes I wonder if it is not the SJW and the crazy politicians but just the publishing and editing companies and bureaucrats just trying to keep busy and a job and contracts. The latest I've heard is that various governments are taking gender out of government documents- lots of reprints, revising, and editing.

On a completely serious note, many of the reasons that seem to vex you regarding the changing of diagnosis comes not from the medical profession, but from organizations that are rife with family members that refuse to accept the reality of the situation. The DSM wasn't changed regarding Asperger's completely because of medical clarity. It had a great deal to do with families' unwillingness to have their child seen by a specialist in the child's early years. I know a doctor who has a child with autism. That child is much lower on the autism scale than where Asperger's falls. He was unable or unwilling to recognize his child didn't have Asperger's. The doctor had to have his nose rubbed with case after case that were reviewed before he changed his screening procedures. Yes, it's nuts, yes people are emotionally ill-equipped to handle family members with any kind of developmental disability. And part of that stigma is the claim of some that they feel wronged because they get shit for using the term retard.

I wasn't aware of this change regarding asperger's but I did follow some of the discussion on the process of assembling the DSM.  My reading was that they were going the exact opposite way of medical clarity to the point where there was great concern from some that virtually every behavior would be regarded as a disorder.  I don't know what the final product is though, and I didn't even know the new DSM had come out.

There are factions that do indeed shun the term. I have so little to do with the deaf, that I don't have much to say. (fuck, fancy that.)

It requires a duality of thought, principle and practical.  Deaf people in my area take advantage of benefits granted to disabled people (discount cards for public transportation, for example) even though they don't consider themselves disabled and don't want others to consider them as such.  In other countries, not as affluent as the USA, they don't have the luxury of being high-minded.  Seventy-five percent of Deaf girls, and 2/3 of Deaf boys are sexually exploited before their teens in one country I live in.  Deaf relatives who have a disabling illness (stroke, for example) are sometimes taken by train to a poor neighborhood and dumped on the street like an unwanted animal.  Being butthurt about a descriptive label doesn't make the cut right now over there.

If I was complaining about the use of those terms I would have complained about them to you. I never did.  I explained why I brought them up and I further said that I found the explanation from our sufferer of the Dunning-Kruger effect on why he didn't call you out on them to be wholly unsatisfactory.

You sound kind of butthurt about this, again.  Yeah, you're a chick.

Why are you so opposed to the idea?  The British navy popularized sodomy and half the males in England have buggered the other half at one time or another.

I'm going to chalk this one up to jealousy.  You'll just to have to settle for Snookie, again.

those two situations aren't even remotely comparable to, for example, losing a parent. Until you go through it (twice, in my case) then perhaps you don't see why it's a good idea to leave a bit of space for things to settle before poking your oar in.

Oh, your parents died? Welcome to the fucking club. Turns out, lots of people have dead parents.

You are mistaken on this point you're blathering about. You might have a reason to say that an individual ought not to roll up to someone's house, and scream into a person's face, "Your mother was an idiot!!!", but this is the Internet.

To suggest that all commentary that you deem to be negative should utterly cease until some vague, unspecified waiting period has passed is an unworkable, bullshit idea, and I'm embarrassed that you're one of the few people participating in this thread that I didn't have to unignore.

It's calculated disrespect.  He's signaling that I'm not worth the trouble to insult using fresh, original material.

You have no idea how diabolical Snoopy can be if there is a woman or an alien skull at stake.
