Discuss who you think will get the nomination and why

Juan

Hillary has bought the nomination through the years.

It didn't turn out so well in 2008.

Next?

Clinton Inc will buy it win unless she's indicted.

I'm not sure, but that is certainly a possibility. I was hoping to get some real rational discussion about which one should win and why. I noticed there was a Sanders 2016 thread, but no HRC 2016 thread.

Maybe real rational discussion is too much to ask for on BellGab, but I was wondering if there are any living, breathing HRC supporters, or if this is just some foregone conclusion.

Full disclosure: I won't be voting for either. I am just interested in people's views on the difference between these two candidates.

Clinton has real strength in the old feminists. younger lib women, and the urban black vote; ie the bulk of Dem primary voters.  If you parse her campaign and proposals they read like the Emily's List wish list with real economics and foreign policy afterthoughts.  Her selection as SecState was pay-back for her support after Obama humiliated her.  Bernie may win IA and NH, but hits the wall when the primaries go into the South and West and he's portrayed as a NE Jew Socialist who looks down on colored people.

I'd likely vote for Trump before I'd vote for the f'ing Arkansas grifters.  Better the honest fascist than the lying opportunists.

She has the active, on the campaign trail, support of Lena Dunham.  While I think Dunham is an ass clown, her Millenial generation seems to think she has wisdom.

As for 2008, race trumps (ha) gender.

Most Millennials can't afford HBO.  20 years ago Dunham (i.e. when Bill was in office) would have been considered a soft porn producer. Not to mention that unlike Obama's buzz with young people in 08, the Millenials won't vote this time, especially for a frikking dinosaur like Hillary who lives forever in 1986 and hasn't goddamned clue of the collapse of the white collar job market.  Sanders is far more in tune with 25 yr olds; his kids didn't snag six-figure first jobs on Wall St with zero work experience at age 22 like Chelsea.  But he won't win.  The RNC is finally recognizing that they may have to support Trump while the DNC will do everything legally possible to prevent Sanders doesn't win.

It would be nice if competence trumped all but I'm asking for too much.  If any grunt federal employee had handled emails in the manner of Hillary, they would already be behind bars.

More likely demoted.  In my experience as a DoD contractor, they're all pretty sloppy with classified docs.  Security audits are extremely rare.

Not from what I saw and I was more than a contractor.  First they were terminated and then interesting times with the DOJ.  With what's stacked-up so far with Clinton, they'd be at camp Fed.

Clinton's attack on Sanders over his vote on the gun mfrs protection years ago shows desperation and is backfiring; his lead in NH grows.

Sanders.

High chance Hillbeast will be indicted.

Sanders is already leading Hillary in the polls.

The more time goes by, more people are going to be familiar with Sanders.

2008 all over again.

If its Sanders v Trump, Mike Bloomberg will jump in as an Indie.  But the Clinton fix is so strong that she'll be the nominee even if indicted.  Sanders will fade to black on Super Tuesday.

Juan

If anyone decides to jump in as an Indy at this late date deserves to waste a lot of money.  The deadline for registering has already passed in a number of states.  News people fantasize about some late entering Indy, but they have never worked on an Indy or third party campaign.  I have.  You don't start this late.

I believe filing deadlines are closed only for some primaries.  The general election deadlines must be after the conventions or no one could run. Perot announced in February and was doing well until he bailed with a goofy story like someone else we know.  He got almost 20% despite a chaotic campaign.

The Democrats could always change the rules to their primary. But seems unlikely that they will need to.

The primary rules are developed by the parties but passed by the state legislatures before each election cycle.  Any rule changes made now wouldn't apply to this election.

Woman Confronts Hillary Clinton About Her Health

The Trumpster has already fired a warning shot about her supposed issues with incontinence.
Will be interesting to see if this issue takes off or not.

This sums up very well why Trump might have a good shot versus Hillary. Independents and cross-over voters could weigh the choice they've made just this way. That's the level of outrage with political corruption in the USA.

Wow, what a novel campaign issue that would be. Just the thought of Hillary peeing on a Persian rug and managing to set off World War III. George H.W. Bush did throw up on the Chinese, but that was just a one-time thing.

If the FBI recommends indictment, and the Dept of Just Us doesn't go along, we may see a mass resignation from the FBI.

NOt sure where all this "Obama WH loves Hillary" comes from; i.e that Obama will protect her from indictment.  There's no love lost between them and her appointment as SecState was pure politics to keep Clinton Inc on the rez in '08.  It's widely believed the initial leak about HRC emails came from the WH.

Although the handlers did roll Bill out to stump for Barky in 2012.  I'm thinking O will stick the shiv in and do whatever he can to remove the Clinton's from the playing field forever.  He's a Chicago Pol - they play rough.

One thing is for certain - it won't be boring.

Oh right, the Japanese. That was a lucky break. If he visited China on that trip, disaster was narrowly averted.

Besides the hyperbole in your post, there is a kernel of true concern which is not being discussed. Putting aside politics, I don't think her health is being looked into closely enough. If all of this stuff is going on with her health then it is a legitimate concern.
