I was not raised in the church.  I was agnostic for almost 30 years.  I'm not brainwashed (that I know of!) and I came to Jesus of my own accord.  The same way anyone would (and can!).

They did.  I was in grade school at that time.  When me and my friends would ride our bicycles around, those guys treated us like we were the 'bikers.' 
They also policed the neighborhood.  Nobody from another section of town dared start shit there.
