He was the only landlord I've ever had that did not require me to supply him with a sarcastic nickname to use behind his back.  Gaylord sufficed just fine.  And what's even better, I could call him Gaylord right to his face.  And why wouldn't I, it's his name isn't it?

We have plenty of people from all over the place living here, and they sometimes name their kids - and adopt English names for themselves - all sorts of out of style names.  Or characters they like from books, movies etc, like, say, Cinderella.  In my experience, this tends to be Asians more than others.
