"The incredible list of supposed horrors that increasing carbon dioxide will bring the world is pure belief disguised as science." - Climate expert William Happer, from Princeton University.

As if anyone with any sense needed proof...

The empty theories that back the claims really are laughable. Disregard solar activity, volcanic activity, natural co2, the Earth Orbit, the cyclical ice ages, and blame man in the U.S. only for what he produced yestersay in the name of prosperity. If you notice too as the hoax went of a cliff the last 10 years they don't discuss solutions anymore either. There are utterly no specific causes, results, or solutions. It's so vague and empty it's impossible to judge anymore. Man made global disruption due to capitalism. We need more government!

Yeah but they've got a zillion scientists in unrelated fields to dispute this

Zoo

I am so happy things are going to hell, that way when it all falls apart we can look back and laugh at how stupid people are. We do not need science right guys the Dark Ages worked out so well!!1

The scientists in the related field of climatology are unanimous. In the field of meteorology they're unanimous. Except for this old curmudgeon.

That's not true at all.  Shame on you.

I think Analog is really Al Gore.

You should know by now that the usual anti science posters on here will grab one (and only one) article that supports their opinion uncritically and neatly disregard the hundreds or thousands of papers that support climate change. Because that's all to do with raising taxes, gun grabbing, spreading ebola, Communism, AIDS, gay marriage etc.

Bear in mind the proprieter of the Daily Express is a certain Richard Desmond. He runs a TV porn channel, and is facing a constructive dismissal case with an ex senior employee who he allegedly threw a mug of coffee at and told her to go and waitress in India.

I wouldn't put too much credence into the source; it has a (shrinking) readership of mainly middle aged/ elderly old dears who still believe Churchill is PM and never heard of porn.

Hey, QK missed this from the same paper. How? He's usually so diligent.

The effects of climate change: 35,000 walrus gather on Alaska beach as sea ice melts (can't be, the other guy said it was increasing) Commies.

THIS is the moment 35,000 walruses came ashore in a desperate search for sea ice in Arctic waters.
The pacific mammals, unlike seals, cannot swim for long periods and if there was ever an image to show the devastating effects of climate change then this would be it.

The image was taken about 5 miles north of Point Lay in Alaska - an area which would have previously been covered in snow at this time of year.

Andrea Medeiros, spokeswoman for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, said walrus were first spotted in September and have been moving on and off shore ever since as they search for ice.

Observers have reported around 50 carcasses on the beach from animals that may have been killed in a stampede

The headline has been altered to reflect his actual qualifications. He was in charge of a $3 billion budget for the Dept of Energy too; so clearly a liberal content to wax the taxpayers hard earned.

This old gasbag, again??

Coleman says he became an outspoken skeptic of global warming in 2007 after watching NBC's 'Green is Universal' week, where the studio lights were cut for portions of Sunday Night Football's pre-game and half-time shows.

He went on to call global warming, "the greatest scam in history".

Critics of Coleman’s have questioned his lack of academic credentials, journalism degree, and charge that he has not conducted actual research in the area of climate change. In 2008, Coleman gave a speech to the San Diego Chamber of Commerce blaming the "global warming scam" and environmentalist lobby, for rising gas and food prices. He also declared the scam "a threat to our economy and our civilization."

The American Meteorological Society has affirmed the theory of global warming.

And that other guy Happer is nothing more than a well-known gadfly.

Happer was listed as a signer of the petition...to the American Physical Society to change its position statement on climate change. The petition was signed by a few hundred of the 47,000 members and was rejected.

In July 2014 Happer said, during a CNBC interview, that "The demonization of carbon dioxide is just like the demonization of the poor Jews under Hitler."

Godwin!

Really, can't you neocons EVER come up with something substantial?

Death Row Inmate Asks For A Child As His Last Meal, Texas DOC Plan To Grant Request

ABILENE, TX--Stephen K. Walker, French M. Robertson Unit inmate in Abilene, Texas, is on death row for murder and cannibalism of the 2006 case that sentenced him to death.

When asked what he would want his final meal to be, he said with no hesitation, "A little boy."

The Department of Corrections are supposed to accept all the demands of any kind. So it was initially thought that they were buying a corpse in a morgue to satisfy the desires of Stephen Walker.

But tables turned when it was said that they were trying to find a toddler from a third world country and buy him/her alive within a budget of $25,000.

Since you bring up Texas. that brings up an interesting question- Since ebola is in Texas now, how long do you think it'll be before they elect it governor?

I believe it will be running in the Pub primaries for 2016, hoping to secure the nod for the VP slot.  Hey, if they're willing to nominate a cancer like Sarah Palin, why not a REAL disease?

Not so fast sir!
What about the inconsistencies on it's birth certificate? Many believe it was actually born in west Africa.
I say Ebola should release the long form BC.

Ebola has reluctantly withdrawn it's nomination to stand. No reason is yet forthcoming.

What are they trying to hide? Something about the "warming"? Just another instance of changing the records? Or, like the IRS, just a convenient computer problem?  ;)

Not knowing the specific problems, I can't say for certain, but according to the article the missing data was only used for weather forecasting which has no connection to climate modelling.

C'mon, I know you can do better.  The article originator and its sources failed to demonstrate credentials, experience, or research histories that would support them as experts in climate but when that happens you just need to hop back up on the horse again.  Dismissive comments only show an internal bias but I welcome objective arguments that will challenge my belief system.

You would first have to be of a disposition to alter a belief that is based on computer modeling that has been proven to be intentionally biased.

No different than debating a Jehovah's Witness...

No offense, just making a point.

The most important thing is more taxes, regulation, and globalism. Regardless if it is chicken little, Al Gore Jr and his consensus of the warming, Stan Deyo, The Quickening, Ed Dames "kill shot (s)", or the latest gimmick of the climate disruption. Regardless of the problem certainly taxes and ideally surrending rights, freedoms, and national sovereignty will solve it!

Anyway; Although QK trawled up the un-corroborated crap of a none qualified person, here's some work from scientists who are studying the effects of CO2 emissions. Guess what? Their research is based on actually doing it, not sitting on committees, and they're underestimating the damage that will be caused here, because they're still gathering data. But so far, it isn't looking good.

Oh, it's acidic oceans. They're a bad thing.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-29746880

Quote
The UK's chief scientist says the oceans face a serious and growing risk from man-made carbon emissions.

The oceans absorb about a third of the CO2 that’s being produced by industrial society, and this is changing the chemistry of seawater.

Sir Mark Walport warns that the acidity of the oceans has increased by about 25% since the industrial revolution, mainly thanks to manmade emissions.

CO2 reacts with the sea water to form carbonic acid.

He told BBC News: “If we carry on emitting CO2 at the same rate, ocean acidification will create substantial risks to complex marine food webs and ecosystems.”

He said the current rate of acidification is believed to be unprecedented within the last 65 million years â€" and may threaten fisheries in future.

The consequences of acidification are likely to be made worse by the warming of the ocean expected with climate change, a process which is also driven by CO2.

Sir Mark’s comments come as recent British research suggests the effects of acidification may be even more pervasive than previously estimated.

Until now studies have identified species with calcium-based shells as most in danger from changing chemistry.

But researchers in Exeter have found that other creatures will also be affected because as acidity increases it creates conditions for animals to take up more coastal pollutants like copper.
