New iPhone 6 Plus, now with personalized curved screen not a bug, but a feature

Remember the iPhone 4's antenna issue, where Steve Jobs accused owners of holding their phones wrong? How about the iPhone 5's tendency to create a picture with a purple flare under bright light source conditions? Now it seems the new ultra thin iPhone 6 Plus has some customers warped out of shape, because their shiny new status symbol is becoming bent.

The iPhone 6 Plus will start at $300 under contract, compared to $200 for the 6. Without a contract, the iPhone 6 Plus will cost $749, versus $649 for the iPhone 6.

Ha! Take that you tight pants, empty glasses frame wearing, dirty hipsters! Maybe if Jobs were alive today he could preach to the Cult of Mac about how they are wearing their status symbol wrong.

That's what they get for buying over priced junk made by suicidal Chinese slaves.

Bravo!

I shouldn't because it's cruel; but I think there's something quite poetic about Apple products and their aficionados; and how almost every time a new one is released, they're proven to be a naked Emporer. Having said that, if some are willing to believe that microwaving them will charge the battery they probably deserve to be skanked by crap products.

It's like everytime a new version of Windows is released. The Samsung Galaxy 6s lte plus with stylus and watch commercials are way more annoying and hipster friendly than Iphone. I have a Samsung TV and will never buy their phone. The iPhone is a great product, if you want to know ask anyone who owns one, they love it. Itunes on the other hand is a bit of a pita.

I wouldn't trade my HTC One m8 for any Apple product in the world even if Apple wasn't' an evil cabol.

I'm on my second Samsung phone, if it plays up I'll not get another. I know several people with I phones and all have experienced problems with them. I don't love any electronic device I've used or own, it's a functionary, when it isn't, it's no good to me, I certainly don't invest emotion into it.

Well put!

Last night my girlfriend was trying to find some old pics on her iPhone. She said "how in the hell did I ever use this piece of shit?" Love her.

HTC phones are crap. I used to hate Apple and all their black turtle necks too. Then I got an iPhone in 2008. It was the 1st and by far most innovative cell phone at the time it came out. It ended the need for a GPS, MP3, small laptop, when on the road. Everyone else followed along. It also got rid of the stupid ass stylus which was never efficient. Samsung being unimaginative brought it back with a new name along with their stupid watch. When Samsung does something as cutting edge and innovative and useful as the iPhone, or iTunes, or iPad, or iPod, perhaps I'll buy a Samsung product. Right now all they do is nip at Apples beals like an annoying dog.

Apple products sell themselves once you use them. It's why once people go Apple they never go back. Their products are just better designs, and much better user interface. Same reason the Mac is the industry standard for those who work in creative arts.

Or we can talk about Microsoft and their innovative Windows product that hasn't done anything useful or new in 15 years yet keeps changing and forcing everyone to follow along weather they want to or not. 17 versions and with each one it gets worse.

you mean the apple (mac GUI)  codebase bill gates walked off with and eventually ported it to x86 processors and called it "windows" ? then proceeds to play a large role in "copyright reform" that prohibits anyone else from doing exactly what he did?

Where to start... http://www.dailydot.com/technology/iphone-6-android-features/
QuoteBack in 2010, my then-groundbreaking HTC Evo 4G was kicking ass and taking names.

["New" iPhone 6 features the Evo 4G had in 2010]
1) Improved 4G
2) Larger display
3) Landscape mode

MAN this guy looks like such a Silicon Valley hipster cliche.  I just want to punch him so hard.
Yeah I agree. Plus he needs kicked where his nuts should be and dragged through the streets by his hoody until his "skinny" jeans are no more.

The name of his channel is "Unbox Therapy."  He loses more points because of the unboxing crap. Don't even get me started about how he seems less than knowledgeable about what he unboxes. He's a shill for whoever gives him their products, ad space pretending to be otherwise. I don't understand why people are so into the unboxing thing, maybe if I were 10-13 years old I'd lust after seeing ads pretending to be "treasures."

This video might make you want to punch him twice, or thrice.
A paid shill bitching about fan-boiz, faggotry pure and simple.

You mean the Xerox Alto released on March 1, 1973.
Steve Jobs seen the Alto GUI and ripped it off from Xerox.
Apple is one of the biggest patent trolls out there, well before Jobs died.
Apple "owns" rounded corners: US D504889 S1. And slid to unlock. Despite prior art.
Plenty of pirating and crying foul to go around in the entertainment & tech sectors.

Apple said "innovate" so many time for so long, that people believe the lies are truth.
Who in their right mind would buy 1-3 year old tech at a cutting edge price point?
Apple brands and sells people lifestyle products. Mostly just marketing and hype.
Apples last years steak ain't so great today, so they have to sell the sizzle.
They are not as far behind the tech curve as they use to be. Still over priced, IMO.

racist.

True enough.
There is not a race, creed, color, gender, sexual orientation, or sect that I don't dislike at some point in time. Myself included. I do try to overcome such human shortcomings, sometimes more successfully than others.

It makes no difference to me what phone people use. I know which works the best and thats all I really care about. If your HTC or Samsung works for you rock on. I'd never buy either. Everyone I know with an HTC hates it. The battery was shot after a few months. And again, Samsung brings nothing innovative to the table so I have no need for their phone. A few years ago their big claim to fame was you could touch your Samsung phone to someone else's to exchange song playlists or photos. It was the height of worthlessness.   They were so proud of it they made it the centerpiece of their commercials. Now their centerpiece is the stylus (plastic pen) that was outdated with when Palm Pilot introduced it 15 years ago. Or better, their watch phone, that isn't a phone, its just a way to access your phone, as long as your phone is within a few feet. LOL.

Apple isn't immune to money making gimmicks, they have a watch coming too, and they've changed the charging cord, again.

The plot thickens for the iPhone 6, and the 6 Plus.
Almost as juicy as hot horse porn.
Wherez your God Jobs now, Cupertino?

"The iOS 8.0.1 software is the first update to iOS 8 and was intended to fix a bunch of issues with Apple's mobile OS. However, complaints quickly started rolling in after the update was released with users saying their iPhones would no longer connect to a cellular network and that Touch ID was no longer letting them unlock their handsets with their fingerprints. Apparently the issues only affect iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus owners.

Apple has since pulled the update offline and suggested a workaround, that being a rollback to iOS 8 through iTunes. In the meantime, Apple said it's preparing iOS 8.0.2 with a fix for the issue and plans to release it "in the next few days."

Only reason I like Samsung and Androids are, usually, the cheaper price. And the ability to remove battery (thereby having extra charged batteries or completely turning off the phone) and have removal (and expandable) memory (usually mICRO SD.) Both those things help your NSA-tracking object, formerly known as smartphone, a little more secure if sh*t really hits fan or for things like traveling (some possible examples: your business stuff on one card and your personal photos or contacts on another, take out your porn on sd card when traveling to Dubai, take out your copy of the Bible if traveling to the Middle-East, keep your pirated movies on one card if coming into the USA, etc.) And really turn off your GPS and cell-tracking, if needed, by removing battery.

I can honestly say that I never seriously considered an I phone.  On one hand, I think it probably is a "better" experience and more intuitive for a new user.  However, I like the fact that I can download apps and experimental crap to my phone quite easily (and I have yet to "brick" one.)  I find that the community for android is very strong and creative.  With that said, my last phone (that I had for a few months) was not even rooted and had a battery that could not be removed.  Not the ideal phone for somebody even somewhat concerned about security and privacy...

As has been mentioned before in the thread... If an I phone provides you the experience you want that is great.  It is probably the phone you should have.  If it is android or even blackberry there is nothing wrong with that either... A windows phone?  Why would you do that to yourself??? ;)

I've had my 6+ for four months, not one bend. I like the size. It works flawlessly compared to the three androids I used previously.

Same here, only issue i had was when was with the memory type - kept locking up and rebooting, I jailbroke it, and found out i had the early test run of ram chips that were having the same issues...after a trip to apple store, they replaced it, and I again jailbroke the new one, and it too has the same memory type but from different manufacturer...I have not since had the reboot loop...and have Nothing but praise for the device...I've not even put it in a protector nor gotten a screen cover yet...but that's coming.  Best phone i've owned yet!

b_dubb

I like the larger screen though it's freakishly thin. No bending here though.

I have the smaller I phone 6 as I like the fact it can go in my front pocket. The people with the bent phones are putting it in their back pocket and sitting on them all day. I bet if you try that with any large phone, defects will happen.
