1. I can't speak for anyone else, but there's something wrong with that story.  I had a similar confrontation when I was young with someone older than me, different circumstances and at a different age, and I just physically tore into him right on the spot.  I didn't even get the best of that battle, but he never fucked with me again and neither did anyone else who knew about it.  That was the nominal point of your story, but all you really communicated -- if the story is even true -- is that you're good for one freebie for all comers.  More likely, the details of that story are what you dreamed up, punctuated by "that's what I SHOULD have done," in the aftermath of the event, and now you're narrating this stormy romance to us to make yourself look like a tough guy even before your balls dropped.  At least some of this story, maybe all of it, is pure horseshit, as evidenced by your need to keep reminding us about it.

As for the second story, I never even read that until now, so there goes your theory about that.

So let's discuss politics.  I, for one, would really like to understand what it is everyone wants the President to do about ISIS?  Did you see today we used a drone attack against a senior Al-Shabab commander in Somalia? 
Why can't this be effective against ISIS rather than full troop commitment? Also, the Peshmerga and Iraqui regulars did okay at Mosul dam with our aerial assistance.  Good enough or do we need troops?  (I oppose redeployment).
Why is a reconstituted (surgery obvious) John McCain (running in '16?) screaming "in denial or overwhelmed"?  Does he see this as his moment to seize the high ground on the security debate?

On a more sinister note, notice how, with midterm elections coming here in the US amid a stagnant economy and the Scottish Independence referendum little more than 2 weeks away in UK how much we are hearing about ISIS?  Am I just being cynical or, with Diane Feinstein and David Cameron leading the charge, are we looking away from other issues because of the boogeyman?

Finally, as to Scottish Independence, or UK Disunion, I have seen the debates between Alex Salmond and Alistair Darling and, though I really don't have skin in the game, see no compelling case for disunion.  Anyone disagree?  How much do you want to pay for Scotch, anyway?

It`s going to require arming the Kurds with heavy weaponry and providing several hundred advisers, along with, of course, intel, satellite logistics, etc.

We`ll need to put about 1500 advisers in Baghdad and PUSH the Iraqis to go on the offensive from the South.

Also, the U.S. MUST strike command and control in Syria. It`s going to be messy, and many innocents will die, but there is NO CHOICE.

Our troops will be dropped in in the West and cut off escape routes and clean up any survivors.

Of course, I should include the need to seal our borders, but thats simply not going to happen. The President has no will to do that.

al Baghdadi is the identified leader, but the more I learn about their thoroughly efficient and savvy organization, the more I suspect ISIS is really being directed by someone who's scary savvy on strategy, tactics, media, running a complex organization and Western sensibilities.  They're successfully achieving what AQ, Hamas, Hezbollah, and others have struggled to do for decades.  Not to join the ranks of the resident paranoids, but I've wondered if it's a coincidence that ISIS came to the fore, and blew across Iraq like the 4th Panzer Div hitting Poland, just as Putin began his European territory grab in Ukraine.
