Digital cordless phones using VoIP audio quality is as clear as an old-fashioned landline and cheap too.  I can't imagine anyone doing a radio interview with Art Bell using a cell phone.  And it sounds like the guy lied to Paul about his phone access.  Wow.

I still have my landline, and know many people who still have them. All businesses have them, hotels, etc. Any business that doesn't have a REAL phone is suspect.
As long as people want linelines, and pay for them, they'll be around.
