i think they pay a hundred bucks to those topical 2 minutes guests at the beginning of  the show news roundup.

he might phone mike bara, can't stand him, tho he knows jack about rockets, he kept saying he is an aeronautics engineer on a tv documentary but he was just an assistance machinist, basically a blue collar worker and a liar.

he left university because he couldn't get it

he  has stopped harassing ppl claiming to be abductees on tv on the verge of breaking down and laughing in their face while they cry

recently he has switched from a debunker and sceptic to a full conspiracy theorist, why? he found it's much more profitable

i respect ppl like prof Jacobs and late Dr leir but most of these ufologists are greedy immoral lying creeps

Don't get expat started.  For that matter don't get me started :P.

Tonight's program would be a perfect opportunity to bring RCH on to discuss the events behind the event re the Antares rocket crash.   I'm sure he has a take on that event that no one else would.....

Instead I imagine we'll get the pompous windbag Robert Zimmerman to run it down.  He seems to be the de facto "Science Advisor" to the program now -- certainly when it comes to space --  like it or not.
The presumption being that RCH has any science credentials.

He's boring though.  Hoagland always has something to say that's way outside the lines and after all, isn't that what Coast is supposed to be about?

Hmmm, but Hoagland doesn't say anything that approaches science or even truth and reality. Apart from that he's at the top of his game. It's all in the data.

And he has plenty of data.  That much is certain.

It's worse than that. Bara is such a media whore that he took on the role of a sceptic just for the opportunity to "star" (his word) in that stupid series "Uncovering Aliens." Check the IMDB user reviews on that one. Here's a sample:

Of all the lame, tedious insults to intelligence "reality TV" has foisted on audiences, this is the worst. Four people who are supposed to be intelligent, sophisticated researchers sit around slack-jawed with awe listening to any kind of bunk coming from "witnesses," as if the four just fell off the back of the pumpkin truck.

That rationalwiki page is splendid. Laugh of the month.

I didn't know that, so that's at least a triple opportunistic U-Turn by Bara.

The thing is imho some ufologists are:

* decent ppl & doing research like Jacobs & Leir, who actually sacrifice and suffer financially / career wise
* or ok ppl and merely ok in pseudo research or just reporting like Hancock or Howe, but that's how they make their living
* some are ok ppl but half or mainly useless in their work
* some who are ok but completely useless in their work, just making money and talking crap, majority of them
* some are new agey or wackos thinking some greys raping their ass with probes & impregnating their women serially & ripping off fetuses is hallelujah
* some are creeps, quite a few
* and a few completely immoral characters who just make your skin crawl

I guess it's like politics and many can see creeps clearly and many others just are fodder as Goebbels happily claimed.

I tried to give that show a chance, but how "real" is it when everyone seems to be waiting for their lines to come up?

Some of them are trying too hard to be badasses. Bara seems like he's spending the show trying to out-brain everyone in hopes of scoring with Maureen.

Sounds about right...

I loved hearing Terrance McKenna dismiss Hoaxland to Art today. Relistening to old Terrance on the internet, psychedelia, etc circa 98 and Art, toward very end, asks him about Hoagland since a caller mentioned 19.5 degrees. And McKenna said "I know most of these guys and they have always been squirrelly. I played poker with...." and Art started laughing.

I apologize but I don't like gray squirrels- rats with tails! I do, grudgingly, admire their ability and amazing dexterity to get into attics, ruin tomato crops  >:( >:(, etc though.  Red are good but I really like Rock Squirrels, mine here are almost half black and fun to watch.

What would Hoagland say about this!?

That he was vindicated? Typical CT web site...goes from Mars, to the Moon, to UFO's to 'Thur gonna take ur gurns'. All (low) life is there.

Indubitably you are correct that Hoagland would seize upon this (if he was allowed on C2C anymore.) After checking his wrist-watch, "of course." It is all about the data. Just who is the C2C "Science Advisor" now, by the way?

Didn't Ken Johnston work with Hoagland?  If I am correct he is not a Dr. nor did he actually work for NASA, just did shit for them  without being paid.

This article smells like it hasn't been actually researched at all.

Here's the real story. Ken was never a direct NASA employee, but worked for a NASA contractor, Brown & Root, in the Lunar Receiving Laboratory. His job was to send out properly documented Moon rocks to scientific labs for analysis. He managed the Data and Photo Control Department within the LRR only, not the main photo archive which was in a different building. Ken's passion was to become a real astronaut. When he was told that they were looking for science astronauts, he obtained a D. Phil. from the Reform Baptist Theological Seminary in Colorado, a diploma mill.

He never worked with Hoagland. He showed Hoagland his binder full of glossy 10x8 photo-prints and Hoagland put some of them on his own office scanner. The scanner glass was contaminated, so smears and scratches (not to mention a beard hair) showed up in the total black of the lunar sky, especially when Hoagland cranked the brightness up. Presto!! Skyscrapers on the Moon!!!

Somebody unkindly remarked that it looked like Hoagland had had an office party, and a couple of women had played the scanner game without panties on.

Johnston did refuse to destroy some photos but never told NASA he was keeping them and was never fired by NASA.

Any examiner.com story should probably be taken with a grain of salt.

Where's Hoagie been lately?  I'm worried he fell in a torsion field.

He was on
The Tom Anderson Show, 7th Nov. But there's now strong evidence that his goose is cooked at C2C. Bob Zimmerman is on his way to Israel to visit family, so as space commentator last night they fell back on Zubrin. A Mars specialist commenting on the Moon. Tells you all you need to know.

Not that I buy into Hoagland's theories (at all) but he was ok, sometimes. And a link back to the good old days of C2C and Dreamland. I recall he was on C2C with Norry post his Dark Weekend Sirus/XM Bell show appearance. So it is still related to that or simply the "new direction" of C2C that he no longer appears? And just who is the official C2C "science adviser" now?

Of course, science in this case deserves an extra set of (air) quotes or a PSEUDO tag is big flashing letters.

Considering LMH has done her monthly stint with Snorge after her appearance on DM with Art, it the fallout between Snorge and RCH must have been pretty bad.

Even before the DM show, it seemed RCH had been on the outs with some of the people in the conspiracy spank community after the Chichen Itza incident. Kinda wondered if that had something to do with his exile from faux-C2C

Well, that settles it. Noory announced last night that the pseudo-science genius will be back with us soon. AAaaaaarrgghhhhhhh.....

Look on the bright side; he's contained. While he isn't gadding about to other outlets to preach his inspiring and quirky alternatives to the REALWORLDâ,,¢ and MOONâ,,¢; he's not hurting the innocent.

George said Hoagland had moved house "and it had not gone well." Suggestions, please, for what that might mean. Here's your starter for ten -- The U-Haul trailer detached from the minivan and all his space memorabilia fell into a canyon.

Or....He found his new house was exactly on the 19.5 degree parallel but it had absolutely no influence on it's cosmic, Martian, Lunar or South American connection to any of them. His life's work (well, some of his life's work) might be unraveling before his own none evidence. Oh, and he found an ancient Martian smoking a joint in his new garage.

Mike Bara is throwing Hoagland's house warming party, but he's struggling to get a list up as everyone is washing their hair that night.

Maybe he tried to move into one of the Martian apartments he claims to have found.
