... I knew in my gut, months before he actually "went live", that something would happen. In fact, every time he and Keith had it out and the show was threatened before it even began, I wasn't in the least bit shocked...

What I'd like to know is why his first response - and apparently his only response - to whatever problem arises or whatever doesn't go his way is to quit or threaten to quit whatever show he's doing.

Seeing that pattern repeat itself so often, isn't the next step to wonder whether the various issues that come up were actually simply used as excuses, if not concocted?

That I can believe Segundus.  :) Once you start feeding, the word gets out and soon you'll be running a kitty soup kitchen.
Well, this family hangs about in the yard and chases away any others who are not part of the group.  We may move and plan to take our little guy with us, and maybe his brother, but it's sad to split up the family.  I don't think the other two would want to move with us, even if we could catch them.  Each morning we escort the overnighting cat/s downstairs to the backyard and the other two come out of their houses and go through a morning greeting ritual, scent rubbing each other.  It's adorable.

Maybe Art's frustrated but can't for the life of him figure out WTF to DO. Frustrated from all the crappy, re-hashed, outed-as-freakin-total-frauds-or-spooks guests. I.E., sick of the genre (and what Kreeper George has done to it) and doesn't know how to change the format without just friggin quitting. But he loves radio, and is on the threshold of a dream again...

He's gonna wind up in the Nervous Hospital I tell ya!

Don't know why but your post made me think of this joke:

This guy dies and is sent to Hell. Satan meets him and shows him the doors to three rooms and says he must choose one of the rooms to spend eternity in.

So Satan opens the first door. In the room there are people standing in cow manure up to their necks. The guy says "No, please show me the next room".

Satan shows him the next room and this has people with cow manure up to their noses. And so he says no again.

Finally, Satan shows him the third and final room. This time there are people in there with cow manure up to their knees drinking cups of tea and eating cakes.

So the guy says, "I'll choose this room". Satan says O.K. The guys is standing in there eating his cake and drinking his tea thinking, "Well, it could be worse", when the door opens. Satan pops his head around, and says "O.K. tea-break is over. Back on your heads!"

Right, well, you never really know what God or the Devil has in store for you, do you? Which in turn raises in my mind this existential question: How would Heather handle it if JC called? Or could Heather handle it? Sorry to segue in this direction again. Maybe the Devil made me do it.

You slathered innuendo all over with your "questions" about Ramona, his life, etc. You've shown what you really are. You DO NOT like Art.
Hmm.  I consider that I repeated innuendo that I had observed years back.  If I did not like Art I would have found sites and posted them.  There were people saying/suspecting pretty bad things and they had me going for a time, not concluding anything, but wondering.  Frankly, it's only fairly recently that I've been convinced  that could not have happened.  That's because I've grown to like/understand Art more as I listen to him.

My totally adored husband (smile) has/had asthma and thinks only very young or very elderly folks die of asthma these days.  Well, he's no doctor, and I disagree, people probably do.

Liking someone, to me, does not dissuade me from contemplating their infallibility.  We are, most of us, capable of horrible things, given the right circumstance.  Entertaining such possibilities is something novelists do all the time.

All I can tell you is that we can entertain bad ideas of those we like and good ideas of those we hate.  Humanity is complex.

People marry, swearing lifelong fidelity, but that is done with the full knowledge that at least half of us cheat.  That, too, seems incongruous.

Whatever you have to tell yourself to sleep at night. You repeatedly brought up "questions" over, and over and over. It's pretty clear you were trying to be clever. Go back and count all the buts.

Pure speculation, but I believe JC is Phil Hendrie as well.

No, please, if JC isn't really JC then everything really is a lie. Somebody say it isn't true. Platypuses like me are ready to roll with any good convincing story.

Predicating your delusions upon some God/Devil myth being real is sadly symptomatic of externalizing your own sacred spirituality. Is it not?

What if JC was the stalker's first victim? He hasn't been around in awhile. Disappeared off the face of God's green earth.

The Hendrie conspiracy.
I want to believe.

Listening to Hendrie's 3-hr parody collection on youtube now. Good stuff! Not saying he couldn't be JC, but I kinda doubt it.

Would be hilarious to find out that it was Phil this whole time, though.

Art and Phil have been friends for eons. I almost guarantee JC is Phil Hendrie.

Don't listen to them--I was wrong. JC is real, as real as...as...um...I'll get back to you.

Seems like when George first used his fake JC  (UFO Phil) that Hendrie would have then had something to say about it if it really had been him. I can't see Hendrie as the type of guy to sit back and allow a low-life hack like The Noron rip off his shtick without at least saying something about it. Also it kinda seems like Art, during one of his retirements would have done similar.
Don't know yet. Still looking for my collection of Art/JC calls. The Sennheisers, some cheap whiskey and a real dark night should do the trick. Then I'll know.

As I suggested a day or so ago. I think Art, or Keith, should've called Phil and asked him to do the show as "Art" until the stalker/sniper was caught or Art sorted his situation, instead of the quitting. During the turmoil Phil could've even did guests or callers if they were hard to come-by.

That's a great idea. But that would be hysterically funny, and ya gotta remember that Keith, Art, Heather don't do hysterical. Well...you know what I mean.

Redacted is pregnant with Hoagie's baby and this whole stalker thing is a ruse to divert attention.

Might be a chance for a possibility of a surprise Art Bell appearance perhaps? He could call in just like a regular caller... ;)

This was just posted by Ashcraft:

Art took it personally and a bit of a fight ensued.  But later as things calmed down, it became clear to both of us who the villain really was.  Art and I still talk via email and phone calls and as far as I am concerned what happened before is water under the bridge. (Between Art and myself).  I feel as though that is the way he sees things as well.

Well, Art got high on ether, tried to slit his wrists but missed and damn near castrated himself. Tried again missed again and fucked up his arm.
