Last night George pondered whether "do they refurbish the forests?" The guest was not perplexed by Norry's odd use of the English language, maybe due to his upbringing in Rhodesia and dealing with natives there (?,) and replied that many companies do plant new trees.
Ha!  Up next.

"How often should yeeewww remodel a forest?"

I havenít read this thread in a while. Glad to see the old jokes are not forgotten. I last listened on Sunday and was surprised to learn that the emerging artists are now played for only half the show. One of the songs sounded like a couple of guys coked up, then had a few beers before turning on a cassette recorder.
George Noory still sucks.

He could be mad that LMH after "retiring" from radio shows (read Norry's show) was on with Knapp and then was on GZ with Clyde and so is taking back Sunday. Dare we call it an "invasion," to use the term he uses about his "big events" live?

Personally, I'd like to see Syrett get more nights.  He's my favorite.  Reminds me of Richard Groyper.  :)

I think the only one sad to see LMH retire, is George Senda.   I could be wrong.

For a Deacon, or whatever, Ian seems to have an odd fascination with crime, drinking, and perversions.  Seems always been that way on shows. Subjects and then his follow up questions. But I still like him compared because ready with comments and into subjects.

With all that said, I haven't listened to Ian in years.  I remember an Ian with pathetic, unfunny jokes, repeated over and over again.  I'm pleasantly surprised that he has dropped that style, in favor of a more seriously interested aura.

He still has that voice quality that reminds me of  J. Neil Schulman  tho, sad to say.

They get a decent guest on, a renowned FBI serial killer profiler, who is enjoying the interview with Ian so what does Ian or the producer do? Ends the interview when the guest was clearly up for another hour or more. All so they could get to open lines, would be such a shame to miss out on the 100th call from the black lady who believes she's Cleopatra reincarnated.

It's especially odd since Ian was in such a hurry to get to the guest when he opened the show.

I'll be surprised if it's not Syrett on Sunday.  Syrett is on Saturday and I can't imagine Jorch is going to hurriedly jet back almost completely across the county to LA, after "invading" Columbus today.  Although, is Ma Noory in the St. Louis area?  He could pay her a visit on Mother's Day and do a broadcast from his "cave".  ;) ::)  I'm sure Ma Noory would love to see her little Jorchie.

Do you recall Ian telling us about the time he suddenly grabbed his wife's leg while they were sitting in a dark theater watching a horror movie?  What a hoot!  I thought I'd bust a gut.

He defended pornography again last night. And defended violent video games. Including a personal tale of finding Playboys in the trash of a neighbor as a 3rd Grader. Strange passions for some kind of Deacon? Maybe? I get his point claiming no direct cause&effect possibly but I think ignores certain things like comparing a Playboy to modern pornography, the availability, and the more ultra-realism and violent nature of today's games and porn. Sure maybe not a straight cause&effect but for people with already a predisposition or mental problems or young people growing up spending more time on them than school, social interaction, their families, churches, or whatever?  And if all so innocuous than why is there still laws and internal corporate warnings and age-limits on them? (Not that they work.) It is strange how Ian defends them so much.  And is so fascinated with lurid "true crime" stories of serial killers and depravity. Strange for a Deacon, I would think? Though I do think it is good for people to be aware, especially young people, girls, and women. It might be a good thing for them to be a bit paranoid and everyone should have situational awareness. Guest was good. And the ultra-feminists are crazy when there are accusations of sexism when people try to warn. Sure, you have every right to wear a sexy outfit, get blotto at the club, and walk home alone, or pick up some random guy at the bar, but there is also something called common-sense, self-preservation, and reality.  The victim doesn't not DESERVE it but there is also common-sense that should be involved.

I'm always wary of people that are a little too enthusiastic about true-crime. Like maybe somebody should check their crawlspace for hitchhikers or something.

Not too impressed by the little tantrum over the trial-by-media caller either

He also defended King Henry VIII for doing in his wives because they could not produce a male heir. I knew the guy was an Episcopal, but that's a bit much.

Ha!  ;D ;D   Yes, I recall that strange interlude.  He appeared to be justify any sovereign committing crimes. Weird. I think he attempted to sort of digress into a lesson on historical moral relativism and even that "people" accepted this because they wanted the king to have a heir. I had forgotten about that part.

Syrett is good. The mild-mannered Canadian has really grown on me. Knapp is good but pretty credulous with regard to anything UFO related.  Ian can be good, certainly better than Norry, but I suspect some of his key interests and obsession with brutal crimes and his dismissal of anyone who doesn't agree with his political bent.

Yep. I think Knapp is really good when doing true crime, especially  Mafia, shows, but won't listen to his UFO/paranormal shows anymore.  He buys into anything and everything he's told with UFO guests, never questions or challenges anything.  The last time that Elizonda clown was on with him, Knapp let him babble on and on without saying anything.  He's even worse with Paulides, the biggest conman in the C2C rotation.

I wish Ian would do an update on the DB Cooper story, he had some really good guests on that topic in the past.
