People who have no idea how classic car markets work, or any collectible market for that matter. "But why would it cost this much?? That's just stupid!" Because it's rare, a piece of history, AND OTHER PEOPLE WITH MONEY WANT IT.

Correct.  It is worth exactly what someone will pay for it.   :o

I really, really try to stay out of arguments with people regarding the classic car market. It is not "stupid" to spend millions on a classic car. Ten years ago, Ferrari GTOs were going for ~10 mil, now they're worth around 50. Still stupid?

I'm all for diet changes that are helpful.  In fact I'm planning some myself too for my own issues.  My only problem is with folks who think they're in the organic/vegan/gluten-free dept. at Whole Foods when really they're in the drive-thru lane at Taco Bell.     ::)

Exactly.

Even if they truly are that inconsiderate, can they really communicate back and forth over those awful speakers anything much more than 'I'll have a number 5'?

All depends on your world view.

That snarky 'thumbs up' icon/emoji thing people send me in messages. It irks me and it is utterly pointless.

Raisins.

More annoying : raisins posing.  Biting into a chocolate coated (what may be an espresso bean) and it's a damn raisin.

And...
People who say 'expresso'

raisins pretending to be chocolate chips in cookies... someone has to pay for that.

These are two of the worst possible things that can happen to a citizen of the first world.

Surely these are crimes against civilized humanity. ;)

Offenders should be publicly caned for this crime.

You beat me to it on the poser raisins, but people who say 'expresso' should be locked in a window-less room with a radio that plays nothing but the Nooron into infinity.

If anything is sacred in this world, it is espresso; served and pronounced correctly.

how free it is to not want so much for such things. even if it is for an investment, to want it that much..... Frankly,  collections are just more crap to clean.

Raisins.

Here's a raisin-related annoyance.  Why can I not get just plain Oatmeal Cookies?  They've always got raisins, or, even if not, they'll sneak in friggin "raisin puree".  Blech.

People on my email list who constantly forward jokes.  I'm not really a joke guy but I still feel obliged to respond appropriately by picking out what was funny about their gag, thereby unwittingly encouraging them to send more.  I don't know them well enough to tell them to stop but too well just to ignore them.  Thankfully that hasn't happened for a long time.  Maybe it was just a fad.

Raisins pretending to be chocolate chips in cookies that turn out to be neither raisins or chocolate chips when they up and fly away.  :o

It wasn't posted in the GN thread where I wouldn't have seen it because the quote wasn't posted there and I wouldn't see it because I seldom look in it anway.

Thwack!  ;D

So you admit it was your fault. I guess we are good then.

While I like raisins, I hate surprises in my cookies.  If I buy cookies marked "oatmeal raisin with nuts" I'm a tad put off when I bite into a tsunami of coconut and nutmeg.  My local grocery store must have lost it's baker.  The oatmeal cookies (plain or variety) USED TO BE soooo delicious.  Now they're just little flat circles of coconut and nutmeg.

If nutmeg is one of the first two "tastes" in a baked good, YOU'VE USED TOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!

And another thing....Don't hand me a cookie and say: "Guess what's in this."  My answer, after taking a "taste" and making a face, is usually, "OMG, toenail clippings?"

If you need to ask that, you wouldn't understand. It used to be deep and meaningful, but he seems to have cast me aside like he has all his other concubines. Once, there was a time when (Cont pp94)

We all deserve cookie ingredient transparency.  It should be a basic civil right.

Nutmeg should be added in the same fashion vermouth is properly added to extra-dry martinis.  Wave the bottle above and just let the fragrance gently drift down.
