Streaming on KXCI.org Tucson Community Radio for the next couple of days- The 913 Greatest Songs Ever!

Beware, it's a membership drive, but the music is well worth the begging breaks.

That is awesome. Though, after reading a bit of the votes, I already have serious reservations and questions about the Tucson communities' choices in this matter- but an interesting idea and fund-raising technique. Certainly beats my local radio's pledge drives!!
ps: also curious how in the world someone good organize such a vote? Was a master list generated and then listeners picked 1-913 or some kind of head-to-head match-up?

Yeah, Tucson is lousy with hippies and hipsters so...
I think they just went by open ballot, most voted rates.

Cool idea but....I couldn't even do my own list. What mood? Where are you listening? What state of mind you are in (wink, wink?) At what age? Live or on record? Too many choices and genres of music and songs that bring back memories from past, etc.

L.A. Guns - Rip and Tear

Great POST Redacted.  We've backed them up twice. We were also asked to leave their tour bus only once.

To quote Barry Foster in Frenzy "Lovely!!!"

Of my multitudinous suspensions in high school, I'm still proud of getting sent home at 8:45am on a friday(10/9/92, for my biographers) for wearing, and refusing to cover up a "Mob Rules" shirt.

Sending me home early on a what was already a long weekend. Torquemada had nothing on the punishments of the Boston Public Schools. Only wish I'd been able to find a "Born Again" shirt in 1992(didn't until Sept 20, 1996) that would have gotten me a week.

BUT, Fellowship of Christian Athletes logo shirts?  Instant winner with the faculty!

(Speaking of Born Again, somewhere, I know I have a perfectly cut out circle of the Seal of Solomon annotated with the band's name, that was found on the back of that album. With a devil and an orb in his hand if I recall correctly. I cut it out to present in jest, as in, "I got your pog right here.")

The faculty is unimpressed, if you heard this you'd change your ming

Led Zeppelin - Misty Mountain Hop(LYRICS)

As for my faculties (sp) they are quite gone to a "Misty Mountain".....

I should repeat myself or others, anyhow:

Beautiful, Avi.

May your home grow brighter, your faith grow stronger, and your hearts be warm with each candle you light.
Happy Hanukkah!

Thank you very much, TW. The little ones are fascinated by the candles. Careful supervision is required  ;D .

watching/listening to the St.Olaf Choir on PBS. Impressive. Usually you only get the UK and Europeans to do it so well. Merry Christmas. (I like diverse music. But, oddly, my favorites is 'classical', metal, and choral. Weird. But I think they share the same chords, or harmonics? I don't know.)

I'm guessing there's been little in the way of early 90s shoegazing Britpop in this thread.

Let's fix that.

haha, nice. I forgot about that. No Anton Armstrong conducting for some years. The only non-Somalian black person in Minnesota, perhaps?
