Which is actually, oddly, why we need to encourage teachers by paying a better salary (performance and other criteria based,) "reform" some of the rules/conditions in schools that encourage teachers to quit, get the illegals or gangmembers out of our schools, and encourage people retiring from business, the military, and other jobs to become teachers or, at least, subs. Or people out of work in the Obama Economy to teach/sub while they find another job. It shouldn't all be "education degree" teachers teaching our children.
I agree.  I think inner city schools probably have some fine teachers but they also have a lot of unruly students whom they cannot permanently evict from class.  There should be someplace in which to put kids who cannot just sit down and concentrate for 45min at a stretch.  If they don't know the language, they are not contributing members of the class.

Gangs should be prosecuted under RICO and just membership should be a crime.  We have families that are multiple generation gang members.  There is a culture that needs to change.  It's not a racial thing, but a cultural one.  When moms throw parties for their sons when they get out of prison, there's something seriously wrong.

I really think elements of cop culture must change, but so does ghetto culture.

For a way to find an authentic hobo stew possibly? Follow the symbols you might see around railroad tracks, etc ;)
Glad I brought back good memories, my granddad a WWII Navy vet from the Pacific Theater used to make a Navy Stew (I think the difference from other ham stews was used "Navy Beans" (real thing) but then the usual, but add whatever you got, carrots, ham, etc. and simmer a lot. Good stuff.)

If a parent cannot take care of a child, they should not have them.  Whatever we throw resources at, we encourage.  Kids are no longer 'little accidents'.  You are not stuck having them.  There is no excuse for not be prepared to care for a child adequately.  Every child should be wanted, but obviously they are not.

Honestly, THIS is why a top-down approach doesn't work and why local school boards and States should experiment (within limits of course) with school systems and teaching methods. And, if receiving Federal funds, DOCUMENT the results and compare/contrast the outcomes. And then other local schools can adopt ideas that work. With so much diversity it is CRAZY to think a one-all, top-down system would work. Communities (and students and teachers differ.) Some methods, ideas, or structure can work for some but not, necessarily for all. Here is a "socialist" country's idea in that regard. I really like. I think one problem our children have in school is TOO MUCH "sitting down" and not enough activity. Tire them out a bit and then teach. More, not less, physical activity, hikes, garden, art, raise animals, and music. And experiment with, depending on grade etc, with same-gender classes/schools, uniforms, or even multi-grade classrooms where older kids help "teach" younger ones. All of which, and more, would be dependent on grade level, areas, etc. I also think great idea of getting rid of the whole "summer" off. In much of the country it is HOT in the summer, too hot to do things outside. And that much time off school? (And now both parents often both must work to survive?) How about more WINTER/SPRING off, or larger breaks in a full school year (around holidays and a traditional time enough for a family summer trip?) Think outside the top-down "education degree" ingrained educational system.

That's just silly.  Pat Buchanan is hardly a 'religious fanatic'.  But this stuff is just another example of why the Ds lost, continually insulting the rest of America.

Now Muslims, if it's 'religious fanatics' you want, look no further.  Yet the Ds can't bend over backwards enough for this group.

Try thinking for yourself.

I think a few places tried to initiate a policy for birth-control via the implant for those on public assistance or convicted of some drug offenses here in the US. (I think SC?) But Courts, and most public opinion, were against. I can see their arguments, especially considering the history of treating "undesireables" (back in the day: blacks, poors, "drunkards." retards, etc) with forced sterilization or abortion (and worse like the Kennedy girl.) But with modern technology, I think, one could, maybe, mandate a system that if receiving public funds or shown child abuse, no child support, etc (women AND men) a way to sterilize which could, later if proven "of means" to care for your child be reversed?

Yeah.  There are some who have blamed the push to become vegetarian for the upswing in diabetes in the country.  Eskimos, who eat mainly meat and fat have hardly no diabetes, but Native Americans and Mexicans who eat a mostly vegetable (starch-based) diet are prone to the disease.

Meat protein makes you feel full and supplies energy.  If you eat only vegetables you tend to feel full and get energy by filling up on carbs.

People vary.  I heard an analysis once on digestion and the corresponding meat or veggie diet depending on intestine length.

Some vegetarians have odd mood swings which I am told are attributable to the blood sugar fluctuations.

No.  Indians have a problem with diabetes because it's so hard for them to get a low carb diet there.  They end up taking lots of dangerous meds.

My husband is diabetic and because he does not want to get on to meds that have serious side effects (he takes a low dose of metformin) he is on a very strict diet - 30 to 40 grams of carbs daily.  It's not a matter of just staying away from sugar and white flour and pasta.  No beans, tomatoes, onions - and the list goes on and on.  There are no canned soups that he can have.

Just because you couldn't understand it doesn't make it inelegant.

QuoteI have another.

Unless it's "where can I hire people to attend my funeral so it looks like somebody cared about me", then I don't care.

QuoteForget all the Trump stuff, the rioters, popular votes and electoral college votes...  Why would anyone support the elite, the globalists, the candidate that took money from Wall St, Big Banks, lobbyists, the rich, foreign governments like Saudi Arabia and Qatar?

No.  I wanted Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren.  Barring that, I held my nose for Hitlery because I genuinely believe Trump has no idea what to do next and will be unduly influenced by Mike Pence.

QuoteBecause some of our Founding Fathers owned slaves?  Because Trump wants to send cartel members, gang members, and other violent criminals back to Mexico and Central America?  Because we're going to start controlling our border like every other country?  Because ISIS and other terror groups are infiltrating refugee groups, causing then mayhem in other countries that have taken them in, and we don't think that's a good idea here?  Because the police have shot black thugs violently resisting arrest?

That and you have always been intellectually dishonest.  You come close to outing yourself in this last paragraph; I just wish you'd have the balls to finally say that what you want is "build the wall" and "law and order in the inner cities" and WHY this is so important to you.

Granted, anyone with half a brain (so this rules out Dr MDMD and Quimby) can see what this is really about to you, but do you have the courage to out yourself like Albrecht, Mikuthing and The King of Kings?

QuoteBecause which bathrooms the transgendered community may use is an issue in North Carolina?  Because Big Media is telling you any attempt to thwart voter fraud is somehow 'racist'?  Because Trump is against the TPP, same as Sanders and Warren?

The bathroom thing was a dogwhistle to hatemongers like you.  AS if anybody is going to patrol bathrooms looking for trannies.  Troll them, like Quimby does, maybe, but patrol them?  And I am still against TPP.  I hope it is squashed on day one.

QuoteWhat kind of weak minded person swallows the narrative created by Big Media on all this

Fox News viewers.

Quote- how it's all racist, how no intelligent person could support it, how the true plan is to deport all 'brown' people -

Well see, now you're getting close to it.

QuoteWhat is it about bigger government always being better, to the point you support the elites and globalists against the rest of us?

1) Government in a country as diverse (ethnically, regionally, socio-economically, etc) as ours is where we come together.  As a nation of immigrants we all came here looking for a better life in a country based on the rule of law and the right of choice.
2) You conflate a desire for justice with some mystical global elite you heard about on InfoWars.  The last thing progressives want is a worldwide corporatacracy, but the way things are going, we are already screwed.

QuoteAnd with all that bile and distain?

"Distain" is on our national soul.  Bah-dum-bum.  My disdain is for conservatism and its pseudo-intellectualization of exclusion.

QuoteWhere does this all come from and why?  It's not as if Hilary is someone you like and support for her own sake.  Seriously, I'd like to know.

Seriously I'd like you to stop with false dichotomy as an arguing point, but I'd just be whistling "Dixie". (Hint: my family fought for the Union so...)

I love this country.  I know our future is bright; the millennial map alone gives me great hope.  I'm just sad that I will be too old (or dead) to see this country emerge as a paragon of justice, progress, and equality.  I see the foundation of a new country built not on exclusion but inclusion, where our differences aren't used as justification for persecution but as qualities that are equally respect and make us unique.

I love that this country is still a place of virtue where we can even have the fight over ending class and bigotry as ways of life, let alone actually achieve such a truly noble state of being.  I love that we are slowly but surely realizing that this planet has resource enough to ensure that the human condition can be so much better than our current self-imposed limitations.  I know that we will always have the type-a overachievers who crave attention and the need to boost their self-esteem by denigrating others, but their influence is waning.

Stop telling me I "hate America" because I think blacks, latinos, gays, and women should be treated with the same respect as white men.  I know that point will twist you into indignant rage, but stop and think it through for once.

QuoteAlso, barely a year after General Macarthur and General Patton (along with future US President Dwight Eisenhower) defeated the Communist led Bonus Army, the American Republic was saved again, in 1933, by that nation’s greatest general, Smedley Butler, who during the Business Plot foiled the elites master plan to overthrow the government and join the United States with Nazi Germany.

Generals Macarthur, Patton, Smedley and Eisenhower, of course, were able to save the American Republic and the “billionaire blue collar” President of those times Franklin Roosevelt from the Business Plot coupâ€"and in saving this leader they then went on to defeat Nazi Germany and the Japanese Empire in World War II.

The true history of all of this has, of course, been scrubbed from the American history books their children are taught fromâ€"and was deliberately done during the President Reagan administration in the late 1980’s by Vice President George H.W. Bush who created what is now called the Common Core teaching system whose true purpose was to keep hidden from generations of American’s that his father, Prescott Bush, headed the elites many plots to join the United States with Nazi Germany.

Yes.  There are druggie moms who have kids so they can prostitute them out at an early age.  There are druggie moms who save for an abortion, but when they keep eyeing that money they end up spending it on drugs until it's too late for an abortion.

People hear 'abortion' or 'government mandated birth control' and become upset, but no child should ever be born to such parents.
